Hastings mentioned it won't be a Death Guard-only release. So a plastic GUO (not in a Triumvirate set though ) has a good chance to be part of this

That would go down as the most expensive triumvirate and the only one I'd buy. Lol

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Strange i would expect that Lorgar would make a move the whole heresy started when Ultramarines came to their planet and chastised the word bearers

Since they changed the fluff so that it was all Erebus' fault, the Heresy "really" started when Erebus began worhsipping Chaos and planed to subvert Lorgar. Otherwise you're suggesting that Lorgar wouldn't have bothered twisting the Emperor's greatest champion if he hadn't been shouted at by Guilliman.

I suspect the "rivalry" between the Word bearers and Ultramarines is similar to that between England and Germany in football; The Word Bearers think they're the Ultramarines' greatest foe, while the Ultramarines think "who? Nah, we don't worry about them".

Given that the "Legion Benefit" of the Word Bearers grants hatred to Ultramarines while they are there, I think it's a bit more even then you think.

Though as it is It'd be lucky anyone could get any information to Lorgar in his little prayer sanctuary at all, Mortarian at least is paying attention and Fulgrim tried to kill Guilliman before and would love to eagerly corrupt him towards Slaanesh.

I don't like football. Who are the Ultramarines in this example.

Frightening Flamer of Tzeentch

Somewhere

I wonder WHEN though...

Based off the 1000 sons release I do not think it will be a Triumvative style release but rather something that mirrors 1k sons and Tzeentch demons releases

Moratorian (as Magnus)
Typhus (as Ahriman)
Plague Marines
Plague Termies
Perhaps another box of assorted HQs (it does not have to mirror 1k sons exactly but is likely)

And much like the Disciples of Tzeentch that soon followed we should get serious Nurgle Demon release perhaps combined or similar to the 1000 sons and Disciples of Tzeentch.

GUO (as LOC)
Nasty demons out the wazoo....

Plague Zombies and Beasts of Nurgle probably.
I'm not sure but I think the Beasts of Nurgle might be the oldest non-HQ models in the whole Daemonrange.

I think Fiends of Slaanesh might be older.

They're the same age. They came out at the same release schedule. Both are due for a plastic update. BoN are the only Daemon models I don't own, as I don't like them currently!!

Retconning the awful 40k Centurions and the Megamarines as being a new innovation wouldn't be so bad but it's somewhat in the face of the grimdark stagnation of 40k.

A complete embiggerising of the range with blown up in size Raiders and Rhinos would really annoy. Giving the Mega Marines Spartans or Mammoths in plastic would be a nice move. I do feel this has the potential to screw up 40k as Age of Sigmar did for Fantasy. Worrying development.

Im wondering if this release will also include an element of cultists or mutations or something that can go along with AOS as well. I liked how tzaangors and deamons work for both.

It would also give me hope that eventually Fulgrim will work his way into a release schedule that will double as the re-emergence of Slaanesh in AOS. (mostly because I want new deamonettes please)

It's unlikely that a new Slaanesh release would see plastic kits replaced. Hell at this stage I doubt we'd even get new Fiends.

In the warhammer world we live in- with plastic tzaangors, Custodians, gene stealer cults, primarchs, 3 platics sisters of silence and maybe even nu marines who can what is and isnt likly any more?

Also seems like GW is creeping back into boob territory with the Sylvaneth, so that aspect is kinda promising.

I also would really like a Slaanesh release that covers both 40k and AoS, but i hope they don't replace the Daemonettes. I like the current models and I'd much prefer new Fiends and much more importantly a new Keeper of Secrets, hopefully with a special character variant.

I've said it in other threads, but they should revamp the other three Chaos Gods just like they did for Tzeentch, and do it across both games.

Khorne
Angron
Kharn (already out)
Berzerker Terminators (box'o'5)
Khorne Berzerkers (new box'o'10)
Khorne Bikers (box'o'3)
Flesh Hounds (box'o'5 - work in both games)

Nurgle
Mortarion
Great Unclean One (in plastic - works for both games)
Typhus (in plastic)
Plague Terminators (box'o'5)
Plague Marines (new box'o'10)
Plague Zombies (box'o'20 - work in both games)
Beasts of Nurgle (box'o'3 - work in both games)
Pestigors (w/40K Upgrade sprue, box'o'10 - work in both games)

(Bonus mini - Plastic Palanquin of Nurgle)

Slaanesh
Fulgrim (in all his snake-y glory!)
Keeper of Secrets (in plastic - works for both games)
Lucius (in plastic)
Noise Marine Terminators (box'o'5)
Noise Marines (new box'o'10)
Khorne Bikers (box'o'3)
Fiends of Slaanesh (box'o'3 - works for both games)

Plus a few other things, either Slaangors or Noise Cultists. Something that can work across games.

Actually it's Beasts of Nurge, Fiends of Slaanesh and Flesh Hounds. All are still 'finecast' at the moment and all are still relics from 5th ed. Daemons' release.

Flesh Hounds would make a lot of sense in plastic as the kit could also allow for Karanak.

Now only a CSM player.

I feel like I'm nit-picking, but the Daemon book came out at the very end of 4th. It is a 4th edition book, designed for 5th.

Given how it played, it certainly wasn't designed for 5th at all.

I know it was a copy paste error but the fact that they are rivals and that khorne usually gets the good updates made me chuckle since this probably is what they would get.

Agreed, although the change to Rending made Slaaneshi armies a bit less awesome.

..We are talking about the same Codex that split your army in two on a dice roll and forced full redundancy or else failure? The same codex that relied mostly melee MC's to crack open transports that could be only hit on a 4+ or 6+? The army that ended up being broken in half by Grey Knights.. But didn't really need that since IG, Mech Wolves, and SM could deal with? When a failed deep strike could kill the entire unit because your entire army relied upon it, as well as nothing to fully help bring units in...

I don't remember it playing beautifully at all.

Then I think you played it wrong. And yes, THAT Daemon army. In the hands of a good player, it was nasty. I regularly tabled guys in my local area with it, a couple of which who used to do GT circuits and place well. I took it on the road to a couple small tournaments (I didn't care to GT it myself) and the response from similarly minded players was "Daemons? Crap. I'm guessing you know what you're doing with them." And yes. Yes I did. I miss my old book...where it wasn't point and click, but boy was it nasty.
