its more the fact that the entirety of assault has been nerfed. The introduction of over watch and unreliable charges means that wyches are pretty much all going to die before they reach the opponent.
Fleet mitigates the unreliable charge ranges somewhat, and overwatch can be managed by using small throwaway squads to force the opponent to use their overwatch on the small unit lest it make it into base contact and make the unit unable to overwatch the larger, more dangerous unit.
'Course this falls down against Tau who can overwatch with multiple units, as they can overwatch the first unit with the unit being charged then use backup units to hit the real threat if it tries to charge. So you'd basically have to charge all their units at once to spread the overwatch out. That's going to take some serious planning and a whole heap of luck to get units into position to do that.
Small units give kill points, fleet doesn't entirely compensate unreliable charges and larger squads of why he's usually still die to space marines and the like very easily.
With only one mission decided by killpoints they aren't as important anymore, so MSU's in Venoms are more useful than ever. Night Shields and Flickerfields mitigate T1 fire coming your way in case you don't go first (protecting the First Blood secondary objective) and then you can hit one unit with everything you've got to get First Blood. If it's a vehicle you have Lances and Haywire Grenades, multiple small units increase the amount of grenades you can throw at it so you can possibly destroy it in shooting, which means its occupants are then vulnerable to be shot at by the Splinter Cannons on your Venoms or whatever anti-infantry you have.

3x Stormraven w/ TL MM, TL Assaul Cannon, and TL Hurricane Bolter Sponsons
Start nothing on the board and rain DC and Dreads Turn 2. Each 5man DC squad accompanied by the 3 different Chaplains. If they actually made it into CC it would be ridiculous. 25 ap1 and ap3 shots rerolling all missed hits and wounds from each squad. The barrage of fire from the 3 Stormravens would be great too.
I just want to point out that you can take a DC Dread for every 5 DC Marines you have in the army.
They dont need to be in seperate squads.
So technicaly you can take one 25man DC Marine squad and 5 DC Dreads as Troops.
This wont be the best list in a mission with objectives tho...

I'm going to try this one out in the next couple of weeks:
SoB main detachment with IG allies:
Celestine + 10 rough riders with mogul kamir -celestine tanks out front and then on charge the unit gets 40-42Str6 AP3 attacks going at I5. Plus Celestine's attacks
3 x 10woman retributor squads with 4xHF and a CF in a repressor. - Charge forward at full pace with front AV 13. - Squad has 5 HFs and 1 flamer shot with possibility of getting rending off on all but 1 HF.
3x 10 woman seraphim squads with 4 hand flamers each squad and melta bombs - DS these in really aggressively to see if they can screw over stuff with their re-roll to wound on shooting
2x 10 woman battle sister squads for main troops all with flamers.
1x vet squad and 1 x CCS possibly all with flamers.
3x 10 sister repentia squads to charge forward at the enemy and try and kill armour.
Comes in at around 2500 points but with shaving could get a similar effect at 2000 points I reckon
Just watch your opponents face as you charge forward everything giving him almost too many options to shoot at once. Any infantry you can shoot die horribly under sheer weight of firey death. But cry when you see your opponent bringing lots of heavy armour with large blast shooting attacks!
