My Operation Icestorm just arrived in the post this morning! Woohoo!

Mines been here 2 weeks now, but I refuse to open it... I might get distracted from the DZC I've finally started painting!

Picked my copy up from Tabletop Nation the other week, and have put together the basic soldiers used in mission 1.

Really lovely figures, and the set as a whole has a great retro feel for me – it's nice to have a boxed set that requires a bit of work to get going (like 40k 3rd). I've put some thoughts on the box on my blog, Death of a Rubricist, and will be working through the models there, too; starting with the Fusiliers and Alguaciles.

Yes - a few posts back someone who lives near them mentioned that they talked to them and that the Miniature Market's supply of ICESTORMs has been 'delayed' and that, as of a few days ago, there is no expected delivery date.

I've asked them for an update today - I'll let you know what I hear!

For what it's worth, TheWarStore seems to have shipped this past weekend. I got mine today.

Got my shipping notice from Warstore today.

Got my package today from The Warstore. Very excited!

Though I won't actually have time for it until maybe Nov 8th.

I started on mine this morning.
Looking god so far.
I think I'll paint the CSU first.
I've also got the bootleg Penny to paint.
Since I'm an Aleph player I don't really need any of the miniatures in the game, but I'll paint them up as opfor.
The healer looks like a fun model to paint, I might add her to the queue.

I tried assembling the first of my fusiliers and have either forgotten how to work with metal miniatures or my fingers have simply gotten fatter... either is a very real possibility.
do you have any tips on putting these guys together... they are so tiny... ugh!

I use a gel super glue and tried pinning but every time that I think the glue is set I pick it up for it to just fall off. maybe I need some kicker?

I've found that gel doesn't work too well for metal because of curing time & the weight of the parts. Rather I use a brush on loctite & sand/file both contact points to rough it up & give better adhesion.

I highly recommend zap a gap. It's probably the best super glue I've worked with. Half the time I just glue my metal models together with it and don't pin. It holds well.

I put mine together with regular Loctite. Worked fine.

I just used gel superglue too and it was ok. I prefer gel to liquid. You can also try scoring the surfaces of your minis maybe.
