Aha, good!

I'm also thinking about adding multiple pledges for myself because I think having goals of different sizes is good motivation for me. So I might put in a few to cover the next month and maybe one or two a few months down the line to have everything finished by. Obviously everyone is welcome to do the same.

My Photobucket account doesnt seem to work so I'm going to try to attach my photo of Bruant.

Hope it works!

Nice work Nerm!

My Szally is complete but I'm considering going back and adding some detail to it. I'll have a think before I post it up as finished. I've added some more pledges, next up is the Lizard.

I'm still waiting for a zinge industries envelope with a flexible ammo belt in it - they're actually much nicer than what's supplied with the dragoês model and way easier to model into more complex bends (which I kind of need here).
Not **technically** finished, but since it's going to take me all of five minutes to put that belt on once it actually gets here I'm calling it done
Never mind the base, that's a temporary one for priming and painting - the scenic base he'll be mounted on will be painted separately.

I really like the way you have converted that. I want to get a Jotum and do similar

Great conversion and a nice early finish! Great job all round! I'll update the OP.

I'm struggling to find a material which I can bend into a thin strip and which will hold up a TAG. It's going to have to be metal but I can't seem to find anything to do the job. Any ideas are welcome.

How thin and what kind of bend? holding up a TAG on any kind of thin strip is going to be problematic.
Realistically speaking the strongest stuff you're going to get at a normal price which is sufficiently malleable is plain ol' steel, AFAIK.
You have me intrigued by the idea, now

I'm not certain of thickness right now but a couple of millimetres probably. As for the bend, I need to be able to alter the shape quite a lot but that shouldn't be a problem with metal at that thickness. I'm looking for something around the house to plunder right now. Everything seems too thin or too thick but I'll find something.

"couple of millimetres" would mean 3mm steel, 8mm wide? that should hold without flexing in the least. have fun bending 2mm+ steel sheet, though. Not an issue if you have some tools; if you don't, however... it can be an interesting experience again, feasibility mostly depends on what you want precisely but TBH a "couple of millimetres" of some kind of metal does not qualify as a "thin" strip, at 1/56 scale modelling

Haha true. To be more exact I need 1-2mm thick strip with a width of maybe 5-7.5mm and a length of about 40-50mm. Kind of like a wide paperclip. I have the tools to deal with those sizes as long as I don't have to cut anything too carefully. I'm sure there will be something around that'll do the job. I need two pieces which is problematic...

Well I tried to paint the other day but my son and daughter whined to paint themselves. So my daughter got to paint her Riot Grrl and my son did a figure I got him for his birthday from Reaper. Some guy with a big gun.

2x7.5x50 should hold a TAG in any shape pretty well, I'd say. I could scrounge up some plate metal from my backyard (students' housing... don't ask) some time next week and try?

Haha, you've taught them well then Brian!

Bolognesus, it's awesome that you'd be willing to do that man, thanks! Don't worry about it though mate, I pledged to get my Lizard done by the 10th so I'm hoping to get it done asap. So far I'm thinking that I might have to rip the casing off of an old appliance or something. My PC is pretty much dead so maybe it doesn't need all of it's casing...

most of a PC case would be a bit too thin (generally somewhere between 0.8 and 1.2mm depending on build quality) but the internal frame might well qualify

...perhaps this whole thing doesn't really belong in the pledging thread...

Haha yeh slightly off topic now. Steering us back towards the road: I'm making progress on my Lizard but the process of design is complex(I've collected more reference images for this than everything else put together) so I might push it back a week. I found a large enough washer to cut into two strips but it's taking forever with the tools I have, I am now considering using a paperclip for strength and covering it in plasticard and greenstuff for shape. No further updates from me until I finish it and post to my blog.

The two lists I painted up for a local tournament. They worked very well as I won all my games!

That's going to confuse some people, Nerm ...

In an ITS tournament, if you are permitted to run two lists, they BOTH have to be from the same faction (and sectorials count as separate factions - so with Ariadna, it's either two vanilla, two highlander or two mrrf lists, not mix-and-match).

If, however, it's NOT an ITS event (as I believe this wasn't), and it's just a tournament event to get the local crowd encouraged to play the game, then all is fine and good with the world.

Your stuff's coming along well.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Can I pledge to have my DPC model done in time, or is that too vague?

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

You really blasted through them, nice one, Nerm! I'll update your pledge.

@motyak - Von Skyfury asked me a while ago so I added that pledge in for everyone! Check the OP out.

So my 2 Veteran Kazaks were due today but as there's the Painting competition, they are not done =(
Maybe they will before the end of the month.
Haven't taken a lot of time to paint recently.

No worries Skyfury, I'll update the OP, feel free to repledge whenever. Hope you find some more painting drive soon.

Nope... Lizard is causing me trouble. I'm getting somewhere but it's not complete in time for the pledge. I won't repledge it as I've got absolutely no idea how much longer I need.

Here's my first model that I tried to paint seriously. I'm not sure hot to paint the glowing eyes effect and I'm still not sure how to make the face look artificial.

Nice one mate and welcome to Dakka. You probably want to post in the Community Showcase thread though, it gets more traffic too.

I need to change my pledge. I pledge to paint 1 Janissary, 1 Veteran Kazak and 1 3rd Highlander Grey. I also need to rebase 3 Ghulam, 1 Muraibs Touerag and one Naffatun to complete two starter forces so I can run demo games at Wintercon 2013.

Deadline is Friday 12 July.

No worries Nerm, got that sorted for yah! A very worthy pledge, I hope it goes well. Does Wintercon get a good turnout?
