Well it looks noice! and it appears to have a reasonable price! The walls look to be big. And they are fine for a Chaos Fortress in 40k too!

So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I'm hoping that Warqueen means some new Slaves to Darkness models. I don't even play AoS, but I would buy some properly AoS sized and styled undivided Chaos Warriors to paint up.

The barbarian looks pretty nice. I see the cries of sexism, "chainmail bikini", etc., but I don't see a problem with it. She's dressed like how you would expect, seems to fit into the army she was released for, and not too different from many of the male versions of the concept that GW has produced before, most notably the character from Silver Tower as mentioned. The comparison to Red Sonja is also apt, she looks like a Frazetta-style barbarian and I'm okay with that since in that universe Conan's out there running around in his underwear, too. It's also worth pointing out that she definitely isn't in a "sexy" pose, either, which is another huge plus.

The presence or absence of a deck of cards doesn't change that.
Local store seems to sell mtg boosters 11e for 15 cards. Even if we found them for 8e(almost 30% cheaper) that's still 28e for 60 cards.
It's less about what it costs to produce and more what customers wants to pay. Mtg players pay more without problem. Gw seems to be aiming that market

Not to mention you pay Reaper mini prices for GW models.
If you are complaining about the pricing for the Shadespire expansions, you need to take a serious look at the industry, because thats a ridiculous claim.
7 skellies for $30 is just a little over $4 a model, which isn't bad at all.
4 orruks for $30 is just a little under $7 a model, which again isn't bad.
The closest comparison for these models is Privateer press or Reaper minis, maybe infinity. All in all, GW meets the market standards or exceeds them, and thats assuming all cost is simply for minis, not cards.
Again, its a ridiculous statement.

Really? Wasn't everything awful when the game launched and the 'age of hope' just started a couple months ago? Are they going to settle into the setting or just keep hitting timeskips?
$30 for 5 skaven, great.
Dark and Blood angels as separate books again. No surprise, no excitement, but still disappointed. Chaos daemons next year- as long as doesn't have wacky random charts for items and random effects each turn, it pretty much has to be an improvement. Though the return of undivided would be nice...
Are they really recycling all those covers?
Why would they combine Dark and Blood angels but leave 'chaos' 'goofy looking chaos' and 'goopy chaos' different books? That would be stupid.
Wouldn't be the first time they spontaneously changed direction mid-course with codexes. Particularly the DA codex as a pivot- remember the super-restrictive DA codex with terrible stormshield rules followed by the SM codex with... none of that and 3++ stormshields?

Yes, yes. Completely ridiculous since _GW_ sells 'Orruks' for $3.53 a model, and skellies for $2.48 a model.
Now you'll explain why push-fit nearly doubles the price point, yes?

Pricing is different for different product lines. Materials costs are the least relevant cost drivers tor basically any manufactured goods. Products are priced to what GW thinks the market will bear, as is everything sold in a capitalist system.

I think you might be the only person I’ve seen complain about the price of the Shadespire expansions. Not that that means you’re wrong to complain or anything, if it’s too expensive for you it’s too expensive for you, but I think as they’re expansions to a board game the price is pretty reasonable. You aren’t buying multiple boxes to make an army, it’s one and done.
I love the Darkoath Warqueen. I can see where people are coming from saying she’s underdressed or whatever but I don’t agree with it. She’s wearing as much as the Warcheif, and her pose is great.

Nope.
Unique character models typically cost 5 times the amount a normal model would cost. The clampack plastic models are the closest comparison in terms of detail, while still being easily customizable.
All the shadespire models are very inexpensive given that fact, as they are all unique sculpts with 0 duplicates and plenty of details. GW could charge far more for far less, and consistently do. Look at the Khardron overlords.
The fact that they are push fit really doesn't mean much - it hardly affects conversions, takes very little skill or talent, and are some of the best examples of push fit done right.
And again, if you can't/don't want to afford them, cool w/e - nobody minds/cares.

Well crap, that Warqueen is incredible.
I'm actually kind of glad I put my Norse Marauders for Mordheim on-hold last year, the prospect that we might see a proper unit in the same style as her and the Chieftain - perhaps even, whisper it, a mixed-sex box with some less ornate female warriors too - is super exciting and would likely put many of the conversions I'd been attempting to shame. Even a wee Shadespire-size box would be welcome.
The Skaven band is also cool, silly AoS--size giant tails aside, and will also find a home in Mordheim for me; the Skaven plastics are lovely, but an Eshin warband looks kinda "flat" using them since there's not a lot of motion in the sculpts. Mixing these guys in should solve that issue admirably.
As to the price - yeah, if you're buying for the models not to actually play Shadespire the reality is skeleton-to-skeleton or ratman-to-ratman they're expensive in terms of pure numbers, but if you're buying them for the models you're not paying for X number of Y's, you're paying for the variety of pose. They're garbage value for building an army with, but that's a silly way to use them - they're for Shadespire, or other small-skirmish games, or for mini-characters like unit leaders. Whether they're worth the price for those reasons for you is up to you.

From the web page (which I can vouch for).
- 60 unique cards for use in games of Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire, broken down as follows:

- 10 ploys for Ironskull’s Boyz;
- 11 universal objectives, for use with any Warhammer Underworlds warband;
- 10 universal upgrades, for use with any Warhammer Underworlds warband;

Comparing the cards in Shadespire to MTG is absurd. MTG cards have a rarity value to them, and can be worth considerable amounts of money. The cards you get in a Shadespire box are not worth a lot of money, are hardly going to appreciate, and have no rarity attached to them. The comparison is completely invalid.

It'll be interesting to see if people trade shadespire cards like they do x-wing ones.
I doubt they will. Part of the issue in x-wing is needing multiples of a card that only comes with a particular ship that you don't want (eg the corvette).
I'm pretty sure you're only allowed one of each card in shadespire, and you're guaranteed to get one in each box. No need to re-buy anything.

MtG cards` rarity is forced, which makes the whole picture pretty funny: some shiny card costs hundreds of bucks. I`d much rather have a game, where I know 100%, what I`m getting, with no lootbox gambling attached. That`s why I appreciate cards drom Shadespire more. The only plus MtG cards have is better artwork.
Shadespire DLCs are cheaper, not only compared to many other GW kits and characters, but, for example, to Warmachine miniatures, Malifaux, Infinity. And I love Malifaux, so there is no bias. 17,5 quid gets you a minimum of 4 (large) plastic (which is a plus for me, as I like converting and don`t like chipping metal or cumbersome resin) detailed miniatures and a deck of cards. For about twice as much you get a crew box (the best value in Malifaux), which has 1-3 more minis and less cards.

The Skaven are...there. Hmh. So far I liked all Shadespire sculpts over the regular sculpts, but outside the chieftain these are not really more exciting than Island of Blood Skaven that could be bought for pennies with the arms reposed - which isn't too hard. I guess I was expecting some slick new Eshin sculpts or a big model included or even totally freaky and twisted Skyre clan rats with modifications and cables. If I get Shadespire I'll buy them, but I don't feel the need to rush out and get them for my normal Skaven. And I can't see tons of tiny rats running around the bases and climbing on their bigger cousins?!
The Darkoath lady is incredible. I like her buddy from Silvertower, and a full army would be great. I always liked Marauders a ton, but both their kit and their rules never allowed for a decent army with enough variety. I hope the regular Darkoath guys potentially coming are Bloodreaver size and not as big as the Chieftain, but GW will probably do a 5 man box of dudes towering over Sigmarines

Ever think of moving to a place that has good currency?
That's why you colonials get for rebelling against the metropolis! Go back into the fold and the almighty pound will be generous.
I'm so glad that came from a Spaniard in Barcelona. I have no idea what side of the recent political divide you're on, but for the potential irony factor .

Not even slightly. They're both plastic miniatures, made by the same company. Other than one being push-fit and made in coloured plastic there is no difference.

Yeah, no difference at all, it's not like one also includes a bunch of cards and is designed for a completely different game or anything.
Anyway, having just put together both the Ironjawz and Skellies, they're really pretty nice models. The skeletons in particular are really dynamic and interesting, and should be a lot of fun to paint up.
