Subject: Scratch Building.... a first adventure into the unknown....
Thanks again for the comments..... & I have to agree with the comments.... when you see the chain with the naked eye... it doesn't shine so much as when you view it in the pictures... I will have a look at griming it up a little...
Oh... another point... and a wee request... As you might know I have taken part in another of the awesome LoER build competitions.... The time for voting for the winner and deciding the champ has come.... There are some awesome entries and some really talented guys out there producing work..... the link below is to the voting page of the comp... Would be cool if you wanted to go and have a look It is a great group to be a part of! ... I am very happy with my entry for this comp... I feel I nailed the brief and produced a nicely detailed and interesting piece... If you agree.. it would be cool if you might head on over and vote.... and take a look at the other cool entries!
honestly?.. i have fat chance... graven and you will have to fight that one amongst yourself... although only thirteen peeps already have only voted....^^
haha... thanks Vik! To be honest I am not looking at the voting..... "yet"...... I am happy with my entry but also know there are some top moddelers and builders out there! You are very much included in that!
But another little link to the voting would not go a miss...
You got my vote mate.
Yours really is the best piece there, so i would have voted for it anyway. just the right amount of details.
Congrats, enjoy all the internets you'll win

Camkierhi wrote:Will you model the trap door with shute to the "Pie factory". Or just cool chair with said trap door behind?
Looking forward to this.
Hi Mate, Thanks for looking in..... My intention currently is to model the chair with the trapdoor and chute.... heading down into darkness... "the pie shop" I will sketch up something and try to plan it out so I have enough time)
inmygravenimage wrote:Nice dkok! And interesting sketches - thanks for shouting out the contest!

Subject: Re:Scratch Building.... a first adventure into the unknown....
Thanks mate! Really appreciate it! I got a wee bottle of "Vallejo French Blue" in a cheap E-Bay lot... its a lovely colour..... wanted to try out and get the same kind of WW1 look.... I have another DKoK I want to paint also.... so going to try the same technique but with slightly less coffee wash and just use the Agrax....
Oh... and got myself a new mobile phone with a much better camera than my tablet I was using previously... so will definetly try and improve my photography skils...
Yeah they certainly seem to be pretty awesome..... am a big fan of the WW1 French & German uniform colours... but also think nothing conveys a more militaristic style than a good "tattie sack green" .... the Russian colours are pretty interesting too! so many thing to try and colours to have!
Automatically Appended Next Post: So Next up I have a few wee bits and bobs to be cracking on with..... these are not in any particular order...
1: The next round of the LoER Competitions.... "The Trapdoor" Featuring Greeny Todd the Demon Ork Barbor....
2: The base for my DKoK trooper....
3. Trench/bunker/heavy bolter position..... for E-Bay to raise some funds... sand bags and mud ahoy!
4. My FIRST COMMISION PIECE!!! OR fair trade piece perhaps! Artillery tractor taken from a Leman Russ Tank Hull...
5. Macharius Mk1
6. Hercules Base
7. Big Steamy the steam powered tank...
8. Paint experiment with "Crackle Effect & Typhus Corrosion.......... to be explained more later....
So I think that will just about do it until about XMAS!!!
Looking forward to getting stuck into all of them but first I need a real tidy and clear of my work space.. its true but the smaller the workspace.. the less it takes to make it look messy!
Cheers All,
Automatically Appended Next Post: Another AutoApend no doubt.......
But just incase anyone is interested..... "Ole Toothless" My scratchbuilt Malcador Heavy Support Tank is up for sale on E-Bay.....
I bought an ORK!!! was just sifting through E-Bay last night and picked up one of the AOBR Ork Warboss models.... was only £2 so I cant complain! Gives me another model to practice my painting on...... better add him to the list!
