I could stand them bringing back leman Russ, but only if they had him destroy a bloodletter that attacked him from behind by farting it it's face.

The only two that make sense are either Russ or The Lion. I know it seems odd to say the other three loyalists coming back would be underwhelming but the next Primarch needs to have a clash with Bobby G. I don't see Vulkan or Corax filling that role and the Khan just doesn't have a lot of background compared to the wolf or the lion.

Wouldn't dorn have the biggest conflict with guilleman?

I'm not counting any of the ones that are dead. So Sang, Ferrus and Dorn are out to me since I strongly dislike retcons unless absolutely necessary

Is dorn definitely dead? Last I heard they found his hand after a battle, nothing else. Did they ret on the fluff to definitely kill him?

No Dorn could still be alive. However I want to see old Iron hands come back and get some new iron hands to lead the Iron hands and then fight Fulgrim with his iron hands.

He's the most ambiguous of the three. Since GW has decided to dive deep into the past, I would love a BL series focusing on the first Black Crusade, and how that went down.

I’ll be honest, I would/will collect every Daemon Primarch they put out. Every. Single. One. I would also snag a Dorn model.

I also hope they bring Leman Russ back and Magnus obliterates him from the galaxy with a single thought.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I think Russ is the best choice – the Lion or Dorn would be such a massive boost to the Imperium's health that we'd be looking at a real change in pitch. Russ would be a boon but also bring disharmony, suspicion, and his story - what he's been up to for the last 10,000 years - gives lots of room to develop the narrative. Another casket-dump primarch emerging blinking into the 41st century would be a bit too copy-pasta, and would strengthen Roboute's hand in a very strait-laced way. (This is all my pretty basic opinion, of course.)

I don't think Lion would be a boost to the Imperium's health. He and Guilliman routinely butted heads, and most likely Lion would be certain he should be Lord Regent in Guilliman's place.

Not to mention that we have no idea what would happen when Lion learns what his 'Legion' have been up to for the last 10 thousand years!

I actually think it would be more interesting in terms of advancing the plot than Russ, but I am admittedly a little biased.

Yeah, Dorn could be either - I'm pretty sure he isn't on-screen dead, or "show me the body" comic-book dead, though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe confirmed dead-dead are Ferrus (Istvaan), Sanguinius (Terra), Horus (Terra) and Night Haunter (suicide-by-Callidus).

I'm not certain, but isn't one half of the twins meant to be dead-dead as well? Or did that get retcon'd in a bout of moustache-twirling?

Someone just vanishing for ten thousand years and then conveniently returning like nothing had happened is just stupid. As much as I dislike Guilliman's return, at least it made some logical sense; his body had been in the fridge the whole time.

I want The Lion to be the next to return in a genius/terrible cross release as a bonus model with 'Kill Team: Fallen and Unforgiven' (Box set).

But in actual seriousness, I would be disappointed if Dark Angels got the setup for their Primarch's return that they did and then had to wait for a long while.
And I would like to see a Deathwing/Fallen expansion for KT. But that's another topic...

I think if Russ returned hecd be seriously pissed off at the imperium. First remember how Logan grimnar objected to how the imperium betrayed the citizens if Armageddon after the first invasion by chaos. Grimnar condemned the high lords of Terra for the obscenity they inflicted on the loyal citizens who fought the chaos invasion. (The high lords apparently quietly sent an imperial assassin to silence grimnar, the assassin's remains now apparently reside in the space wolves museum.)

Then after fenris was invaded by chaos grimnar consented, reluctantly, to the fenisian peolle being slaughtered by imperial forces afterwards.

Man, if Russ came back I do believe he would be mighitily pissed at the imperium and possibly grimnar for their dishonor.

I still hope hawk boy gets used for little more than an avatar of the emperor's will, like a living saint just primarch sized. Or pops up and is a living incarnation of the black thirst. His body is in stasis somewhere. And to all the 'but that defeats the-" no, it defeats nothing, it turns the supposed walking examplar of imperial virtue and beauty and turns him into the monster he actually was and leaves the imperium holding the bag on dealing with him. Plus I want to see him come back in no small part to remind everyone how little 'lore' means in 40k.

Why? It can do both. Adding to and evolving the lore doesn't automatically disrespect it.

How the hell did you get that out of what was said?

he didn't say "I want him to come back and add to and evolve the lore in a respectful way".

In fact he said almost the direct opposite. "I want to see him come back in no small part to remind everyone how little 'lore' means in 40k.
