Update #95

More Goritsi Painted Photos

Greetings, backers! Another studio paint job from House Goritsi to show you today.

We have "Ironeyes" Irene von Goritsi herself! Irene is a Kickstarter exclusive sculpt. She is of the Goritsi line, but can be played as a mercenary.

Whoa- "ironeyes" looks awesome! Not sure how much is the painter, but that is impressive.

"How much is the painter"?

I'm going to say " A lot " and at the same time agree that it is a very nice model...

My prediction is now that the bases kickstarter is over they are free to announce a new round of delays without worrying about losing pledges elsewhere. Oh well, it will get here eventually, and it does look absolutely great. Wish I could paint that well.

Good to hear such well grounded rumor mongering.

Considering how long it seems to be taking them to get Arcadia Quest out, my guess is Wrath of Kings is ready to ship, but we won't hear anything until AQ finishes up.

I would be okay with this. So would a lot of other people I think. I just don't see that happening. I think they would have let us know where things were currently- we haven't heard if all the figures were in their warehouses or anything, have we?

Once this ships out, CMON really won't have too many outstanding campaigns at that point- the perfect time to start either The Others or Rum/Ron and Bones, right?

I'm wondering which we'll see next.

Still surprised CMON hasn't tried their hand at a Heroquest/ Warhammer Quest style game. Arcadia could have gone that route, but after messing around with it the other day, it definitely is not an exploration heavy/ heroes vs the dungeon style game.

I thought we had in fact heard that the miniatures have already been produced, and now we're only waiting on the printed materials.

Also:

Creator CoolMiniOrNot 5 days ago

The delay in Update 94 (printing) was set to be resolved within 6-8 weeks from the date of that post. Unfortunately right now is Chinese National Day (A weeklong holiday running October 1-7).

We'll have a firmer idea of exactly what is going on after that, and I'm sure Mr. Black will update you then- right now he's been working to get all information and dates sorted so you guys know exactly what is going on and when.

Now we can add CND to list along with CNY I suppose...

Yup, thanks to CNY and CND the new ETA is still TBD.

If Relic Knights taught us anything, it is this: until minis are in hand CMoN is able to delay a project further. 11:59:59 delays are the norm, not the exception.

I just like how National Day translates into a week long celebration. Day. National DAY. D.A.Y.

4th of July should be a month long celebration then. Gotta celebrate that independence.

Although some would argue that every day living in 'Murica is an independence day.

Didn't they just start shipping last week?

I mean, except they aren't.

I guess if you want to use Relic Knights, the project with whom they had a business partner that they are no longer partnered with making major decisions, as your only exemplar you could come to that conclusion. Their track record with pretty much every other project says otherwise.

I think they've started getting some of the plastics in house and the goal is still to get everything shipped before the New Year.

If I had to guess, I'd say R&B, but I'm not entirely sure. I'm basing that purely on the "more info has come out lately about R&B than the others" basis.

Still surprised CMON hasn't tried their hand at a Heroquest/ Warhammer Quest style game. Arcadia could have gone that route, but after messing around with it the other day, it definitely is not an exploration heavy/ heroes vs the dungeon style game.

I wonder if that has something to do with the fact that, previously, they had Super Dungeon as a property they were publishing? I imagine you'd need a fair amount of playtest time to get something like that "right."

And I may be talking out of my ass, but for some reason I think CMoN might have secured the SMOG property from Smart Max. I really don't know if this is right, but I could have sworn I saw a brochure or something at GenCon that said this....

I'd like CMON to come up with a Heroquest-type of dungeon exploring came.

I'd really like that...

Almost two weeks ago (first box went out the 26th), but t'm figuring in the time they sat on the AQ shipment after it arriving, in lieu of them finishing up shipping out Rivet Wars Wave 2. That's where my guess on WoK being ready to go, but waiting on AQ to finish up came from.

Don't quote me here, but I think they were shipping dogs of war at the same time too.

Since folk seem to be using Arcadia Quest shipping as a guide as to what might be happening with Wrath of Kings it should be pointed out that while the US (and Canadian) shipping is underway

the EU and APAC stuff is still in China and has not event started packing

why they could they not had have at least started packing in the many weeks it took for the US loads to travel by sea to the US, go through customs, sit in CMONs warehouse while they finished shipping of the other projects they were sending out I don't understand

It happened with Relic Knights and I was willing to give them a pass as it was the first shipping from china they'd done, and they were separating from Soda Pop but they've clearly not learned from their mistakes

Pure speculation here, but It wouldn't surprise me if they have to schedule shipping windows for that stuff. It's not like they have control of those 3rd party warehouses overseas.

But then again, as a NA backer, I don't have to wait as long as ya'll unless its on a non-NA KS, which, to be honest, I avoid if I can because of the shipping.

I really don't mind waiting longer (I actually expect to as the ship journey to Europe seems to take 2-3 weeks longer on average)

but thought that things are happening only to find out a month down the line that nothing has actually happened is really annoying

I really wish they'd say up front, "oh we've got the stuff to the 3rd party shipping warehouse it's down to them when they get to it, but we'll keep pushing them to start ASAP"

That way I don't get my hopes up until I've been told stuff is moving

(Come on CMON, your KS themselves keep getting better run, why oh why can't you get the coms afterwards sorted out both this and AQ had been going so well....)

Update #97

Oct 10 2014

Production Update (10/10/2014)

Hello Backers, Mr. Black here, and I've received some news from our production manager.

I wanted to get you guys something sooner, but (as previously mentioned in the comments) last week (10-1 through 10-7) was Chinese National Day, which meant that our production factory was shut down the entire week.

Now that things have reopened and the initial post-holiday surge died down, we got a report from them on the status of Wrath of Kings.

Basically, they have reported to us that everything is running smoothly and they have given us an estimated completion time frame of early November.

What this means is that, if that estimated timeframe holds true, that everything for Wrath will be packaged, finalized, etc etc and will then be ready for the distribution process to begin.

While I would like to have more information for you guys, this was the extent of what our production manager could provide at this time- We're of course working to get any further information we can, but given this is the first week back from a weeklong holiday for our factory, it has proven to be somewhat difficult to get anything more conclusive than the early November timeframe.

I will update you as more comes in.

In the meantime we're working on a new Battle Report for you guys as well, which I hope to have posted up soon.

Until next time.

-Mr. Black

See you in...2015!

And hopefully before CNY!

Please?

I still think that is possible...

I think he means,

Gosh WoK is really doing well and will be nowhere near as late as RK

(although with SDE Forgotten King possibly hitting a very late December ship date (plenty of time for that to slip too) this is beginning to look embarrassing for CMON)

Sad to hear about the delays for backers of this. Judging by past CMON performance in getting their Kickstarter projects to retail should I expect to see this in summer or autumn 2015 or maybe later?

Also what material are the majority of models in?

I think CMON will beat that estimate by a lot.

The material is a 'new' and 'improved' PVC - (allegedly) harder than what we've seen so far.

Better than the Relic Knights stuff - I think?
