But aren't the hardback books compendiums of the Indexes?

All I know is that there's 5 indexes. Two Imperial, one Chaos, two Xenos. And a new "Black Book" core rulebook.

Aha! Thanks Randy! It makes sense I guess, since the hardpoint-mounted lascannons were always FW or converted.

That's debatable.

---

Life, as we know, is full of wants and sacrifice. For example, I wanted an Aquila Lander. I consider it to be one of Forge World's greatest works of art. Sadly, they pulled it right around the time of the Dark Angels 7th edition codex.

So, after trying to find one through normal channels, I looked for options. The tutorial for turning the crashed lander into a non-crashed one didn't really float my boat. So, I turned to other means. I have no guilt, because the object was 100% OOP, and unavailable on the secondary market.

Regretfully, the canopies were total arse, obscuring the amazing detail of the pilot and observation chambers. I tried an SoB turret glass, but it was way too small.

So I sacrificed parts of a crashed Aquila Lander, as seen below:

Heh. No, I just don't have any place to play, so motivation is just GONE. Plus, I've been dealing with depression (mostly successfully), and "real life".

Now that I have a foundation under my feet again, it is time to try and get back into the things I truly enjoy.

I could use all the support I can get.

You've got it Brian! Very excited to see you get that big boy together!

I know you're not playing much at the moment... but my thoughts on knight load-outs having played them quite a bit...

The Crusader is probably the best build at the moment. Because of the utility of "stomp", the knight doesn't really need any dedicated CC weapon to be effective. As a result, the knight variation with the sword and fist is probably the worst build at the moment.

The gatling gun, battle cannon and meltathingy are all quite viable. I'm really liking the melta myself. I think the carapace missile rack is a better choice than the autocannon.

Obviously you should build what inspires you, but I thought I'd volunteer a bit of tactical analysis in case you think you might actually get a chance to play.

Thank you, it is most appreciated! I was reading over the codex, and re-reading the main rule-book, and that is what really "got" me. All those CC weapons, and...you can use one of them at a time. Not very "Epic", let me tell you!

Agreed. Ramos made me one of the 2cc knights (sword and fist) and right now he's just sitting on the shelf. :/

That being said... my FW knight lancer is a god.... but you have to put him in the right circumstances to be effective.

Forced static poses can suck my left nut.

First, some leg surgery:

Now, we can pose this a little better. Practice your lunges!

Side note. This model was designed to have some form of interior. Note the mounting points inside the sub-assembly.

A little subtle lighting for this one. Noch brand pre-wired surface mount led, made for model railroad lighting.

A little poster tack, and we strike a pose!

Questions? Comments? Fruit Pie?
