Are you sure you're talking about this game?

The hints that were dropped by EA was for a new Command and Conquer Generals game with the Bioware logo slapped on. Then they changed the game from Generals to Generic. Then they made it F2P. Then they took the Bioware logo out. Then nobody cared anymore.

---

Also, supposedly this brawler isn't the only IP that EA is slapping a Bioware logo onto.

EA doesn't have a fighting game IP yet. Maybe they'll slap the Bioware logo onto that and say it's the game they've been working on since 2011 or whatever. Fighting Games are so easily exploitable with DLC.

Yeeeeeeah, EA doesn't "slap a BioWare logo onto" jack. I don't know where you got that information from but BioWare and DICE are pretty independent in terms of EA developers.

Too bad most of the old developers are now independent of BioWare.

DICE's name is "EA Digital Illusions CE" : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EA_Digital_Illusions_CE
It is a subsidiary

Bioware is a Division of EA: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioware
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Division_(business)

I think you've mistaken Bioware of being a subsidiary similar to how Treyarch is still owned by Activision Blizzard. Bioware is not a subsidiary, and it is not its own company. Bioware is literally and wholly integrated into EA such that employees can and will be shuffled between Bioware and other groups at will without specifically switching jobs. DICE is a subsidiary.

Bioware is as independent from EA as my garage is independent from my house.

On paper.

In practice, that's not true. At all.

Sounds like Dungeonland.

How long have you been employed by EA, out of curiosity? You seem awfully certain of internal company politics for an outsider.

I think with the founders shown the door after the joint TOR/ME3 issues and a lot of the old guard gone, it's pretty tough to make the case that Bioware is some independent outsider in the EA structure. Especially given that it's had its name slapped onto a couple other unrelated studios already.

I have to say, the initial wave of ads ("you've been chosen!!1" - oh geez, how novel, it's not like this doesn't happen in every other game ever) really resulted in a firewall of disinterest that had me auto-delete all the other mails I got on this subject.
But after learning that this game is a Coop 4-v-1 ... alright, Bioware, you've got my attention.

On a sidenote, some of the posts in this thread ...
