Hi all! I decided to make the last 6 guys kind of special troops, they have the but guards and helmets I used from the Valkir, they are getting grenades, and special pouches one I had to make do with a different piece for a should pauldron as I lost one it seems.
So the special "Dire Wolves" with their Wolf-Snaut masks, and the other odd bits. and I did a head swap, using a WH Scion head, Beret and eyepatch for the leader.

I call him Sergeant Hasselhoff, or as he is known to many, Der Hoff!

The Dire-Wolves will drop for any kind of mission, of the Kreugerians, who are already like Mandalorians, these guys are elite amongst the elite just as much as the Nacht-Jaegers, and the Jungle Kommandos. (I will give them a green base, but use the Nacht-Jaeger camo patches of grey and black for a distinct look!

I just wanted to drop in and say that I'm a fan of your work. I went through this thread and your gallery, and the tank porn is outstanding. In fact, it's inspired me to get back into the paint and modeling game.

I look forward to seeing what else you cook up.

It is so nice to see I have fans! I have a new base color that will fit the Dire Wolves team. It is labeled "Jungle Camo" and is a green based paint. added with the black and gray splinters, they will stand out from the others and Nacht-Jaegers!

Once done with the troops, I have a small TD in the works, some more troop crawlers, and I am working in my head a Verti-Bird/Valyrie air craft for the rest of this year!

Vik, I saw the eye-patch, recalled his being cast in a cheesy 90's Marvel movie as Nick Fury, and just had to go for it!

Yeah, as you pointed out, the comically bulky GW flamer was a bit much! the WGF flamers from the Greatcoats was better scaled, and fits in better.

Grew up reading those Marvel Comics, They gave Captain America the Howling Commandos in the movies,,,was good to see them brought to life. Now as for the colors, the black is the base primer, then I applied the Muddy Olive for the main armor and helms, the Mask, knee and elbow pads are Field Gray, and the under body suit of ballistic material is Military Gray, all in dropper bottles by Reaper Paints. I can see the Field Gray will need touch ups as the Muddy Olive seems to have slipped onto some of the masks,

But do not worry, Der Hoff will lead the Dire Wolves to victories!

Theophony wrote:Definitely like the more streamlined flamer. Just goes to show you how awe-full GW scaling is.

Oh yeah! their hands are the same scale as 1/35 scale soldiers, and the weapons are way comically large, I mean, looking at how big the Leman Russ Battle Cannon is compared to a 1/35scale MBT cannon, they call it in their diagram as a 120mm Battle Cannon, it is several times bigger than an actual 1/35 scale main gun of the 125mm on my 1/35 scale T-64!

Anywhoo, here is the 2nd squad I made from that last drop.

Both squads used up the last of my brush on black primer,,,,the Dire Wolves got the white primer.......

Agreed. Although I will have to say that the Forge World sculpts are actually better in that regard.

Yes, yes I do, I am admittedly "old school" I needed dry weather to spray the last of my canned black primer spray, so went with hand primer.

The Dire Wolves.

There is no school like old school.

The only thing I don't do by hand myself is prime. I pretty much use Krylon Fusion on my plastic stuff. Haven't decided what I'm going to use for resins and metals yet.

My spray on primer also bonds to plastic
Rust-O-leum American Accents black primer, also useful for the other mediums, resins, woods, metals, as well as the plastics.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to give Rust-O-leum a shot.

If you get a chance, check out my gallery. Projects are not finished and it's the first time I've picked up a brush in a while. But I can use some critique from a pro.

Me, a pro?

No problem, I will look at them and the rust-o-leum does a silky finish for a primer, must be that bonding tech.

Okay, I see the paint used on that tank could use another coat, no heavy ones, just keep them light and they will layer well, and smooth. Also, the road wheels can uses more solidifying the colors so that they have the whole wheel colored right, not just those ribs. But nice projects, the MOBAT I assume the Wolverine is different machine based on what I saw.

The Gunadm model, I will warn you, the torsions are brittle, best to fill them with some putty, and some wire as it can be easy to crack them, as mine did while transporting it for a Apoc fight.(I did not glue the upper deck to the hull for emergency repairs, it helped me a lot for repairs, allows for the treads to come off easier for fixing things in case what happened to me hits the model).

But so far good stuff, you ought to make a thread for that work

No problem, it is an expensive kit and should not have such issues, but they went hollow on the arms for the torsion suspension as you could see.

I have visited, and so will likely haunt you ,

right now, I am simply covering bare spots, and then touching up other areas before I detail and camo

Well, it helps I have many sub-factions to play with Grim! Been seeing the stuff you have worked on when not drained of energy,

What color beret to go with for Der Hoff?

I've always been partial toward traditional military colors, like burgundy (my fave), for berets.

But if you've settled on the shade of green I'm seeing, light blue might be a better choice.

They will be getting an interestingly different than usual camo mix on their armor, and I have a color called "Deep Red" that is very much a wine/burgundy reddish color. I also have some deep greens such as Pine Green, and I have plenty of blues. I also wondered about black, but that will be the eye-patch(classics).

Thanks, I was pondering, but there are many para units that use the reddish color. Lie as I have named him "Der Hoff" and the Eisenker(Kruegerians) are German based, I went for this look, I even looked up "German Airborne Berets" and got

Thank you. While I did go for the German style, it also is a color we and other allied nations use for similar units. While the Green Berets are a noted special forces unit, our other specialists like the 82nd airborne use a reddish beret
