I have written a brief tutorial on snow basing over on my blog, please check it out if you have time.
http://leontheconfused.blogspot.com/2010/11/snow-basing.html
It is the first tutorial I have written and would really like some feedback so I can make them better.

Thanks guys.
I was originally asked to write the tutorial for a friend who is about to start painting a Khador army.

Nice tutorial, though the pictures don't really show the final texture of the snow. That's the big thing I've found about doing snowy scenery, getting a good texture that won't blow away (some snow products look great if you just sprinkle them with no glue but obviously that won't stay there when you transport the models, the hard part is getting snow that stays there and still has a realistic texture).
