Good stuff, that darker grey/purple skin tone really does work on the Plague.

Thanks. I usually just copy the suggested paint schemes for whatever models I'm working on, but I've decided with Deadzone to try something new for each force. I'm very pleased with how the Plague are looking so far.

That and the orrible bright pinks from their in-house paint scheme doesn't really say menacing evil alien plague mutants. Apart from the Stage 1 who'd look badass regardless of the colour you painted him lol.

Yeah I agree, I think Mantic were going for a look which tried to convey explosive growth and blood pumping rage but in the end it just kinda looked like pissed off Frankenberry clones.

Colours like grey, green, black, blues and pale whites etc.. these are far more fitting for mutant horrors I think.

Last of the Stage 3s.

And now I'm starting on the Stage 1.

Man, I really need to finish Howlett and get back into this thread. You guys are all making the topic-creator look bad.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Speaking of Howlett, timetowaste, how did the cast turn out? Is it good quality, or a slightly misshapen mess to clean up like my metal Enforcer Peacekeeper captain was?

I like the Howlett model and am considering it for round 3, but really wasn't impressed by my first encounter with Mantic metal casts.

Great work! I'm struggling to get the rest of my marauders done. I just have the Pyro, 1 Comamando, the Mauler and the Mawbeasts to go, and then I've got all of the initial wave done, but I just can't get motivated to finish off the few minis I have to go.

Cheers everybody, I just hope I can do a decent job on the next one. For the moment thought im giving the suits a rest and working on the last few pieces of scenery to give my brain a rest because im also loosing the motivation to get the last few minis done. I guess picking up a copy of space hulk yestersay didnt help with my commitment and focus.

Hey everybody, I've been thinking about producing custom scenery for wargames, mostly things like 40k but was thinking about doing a few bits for Deadzone etc... I could do with a few suggestions though so if you have any ideas post them up herehttp://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/615308.page#7206091 hopefully I can start playing around and making stuff soon.

Took a little break from painting anything too complicated and focused on a few scenery pieces for the Deadzone board, so here's my little collection of crates and barrels to be scattered about

Looks like the Rebs met a bit of resistance from an Ork raiding party when scavenging from some much needed supplies

I like the bright colors and the wear/tear is also fancy. Nice cinematic battle shot there

Has anyone painted any Asterian Cyphers yet? I have my starter cleaned, washed and ready for basing, but I can't seem to come up with a good color scheme for them...

hmm good question, I'm still undecided myself I was playing with the idea of purple and cream or possibly turquoise and white.

Mine are going to be VGA desert yellow and dark grey/charcoal, with I think purple highlights. Kinda like the Zorg Industries ZF-1, but without the camo pattern and gray instead of metallic.

I just got mine in the mail (received from another backer), so I haven't started yet. I planned to do a Z-Bot theme with them, but a bunch of people requested I go Ultron with them, to keep my Marvel scheme going. So, in that regard they will look like Ultron when I'm done.
