i think to spare dave the gasping you should use the wheels you currently use... looks quite in scale for me already... the dozerblade looks very good... if you keep that level of detail all over the build then you are golden!
i particulraly like how you used that machinespirit part on top!... that sells the piece!

the hover fella... the guitar string looks totally the part! thank the lords you seldom paint anything you scratchbuild... otherwise i wouldn´t know where to hide my face in shame

Zamboni is looking good already, i like the shape.

I think that in the back would look cool to have a basket with all the stuff that It's possible to reuse, like scrap metal, pieces of armors, etc.
The Zamboni could have a special system for saving them.

The hoover is looking awesome

Okay, Lego idea aborted, thought why not use my circle cutters right after I posted. So I used the hole punchers and cut some foam core tires. I also did a little work on the body adding detail and on the tail section. Might be able to make a wire basket for the back, I'll think about that idea. Also different head used in this picture. Might have an idea for the other head.

Yeah, I think it looks better with the smaller wheels too, just add riveted hubcaps to those wheels.

Yeah, I wasn't liking the new tires either, was thinking they needed to be larger. Old tires will go back on. What about the head, keep that one, or bring back the larger one?

I went downstairs with the intention of working on the zamboni. But you know how you see a piece and something pops into your head? Well for a lot of he wall sections I have been stealing pieces from a drop pod. Well now I have the bottom piece which has lots of detail and I'm loving the pentagon shape to it, but what to build. Well I've done. Bunch o squares and circles, how about a pentagon tower? Cutting and gluing commenced, mainly gluing my fingers, but it's better that than cutting my fingers, right? So here's the beginning of the security tower.

I will build a door on one side, and attach a hatch to the top. I figure I'll put walls around the upper part of the platform, not sure if I'll enclose it o not though. Probably not, but if I did then I could do windows all around.

Also ordered servo skulls and some other bits for builds, hopefully have them by Thursday night.

Very cool tower! you should add some thin rings around it at intervals for walkways to attach! Unless this is for the bloodbowl board.

Thanks Dave, no external walkways as this is more of a security tower. I have added a floor hatch to the top and. Doorway at the bottom as well as some more detailing, still a long way to go yet.

Not much to show for today so far. Lots of time with kids (it's summer after all). I did place some orders, so expect some nice supply drops next week.

@selvaggiosaky, I think this is going to be topless (calm down guys) , I'll rig up som lights below he tower, and it's not a heavy emplacement with a turret, although that might appear later.

It's hard to see from the photos, I know nothing new there . But I trimmed the five corners with l channel, which will get rivets down both sides. I want the tower as plain as possible, because I'd be a terrible villain, and not give the good guys any chance of a foothold for scaling the building. I see the center column as almost solid, except for the internal ladder to climb to the top. Yes ladder, because if battle ensues we don want our guards to be stuck in an elevator listening to Muzak. Thought about gun slits along the height of the tower, but once again that would make a weak spot o be exploited. Besides, if the enemy is close enough to be handled with small arms then someone has up.

Picked up a can of gray spray paint at Walmart and used it to prime the floor of the bloodbowl pitch/sump pit. I'll need to get at least two more cans to do a second coat and be able to do walls and dug outs. It's much lighter than my adeptus standard gray, which I'm glad about, makes it look even more like concrete.

Pin insert to show where squares are, replaces the black x used in bloodbowl.

I like how the pin doesn't show when standing back from the board, but up close they are visible

Waiting to pick my son up from flag football practice. Then an hour after that take his twin sister to cheer camp. Later tonight they have another vbs. at least all of it is within walking distance of our house, I'm getting exercise. That's how this week is planned out so little spots of work between Lego, Barbie, cards, and trips to the library.

I mixed play sand into grey craft paint and rolled it on with one of those small trim rollers on my board, it gives a really hard texture that stands up to gaming without scratching. I then glued down woodland scenics vinyl grass mat on the other side of the board so I can flip it for tw different environments.

I'll have to keep that in mind for the table when I start work on it, but for the pitch I wanted the e tea cushion of the cork because your always laying models down on it and I didn't want anything to scuff them when I actually paint.

Wife gave me a few minutes of free time. So I stopped by that train shop near me...
Supply drop.

$13.92 later and I got two of the atlas train trestle, a funky light tower and a turntable for ho scale model trains that still works. Also got another tube of glue in the bag too. I'm quite proud of the hual.

It's not aged wood look Dave but layers upon layers of dust , so I guess they could have "painted" it that way. If so then I "paint" more than I realize

My mind keeps wandering off track with these side projects. I found myself rooting through the bits boxes again yesterday looking for inspiration. Had to stop because what I wanted to do was going to make too much noise and wake the kids.

I have to figure a way to make a strong yet tiny (1/8") ball joint for my plan to com to fruition, any ideas?

Vikbot looks good.

I had a think about making a working ball and socket joint. A picture says a thousand words, see below.
Probably not going to be the best joint in the world or the easiest to make at that scale, but I would think, possible.
The hole in the socket only needs to be small enough to stop the ball passing through, the larger the hole the greater the freedom of movement.

Alternately press your chosen ball (the head of a pin as an idea for that part) into two pieces of greenstuff to make two halves of the socket. Cut a groove in the edge of each for the peg that is attached to the ball...

Neither of which will be as good as you could get from a toy though...

Thanks Dr. H, that's what I was aiming for

Unfortunately my mind started to go another direction as soon as I submitted my last post. Seems the mechanicus is trying to convert me. They have a whole division of servitors trying to recruit me to develop a janitorial army . In this army they needed more firepower however so I give you Killbot Alpha.

Armed with twin assault cannons

And ready for a night on the town

Inspiration from the old warhammer 40,000 compendium

Hopefully this doesn't turn into a cohort.

More servo skulls , these re new to me they come from the imperial guard stuff and from he grey knight stuff. Also got three sentinel pilots for other projects I have ideas for.

Waiting for other servo skulls to come from other bits sites and at least one other person on dakka is donating some. I think I feel the grim dark humor of the void calling for an entire army , and I feel like obliging it.
