Cool asteroid bro.

Looks like a fun project to use up junk. Its amazing what you can make look like a space station. I think the printer carts look fine, you are probably just too familiar with them. I haven't used a printer for years so they look just like a space station to me.

Thanks pet. I need them to still look like cartridges though, that's part of the contest much junk fun was had though, regardless.

Also, because we don't like to play favourites :

One of the guys on the wars boards said it would work well for Armada, then explained how it works on armada.

So I had to make an X-Wing version of that

the only thing is i think you nailed the star wars look with that one, but i can´t shake off the feeling that for a star trek facility either faction it lacks a certain convincing look for that universe... hmmm... but maybe it is just me that actively only is able to picture a star trek space station that looks like deep space 9...talk about conditioning...

Effort that leaves an X and a TIE to do Tie needs to be slightly more distinctive I think than the others, might give it kill markings (single red stripe along middle of wings). X-Wing likely to be another member of Red Squadron. Preferences?

If your looking for inspiration for a project have a loo at Paradigm's monthly painting challenge thing. This month is Monster if that helps.

It is an oath we honour. Thanks on both counts buddy boy!

So, rubbish morning - discovered my car's passenger door had been jimmied in the night. Not much taken, old iPhone 3 we owe as music player and emergency phone, left the sat nav and didn't really do much more than scratch the paint a bit (and it's a Honda, so the paint mostly sucks) - spoke to police, not much can be done. Mostly, it's just the sense of violation. Sucks.

Anyway, while waiting for the police, occupied myself by starting my last two repaints :

Yeah, I had in mind those kind of havens - I'm a DS9 guy at heart, I could see the Orions operating out of something like this : nod:

So, couple of repaints. Veteran TIEs get a red stripe as a kill marking. Cue experiments with tamiya masking tape:

Poor focus there on the last one, sorry, but you get the idea?

And Wedge Antilles in Red 3, completing the squadron for now (I'll do a group shot anon, but I might wait till I get another one so I can do Jek Porkins too)

Well, no, but there's references in the books to imperial pilots with ten confirmed kills permitted a red stripe across their wings. I think her armour is explained in a later episode; Sabine's a great character, although sadly many Bothans will die...

I wanted it to be even grubbier than the other 2 because Wedge was the only pilot to successfully fly in both trench runs, so really wanted to am up the Veteran feel. Also, I'm a moron: I gave Red 2 3 stripes so fixed that while edging up the white a bit more.

Better now.
Have discovered I have a Slave 1 coming my way as part of birthday-ness. Expect some scummy goodness
