Its rather funny, i had my own idea for a while to make a PDF force, but until now wasn't certain how i'd go about organizing them.... now to get some Indian commonwealth heads

Spoiler alert. these things look aces! I'm amazed at how he had the time and patience to sort out the sentinels but they look good as new.

Technically I had the one on the left before, this shot is just of my Armoured Sentinel squadron, one of the new ones is a Scout, more pics:

Old Sentinels are both on left, I had 1 Armoured and 1 Scout, now I have 3 Armoured and 2 Scouts..bwahahahahaha

I have some much nicer individual shots in the gallery that I'll post up here probably tomorrow, hope you like 'em..

It seems, when i moved this last time, a large chunk of my most recent experiments for the indian regiment were damaged, mostly to the tune of broken pieces, and all of the heads are missing, so now i need to start somewhat afresh, as i didn't have many to begin with, just a squad or two for testing

That's always horrible when stuff get trashed, hope it fixes up, weird that all the heads went? Racist poltergeist?

Speaking of finding things, after literally taking my painting room apart and not finding the blade off my Callidus and being resigned to it being lost, it fell off a base of a model when I was packing up for a game. YAY. I've glued it back and stuck a chunk of GS on the reverse to hold it there (hopefully).

Here are some of the close up shots of some the new Sentinels, taken in a 'light tent', still didn't manage to quite get what I wanted but still better..

'Leader' of my Armoured Sentinel squadron 'Sparky'.

'Ultra' in tiny letters on the door, why?, just because..HK is magnetised. New style basing nicely shown off here.

BFG, not magnetised, I figured with all that extra gubbins it wouldn't work too well. Bits of various crap were embedded in the polyfilla that makes up the matrix of the base; Leman Russ track, bits of FoW crap from old commissions and the mount for the stupid chainsaws I pulled off all of these Sentinels etc.

Hope you likey!

More to follow!

I was able to magnetize my sentinel plasma cannons just fine.
I simply glued the hoses to the cannon, then inserted a small magnet into the square hole for the hose, as well as drilling out and putting one in the square peg that slots into the hole.

Most of the weight is held by the the larger magnet attached to the cannon and the smaller one just ensures the hoses stay stuck to the sentinel instead of hovering just off it.

Yeah I didn't want to magnetize both a weapon and a power pack as it'd be too fiddly and prone to getting lost, the plasma cannon would be ok as it'd be one big unit, but say a multi laser and power pack would be a pain. There's enough other Sentinels who are magnetic.

Have you had a chance to do much more modelling?

No, still havent been able to build the desk. There's so much other stuff at this house that needs fixing first. Its depressing.

Fortunately the sculpture class I'm taking (I needed hours) is serving as somewhat of an outlet. I did a bronze sculpture of a valkyrie for my first term project. May throw pictures of it up in my blog. Trying to figure out a way to base/mount her, then I might use her as terrain or an objective.

Oh man you ROCKED those Assassins! Great job w/ the highlights, they came out really well and the freehand on the sword / pistol is great.

Can't say I'm in love w/ the freehand on the Sentinel though. I feel you've done better w/ freehand on other pieces. And since it is obvious how much work you put into the rest of the model... maybe consider giving that another go?

Glad you liked the space ninjas, I was really pleased with them myself actually, here they are if you missed them:

More pics and zoomable in the gallery.

Sorry you didn't like the freehand on the Sentinel, anything in particular? It's not got got a lot on there, is it the lightening bolt?

More Sentinels?

More Sentinels.

Another Armoured bad boy. The inverted 'U' of silver 'battle damage' is glue scarring from where I pulled off a Catachan back pack.

Both the Lascannon and HK are magnetised. The foot on the right is supposed to be crushing a beam.

Here's the one I already had, took some pics for completeness..same configuration as above..

So that's my lovely Armoured squadron, I've got some of the new Scout Sentinel and I'll post them up soon!

C&C always welcome!

I think he's referring to it not being as symmetrical/level as some of the previous stuff? Or perhaps because it's not as complex. Either would be unfair as it's a degree smaller than the other works on tank turrets etc.

I don't know what it is, but I do love the plasma on the armoured sentinels, it just looks like it was supposed to carry that gun. I also love the HK missile.

What did you do with the callidus sword btw? It snapped off yes?

Yeah I like it too, looks dangerous, looking forward to fielding it..

Yah the blade snapped off and then I found it balanced on the back of a base of another model, it have fallen through the shelf and bounced just behind someones' legs, I only found it as I packed the army for a game. Spent yonks combing the floor too...

Skalk Bloodaxe wrote:

No problem buddy.

Final Sentinel..

Plucky Scout Sentinel. Weapons are magnetised, some DGS visible here.

I like how the basing turned out, big bit on the base is part of an old Necromunda bulkhead someone had chopped up.

Motivational slogan.

Spare weapons if I want to downgrade anyone's firepower for less points spending.

Hope you like them all, I won't post anymore Sentinels I promise.

These 5 rascals round out my other Apocalypse formation. The Shadowsword Domination Force. I can take the Shadowsword and all 4 Russes as well as the Sentinels in the formation for an extra 200pts and it allows me to downgrade hits. So if I lose a structure point on the SS I can pop a Russ instead, and perhaps more usefully I can kill a Sentinel if a Russ dies...

I only have to paint my 6 man Stormies and Commissar Lord to complete this army and then I'll arrange a 4.5k Apocalypse game and use it all, can't wait. I'll do a Batt rep don't worry.

See you soon!

I'm not looking forward to taking on that Shadowsword Domination Force. I struggle popping tanks at the best of times but managing it then popping a sentinal will make me rageflip the table.
I wouldn't put too much effort into your remaining models! You have been warned.

It does mean they have to deploy together instead of being nicely spaced out. Might make supporting them with infantry harder too.

I'll make the rest out of rubber...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Here's my finished Inquisitor.

Classic Rogue Trader era model.

I've painted him to match the Stormtroopers and Valkyrie already completed.

He's called Bestor to add onto the B5 theme as he has the PsyCorps logo as his heraldry. Even with the fancy light tent set up I found it very hard to keep the shine off the model. The black armour has been inked with the old style citadel black ink which is very shiny and give a nice gloss look to the armour but makes it hard to photograph. I think I'll tighten up the text looking at it now as well. There's nothing like looking at a massively blown up pic to spot errors.

Hope you like it!

I like him a lot! Both the figure and your paint job are wonderful.

Maybe a bit heavy on that crease that is his furrowed brow. He looks a bit Klingon?

When I get round to building my Imperial Guard, I'm going to write 'binge' on the side of everything... perhaps make them a renegade Slaanesh army of fatsos...

Inquisitor is looking good, that green really stands out nicely on the laurels as does the freehand on the shoulder. Were you going for a white streak in his hair on the side? It seems lighter.

So, given the change to gets hot, now affecting vehicles, are you going to be tearing off sponsons and swapping out the weapon on the sentinel??

They could have belly wheels...

Thanks, he is graying at the temples, all that work stress, he should do something nice for himself once in a while (maybe a spa weekend, or even just a night in with a take away and Bridget Jones on
DVD). I never did manage to light that model well for photos, looks better IRL.

I decided to go with the PC on the Sentinel anyway because it looks cool and could be useful against TEQ which most things in this army are quite bad at. The sponsons on my paskquisher and magnetic and the guns are plug in and not glued. I designed that tank before 6th dropped to be future proof. I do like them however and will run them for now. They have yet to over heat (jinxs self for next game).

I've managed to do a bit of painting on my next group of Stormtroopers and I'll post up some more pics maybe tomorrow.

Here are the built Sormtroopers..

They're all converted out of Valkyrie door gunners.

Obligatory shouting Sarg..has respirator off the CCS sprue, Baneblade commander head and a Beret that's looking bigger every minute, too late to change now! Anyway most grimdark headgear is massive..

Plasma gunner, join on rifle is less obvious now it's painted honest, did some trimming too. I made the PGs out of pistols as they are slightly smaller and as these torsos are slightly dinkier as well it seemed proper. Back pack is the blocky unit off a SM HK.

Other plasma carbiner, never got the left arm in quite the right place, should have sawed it in half really but couldn't be bothered.

Cool looking trooper. Back pack is the one I ripped off my reclaimed Seninels, I added some more pouches to the side off a WWII sprue I had lying around.

Pointy trooper, always hard trying to make the poses look different, trying here, not sure if it works. Has tiny GS finger on pointy hand, reckon that'll last one game maybe two..Also ran out of scope things from the heavy weapon sprue so cobbled a big scope together, he's got a SPR variant of the others gun.

Last trooper, basic rifleman 3, note all of them are on GS platforms to boost their height. All the visors are GS'd over to see more faceless and menacing, they're supposed to be Inquisitorial Stormtroopers. The idea is to DS them behind stuff and plasma it to death and then be horribly slaughtered mostly likely, still the enemy may be beaten to it by all that plasma!

Painting is progressing on these guys, more soon(ish)!
