Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS.

Only 1850 points!

121 Power Armored bodies running straight across the field, with nothing in mind other than to make your life miserable. Of course, playing Heldrakes would suck horribly for you, but otherwise its a massive middle finger to everyone and everything, ever. Most armies literally can't keep all this off an objective.

Basically Heldrakes, MCs with Iron Arm, Wraithlords/knights and... yeah that might be it.

Other than the Dark Apostle's unit, CSM can be swept in combat by assault units.

This list will get chewed up by a lot of the more aggressive armies, including daemons and other fast aggressive armies.

Ulrik and Arjac, and a way to field an all-Terminator SW army!

Everybody gets Drop Pods, Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields.

Pretty much an all-or-nothing list. Either it smashes, or it gets smashed, but I like Ulrik, Arjac, and Tactical Dreadnoughts.

Oh. And Ulrik can't go in a Pod?! WTF...

Honestly, i want to run a pure Stormboy list but sadly since theres no Stormboss allowing them to be troops its only going to be about 1/3 of my army at best at the average point game.

Hmm....that would be an interesting addition in the new ork codex actually...let the Warboss take Stormpacks or a Deffkopta and can make either nobz or stormboys or koptas a troop choice (one, not all 3). Not that competitive but would be hilarious and fun which is what orks are about!

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Since the new Eldar dex has arrived I've REALLY wanted to use a list that capitalizes on Horrify and Dominate. The thought of crippling enemy LD and then shutting them down every phase with Dominate sounds really awesome. The only thing holding me back is the lack of consistency... :/

2x Farseers: with Jetbikes, 3x Telepathy rolls to maximize Terrify, Dominate, and Psychic Shriek
4x Warlocks: with Jetbikes and all trying to get that Horrify off

4x3 Windriders: Warlock escorts

2x Hemlocks: Mindshock Pods, and Terrify

Throw in some decent AT and possible AA platforms and it looks like a fun time

2x Destroyer lords with goodies

3x 7 man Scarab squads

6x 3 man Spyder squads

18 additional Scarab bases going down a turn, not to mention the 18 S6 3W T6 3+Sv MCs charging down the field. At 2500, it'd be fun to load them up with particle beamers for tons of twin-linked S6 blasts.

I'd love to do a full infantry IG list

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

I like the March of the Ancients list Lucarix posted..that would be mine too. 11 Dreadnoughts...opponent like what???

A full Death from the Skies list...about 2400pts

HQ
Astorath
Reclusiarch w/ jump pack

Troops
3x 5man DC w/ 4x Power Sword and 1x Thunder Hammer
Lemartes
3x DC Dreadnought

Heavy
3x Stormraven w/ TL MM, TL Assaul Cannon, and TL Hurricane Bolter Sponsons

Start nothing on the board and rain DC and Dreads Turn 2. Each 5man DC squad accompanied by the 3 different Chaplains. If they actually made it into CC it would be ridiculous. 25 ap1 and ap3 shots rerolling all missed hits and wounds from each squad. The barrage of fire from the 3 Stormravens would be great too.

Dark Eldar Wych Cult. Possibly using a Webway Portal.

And have just started building one (first ten Wyches built, woo!) so it will eventually be a reality.

What can I say? I like an uphill struggle and the new Tau book with its new gizmos and rules just doesn't fulfill that for me

So Tau are being put on hold for the first time since 4th edition until they're suitably old and need updating again

Last edition wych cult were really good, they have been properly nerfed by not being able to take blasters.

its more the fact that the entirety of assault has been nerfed. The introduction of over watch and unreliable charges means that wyches are pretty much all going to die before they reach the opponent.

Fleet mitigates the unreliable charge ranges somewhat, and overwatch can be managed by using small throwaway squads to force the opponent to use their overwatch on the small unit lest it make it into base contact and make the unit unable to overwatch the larger, more dangerous unit.

'Course this falls down against Tau who can overwatch with multiple units, as they can overwatch the first unit with the unit being charged then use backup units to hit the real threat if it tries to charge. So you'd basically have to charge all their units at once to spread the overwatch out. That's going to take some serious planning and a whole heap of luck to get units into position to do that.

Another fun list but man would it be expensive though I have heard of people running it is what I call Barrel of Monkeys.

I would run it as

HQ
Coteaz

Troops
5x 12 man Jokaero Weaponsmith

That's 60 Lascannon/MultiMelta/Heavy Flamer shots...please tell me who can deal with that? You better go first. On average 30 will hit and about 25 will wound. Problem is 60 Monkeys will run you about $900 US at 2200pts

Another fun one would be a Psyker Bomb.

HQ
Coteaz w/
8x Psykers
4x Crusaders

Troops
6x 8man Psykers and 4man Crusaders

That's 7x Str10 AP1 Pieplates per turn for 1000pts Crusaders are there as bodyguards for SS invuln.
This list would run you about $550...actually a lot more expensive then I thought for 1000pts.

Small units give kill points, fleet doesn't entirely compensate unreliable charges and larger squads of why he's usually still die to space marines and the like very easily.
