Indeed. The plot angles those two bring would be excellent to play off of in any official or fan made story.

Haha, I never thought of regular mortal followers in a Death army. That would be a really good idea.

Quite a few of the living worhip and/or serve Nagash and his Mortarchs - especially Neferata - she has a huge spy network and the living defend her city alongside the dead. She also like worship and adoration.

Vampires need the living to survive, so it was in the World that Was so it is in the Mortal Realms

Oh indeed, there's many examples in the lore with even the Flesh eater court being living people rather than undead beasts, it just didn't cross my mind for one of the Mortarchs to take advantage of that and I'm fully for it.

Neferata-style multi-wound Vampire elite units, and chaff Mortal Thrall units that the Vampires can attack to recover wounds?

Oh, sacrificial fodder to heal and pump up the elites. That'd be really unique and flavorful.

For Chaos, I'd love to see a Norsca-inspired faction. They're my favorite faction in Total War: Warhammer! Give me some more Monsters and a plastic Mammoth to run alongside some Marauder infantry with javelins or great weapons.

I don't play Death, but I'd love to see mortal followers of Nagash. Apprentice necromancers and the like supported by death-obsessed warriors.

2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)
1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress
2000 Slaves to Darkness (Ravagers)

I badly want to be able to take a squad of Cairn Wraiths. I know you used to be able to, several editions ago. A squad of wraiths would look great! Besides, a single wraith just isn't very impactful by itself.

Oh, what would I like:

For death, that idea of a zombie army somebody mentioned before? Do that. Honestly, I would combine the dead walkers and death mages under one faction. You've got corpse carts, which already suggest it to a degree. Necromancers as the leaders, with zombies as the rank and file, with apprentice level necromancers as elites performing similarly to the tzeeentch cultists backed up by corpse carts and zombified monsters and creations. These can be the 'infiltrator' death faction. The one that hides among the cities of man, ready to rise up and cause mayhem.

Also, the skeleton faction? What if they really went down the whole 'dead kingdom' route and made them out into something that plays like the bretonions and tomb kings did? Massed ranks of skeleton spear men and archers, with skeleton cavalry, siege engines and so on. Let's go even further. The leaders, the nobility? They're the ones who have retained sentience. They've pledged their undying allegiance to Nagash forever. The regular skeletons are just automatons of a sort. It's not original, but something like the necrons of 40k.

For destruction, although I do want both the spider fang and moon clan grots to get properly fleshed out, I definitely want to see the grotbag scuttlers get a look in too! They've been mentioned a lot of times now and they seem to be the main rivals to the overlords. There're too cool not to do!

The Ogors need love too. Could definitely see maneater companies being a thing, and the fire bellies should become a whole faction.

I play Kharadron but... I'd really like to see a "Death Knight" faction for Death.

DnD style "fallen paladins" would be my go-to (I've had many Death Knight villains in my campaigns, including one where the boss was a Dracolich with 9(!!!) Death Knights in it's employ!).
This is happily what current speculation suggests might happen, too, what with rumors of Nagash making his own Stormcast!

I'm on a podcast about (video) game design:

And I also stream tabletop painting/playing Mon&Thurs 8PM EST

And make YouTube videos for that sometimes!

Soulblight Blood Dragons would be perfect for this. I'm in the same boat as you. I dunno, I guess I'm sick of seeing shirtless sparkly vampires and I also just want a good suit of armour to kick arse too haha

Could totally see a whole blood dragon army. I would have thought that these would have been Nagash's answer to the storm cast. They could have loads of different vampire knightly orders to allow for different colour schemes.
