I did a watered down PVA glue mix dipped it and then shook of any excess (messy so do it some where you don't mind getting in a mess), now the first time I tried this I chucked it on the area I wanted it which worked but got a bit messy.

The next time I let it start to dry a little so it started going tacky, now this gave it a bit more stability when placing it plus if you want to use super glue to anchor it it would probably be better to use this method.

Hope it works ok mate and good luck ......... O yes if it goes wrong don't blame me

Don't worry I will, I'll hope to give it a go soon, maybe tomorrow. Did you mix the PVA with paint?

Does anyone want a Heroes of the Storm Beta key? I got sent some, I don't really do MOBAs (but play Hearthstone). Let me know if you want one.

No just PVA I airbrushed it afterwards, but I can't see no reason why you could not add paint just add less water to it.
Hope it turns out ok

Yeah sure. Feel free to use any of my pics. There's some nice ones (better lighting and a background) of your track units I made into lascannon/Rapier things. I've not had much time to do more but hope to finish the Artillery cannon sooner or later too.

Please link me to wherever you end up using the pics.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo this happened..

I thought I'd get the upgrade sprue as well as it would take me over the free postage limit..got a free badge too! Who says GW hates their customers? Oh yeah everyone. So I like the new book, it's basically the old one with points decreases and a few buffs (Vanguard and Dreds especially). It is also basically the Apocalypse book too, lots of the units (especially Heavies) get an Apoc style buff when taken in 3s and the formations are very Apoc-ish. I don't know how that will fit in normal games but we'll see. It means it outdates even some of the newer codicies which is funny seeing how quickly they have been throwing them out the door.

Anyway it's got me all interested in modelling again after a longish period of burn out. I will take a break on the IG once I've cleared the immediate stuff I'm working on (big gun). I've already decided to slightly scale back what I planned for them and not get 2 of the Ramshackle Land Train sections to become additional Hyda/Wyverns and i also spent a lot of willpower not to buy into the recent Robot Kickstarter by Ramshackle (wanted to use them as Ogryns). I am left with only a special weapon team, a Rocket battery, a ADL with Quad and 2 Assassins. None of these are terribly high priority and there is tonnes of SM stuff waiting to go.

So in the interests of clearing the decks..

I've started cracking on with this puppy, seen here with marking done and Stirland mud applied to the wheels..

The crew are taking shape but I need to start work on the diorama base...

Still unsure whether to bother doing the camo netting or not..here's a very rough idea using fruit netting, I would soak it in a brown paint and pva mixture and then drape it over the barrel and once it's dried I'd add in small amounts of foliage stuff...once concern is adding too much weight as it's a magnetised component..any opinions?

In a final point I noticed we've tipped over 100,000 views.

Eh, blink*, blink*, wot's that Randy going on about now?

Mumble, mumble...oh, 'e's got a lurvley gun in his garden now and he's raving about new men from space.

Ah, OK then, that's our Randy back to normal then.

Here's a tiny update on the garden gun, I've been experimenting with more weathering than I usually run with...I hope to get sometime to crack on with this today, more updates soon(er or later).

I don't know what's more impressive, the weathering itself, or your ability to take a picture to showcase it like that.

Yeah, it's like space this, space that, please take your shoes off at the door and put this helmet (made from a colander) on, it'll keep your thoughts safe, please flush the toilet quietly, don't want them to know we're here now do we? Do we!

Stuff is looking great as ever, congrats on the new book and loot. I'd have thought you would have plumped for a pimped up command tank, seems right up your street.

I've been working on some ways to do camo netting as I've finally got those bastions et al back from the Duke and opened my Wall of Martyrs.
I'll let you know how I get on and post some bits here when they're done. I've tried a few techniques so far and cant quite get it. I'm hoping to make a stiff removable tent like section of it to cover a section of a basilisk so i'll let you know how that goes....

Thanks! I'm only using a 3 year old smartphone and a single daylight lamp, so there's no super tech involved. I've pretty much finished this thing now, and the crew, I'll try to get some pics done, maybe Monday.

I've upgraded from the bulky colander to a streamlined tinfoil number; stylish, waterproof and keeps out the mind probes.

The command tank is really bonkers, I think you have to use them as a pair? And they're not in the codex only in the box with them. Sounds interesting with the netting I think I leave it on mine for now and get on with the SM but I'll be very interested in your progress as I may well revisit. You must have a crap ton of terrain lying about now, any damage from their holiday at the pub?

Nice work the gun is looking pretty good you have actually managed to lift the quality of that kit IMHO, love the head swaps on the crew figures helps blend them better just makes them seem like they are wearing baggy ragtag uniforms now

Hope the netting works out although maybe try some smaller netting, clementines have the best sized bags I find and if you are looking for some foliage go rob the Birch trees of their pods perfect size for leaves and free

Thanks, I will be able to do some finished snaps tomorrow. I like the idea of them being in smocks to cope with all the space cordite dirt. Birch seeds/pods are great, I've seen them used excellently to create woodland settings etc. Yes maybe the weave of the bag I got (lemons) is too wide, I think the netting is suspended for a bit as my enthusiasm has shifted back to SM...more on that too.

Here's the completed shots of Ramshackle artillery.....

Including the crew scurrying around...

The gun crew..splattered and powder covered..

Quartermaster and mini ammo dump..will have uses as an objective or scenery too..

Gun itself..

A bit dirtier than my usual painting, I think it suits it..

Breach and loading platform..

Other side...

Regiment no. on gun shield..

Alternate configuration, would make a good Bombard or Colossus etc...

Hope you like! This frees me up to do some SM stuff, I'm starting with my Scouts and their Landspeeder Storm....more on that soon!

So to (re)kick off the SM stuff. I decided to begin with my 10th Company Task force.....

Here's a LSS I got cheap off eBay a while ago now..It's got a unweildy looking AC which will have to go and odd 3rd party heads which will go too..

The first set of fins is missing too and some of the kit will have to come off as it's a bit daft..

Here's a start, I removed the Crux off the bonnet unsure why that's there; I moved the searchlight off the top rail and replaced it over the odd cattle prod things Landspeeders always seem to have.

The HB is off the Valkyrie kit and fits in well I think..I toyed with the idea of a heavy flamer but now they're BS4 again (for this book at least, so another 2 years?) a HB will do.

The 2 passengers just slot in, I don't like the everyone clinging on thing too much, it makes it look like a clown car, so these 2 will show whether it's carrying troops or not.

LSS have got better again in the new book, being cheaper even than a normal speeder, with an extra and quite good gun as well as the ability to Outflank. The only downside is the 'Open Topped' penalty to survivability but then that's a boon with it's transport capacity (obviously)..Once this is done I've 8 Scouts to do which will give me 20 Scouts and the LSS, I'm a bit tempted by Telion and might keep an eye out for a metal one (still don't own any Finecast)....

More eventually...

Yay! More Ultramarines.

I’d have to double-check the pricing of AsCs on the LSS, but I know the drop in points on the stock speeders has made me reconsider my opinion of them. OK, just looked it up. 15 points is a tad high for such a fragile platform. But now that they are BS4, not unreasonable.

It will still get to fire the turn it outflanks, and then inevitably crashes and burns....I'm going to do it CIA 'black helicopters' black...

No not unreasonable but I don't want it to have a high target priority...it should hopefully survive and next turn unleash 5 furious scouts (though obviously not STR/INT5 ones like Blood Angles).

If you feel like tossing your hat into the ring, July’s unofficial painting challenge is “sneaky”. Some scouts would fit right in.

Yeah I've always liked Telion and I got an ok price really (£7 delivered), posted today too! I'll look at the compo I wasn't planning on doing these guys to a massively awesome standard however.

Here's some of the troopers..I got these guys back in the 4th ed era and they've pretty much sat there bluetacked since....

Here they are built...Yes the 1st guy is giving the finger(s), I'd split the fingers apart so he was giving an 'Agincourt salute' but they would instantly snap off...these guys can be a 5 man team on there own or form a combat squad with my 5 'BP&CCW' guys that'll be riding in the LSS.

3 more snipers to fill out the 7 snipers I've done already..and the remaining dude for the above team..

All properly built..the dude 3 from the left is a sometimes sarge (if running as a squad of 5) he's either giving a hand signal to advance or going 'Bang!, you're dead' delete as appropriate..

Right I'm off to spray these dudes now..here's a tiny shot of the LSS...

In stealth black..getting there...

More progress on the Scouts..

Landspeeder Storm is pretty much there..

Neeeeooooowww..I've some other 'done' pics I'll post up soon..

Started work on the sweary heavy bolter team...still early days..

This guy turned up super quick and in great nick, thanks random eBay guy! In other news I've sadly started the process (ie thinking about it) of disMANtling my geek room, apparently my Son needs somewhere of his own and apparently the shed is not an option. This will require the purchase of many KR cases and selling off/taking outside and shooting some of my more extraneous stuff...sadly put this venerable old leviathan on to eBay..

Farewell knackered unpainted RT Landraider, it's been real but I never use you and I own a modern one I also don't use...we'll see how it does, doing ok already considering it's condition (which is poor{ish})..

Played my 1st 2nd round game in the Campaign recently too, pleased with my new 1k list, BatRep by MLCS will follow eventually...

Stay frosty...

I’m sure you can find a way to work it into a list. I have problems not including mine. In a CAD they are a zippy little ObSec unit with a number or tricks that costs peanuts. If you are using the Gladius, they are a nice part of the 10th company formation as a low cost way to go from just a battle demi company to the formation proper. Their only major problems are the fact that they are a bit irritating to build and paint. And you’re past that.

I also decided the Sarg having a normal pistol was too annoying, I managed to find another Scout pistol and I'll transfer it over..that with the above 5 men with finish the first 10, I've started the next group (Snipers, inc Telion) as well...

Some finished pics of these guys maybe tomorrow.

Here are the finished squad..painted in my take on DPM, the British Army camo pattern, seems better suited to infiltration than white jump suits anyway..

Squad leader showing the score as 2-0, faces and bolters have 'tiger stripes' to add to the camo..

Heavy and trooper..

Trooper on left has a machete back mounted I pulled off the side of the LSS..

I'm happy with these guys, they were relatively quick to do and look ok, I've 3 more snipers and Telion to do to finish off my 10th Co. Task Force..

I've got 10 snipers with a RL, 5 BP/CCW guys inc. a shotty and the above 5. They can be run as in 10s or 5s or combat squads or just mix n match etc, they have no unit insignia (squad numbers etc) to facilitate this. I do like Scout bikers actually but have no plans in this direction ATM. How do you find your Scout Bikers do, I do like the idea of rapid fire grenade launchers.....
