Just as comparing miniatures in a Shadespire expansion to a normal AoS box is invalid.
Not even slightly. They're both plastic miniatures, made by the same company. Other than one being push-fit and made in coloured plastic there is no difference.

When you buy GW plastic minis, you are not buying plastic, you are buying playing pieces for a game. If you buy the shadespire minis as AOS minis I will agree that the value is not great, but these minis are designed for shadespire. I cannot buy just 5 skaven or 4 Orruks at the price mentioned. If I want to play shadespire, the other 15 minis in the box is just useless plastic.
Also GW minis are always priced according to likely demand. That is why heroes are more expensive than battleline minis. In fact if you look at each shadespire box as containing one hero plus companions then the pricing becomes rather less than the AOS equivalent. The ironjawz expansion costs the same as a single warchanter.
Ultimately it comes down to taste. I am greatly enjoying my time with Shadespire so I am happy to pay the asking price.

Are magic cards made from gold? No, they're basically the same thing as the Shadespire ones.

You're not paying £X for that plastic miniature or card completely isolated from context, which is why it's equally invalid to compare the per miniature price on these as it is to compare card prices to magic.
