MCs, unlike vehicles, have wounds and therefore having a cover save is all that is needed for them to use that save against wounds - unlike vehicles they dont need to "transform" the save into something else.

You guys are looking at this all wrong and this post could have been finished much quicker. If a model is within 6" of a venomthrope it gains *shrouded. Rules for Shrouded are as follows: A unit that contains at least one model with this
special rule counts its cover save as being 2 points better than normal. Note that this means a model with the Shrouded special rule always has a cover save of at least 5+, even if it’s in the open.

This thread was 4 years, a codex, and 3 editions ago. (5th edition).

Perhaps you should look at the dates first?

And people wonder why there is a tenet against Thread Necromancy.
