Take a camera along

I take mine to my games, and get at least one shot per person turn.

Generally my photo-fu is weak, and the photo comes out terrible, but its usually enough to remind me what was going on

Sorry to say, but sign up has closed. Apologies, we had to call it quits at some point so that warzone commanders could focus on what was happening in their zone, and not worry about a constant stream of new players.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Someone needs to edit the title to mention that sign ups are closed, so people will know. I'll admit, it's probably a bit confusing to see the sign up thread still going only to be told that signups are over.

Also, if you guys think you'll be doing another campaign, I'll look through the thread and get all the names of profiles that are late so you can contact them for the next one if you'd like

Next time I would ask we allow new players to join. Allowing new players to join in would help balance out players that drop from the campaign and could be called reinforcements to which ever side they join. It also keeps the campaign fresh!

It also creates a logistical nightmare for the mods, which was part of the reason for closing the signup.

It might be worth thinking about though, if we can get things better organised for next time.

Good to know.

Once we have the mechanics thrashed out we can look at fluff

What might be a good idea is for each side to have a PR officer to talk up their side's victories on the shared forum, and downplay their losses, in an 'in-character' kind of way

Sounds reasonable to me, I just loves me some fluff!
Maybe have one MOD per "faction" (Necrons, CSM, IG ect ect) to kinda smooth out the workload for everyone?

That would smooth it out and allow more complexity in.

It would seriously complicate the campaign mechanics to have each faction have its own mechanic and goals though. Even with one mod per faction to keep the players on track it would make the admin side of the campaign a lot more complicated to run.

One of the main goals for the next campaign is improved communication, with daily or at least weekly updates of fluff and crunch. For two factions it's possible to get all that fluff and crunch sorted fairly quickly (though it still takes an unreasonable amount of time to run the math and type up all the fluff in a cohesive manner). For six or more factions ...yeah...

Personally i'd like to keep the next DDWWC pretty simple, not add more complexity to it. Find out what we can do, and how much effort/time is involved per faction for getting daily/weekly fluff and crunch out on time in a cohesive manner.

DDWWC 3 could then take those results, and up the complexity level if need be.

Part of the issue, for me, is that I don't want the fluff to go the GW route, with 90% of the stories contradicting (as they would if multiple writers were bashing them out in a hurry). This works on a setting-level, but in a real-time single system conflict it would just be confusing.

Another issue we had in DDWWC1 was that we had a couple of mods just vanish due to one reason or another. If a faction Mod just vanished that faction would be SOL.
