Can someone tell me if that big black dude in photo 6 is on the forum? If he's the guy I think it is, he used to work for GW at Square One and gave me my very, very first intro game about 10 years ago. He's super tall and very cool/enthusiastic about the hobby.

Hi, I am new to this thread and wondered if is possible to ask for a game. I live In scarboorugh but can commute if necessary.

I would like to play a casual game of 40k of up to 1500pts this weekend. I just got back into 40k after a few months hiatus. I am relatively weak at 6th edition so that is why I am asking for a casual game.

There are lots of other members that play at Legends warehouse and it's somewhere in Vaughn if you can travel there I'm sure lots of players would e available.

Unfortunately I cannot out that far from where I am. The only places I know and able to go to are GW yonge and lawrence and Meeplemart.

I'd love to just say hi to him. He'd never remember me, I last spoke to him as a chubby little tyke, but I'll never forget his infectious enthusiasm giving me an intro game. He was the first guy to put into perspective the scale of a space marine to me when he told me that a single bolter round was the size of a pop-can. As a pop-drinking kid, that resonated with me and perfectly illustrated the scale, and I was blown away and sucked into the hobby forever.

Had a blast playing MRPYM at 401 games today.

Our shooty armies clashed all day long on your homemade terrain table. Had a crucial set of shots via a 5BS model go horribly wrong. Will post a picture

Anyone here ever play the astronomi-con tournament? I am interested in this wondering what the local meta thinks of said tourney. I see it's at a bar too. Can those who have played it PM me details of their experience. Worth the cost? Fun missions? Easy going, etc

I have, been doing it for nearly 10 years. Its fun as hell and you get to face off against really unique armies and every table is a different mission and experience. The only problem is you usually have to make an army just for astro as there is a lot of wacky elements, besides that its the best yearly tournament, it honestly just feels like you are having a fun tournament with friends rather then hardcore competition.

I'm doing it this year as a part of a club. It's not your traditional tourny as there is alot of emphasis placed on fluff, I mean there is 10 poitns alone for having your amry list named, having background written and pictures of the models ina custom army list. They also have a comp score this year.

The mission are not book missions, they are very story driven and have alot of interesting special rules and victory conditions, about 1/4 of them introduce a 3rd army/unit that is not controlled by either player.

It's supposed to be very easy going as the rules are put in place to pervent that hardcore WAAC or harcore tourny player from competing. The best general is a combined score of battle points and your comp score.

I tend to lean towards a more competitve enviroment but this may be a ncie change of pace, if you don't end up going I'll let you know what I thought of it. It's slightly higher than average for a tourny cost (Most are in the $35-40/day range, this is about $45/day) but it's supposed to be huge so we'll see

I am for sure thinking this is a great tourney for a change in scenery. I would like to play some new missions and just have some fun against more fluffy type builds. Just gotta paint up 40 or so gants for spawning and I am golden. Others, let me know if you have experience at this tournament scene. 2 days of warhammer in a bar...yes please! My wife may have to DD.

I'd like some practice for the event so if you ahve some free time on a weekday or weekend I'll print off a few missions and we can run through them. My weekends during the day are packed untill mid July but I'd always be willing to host (table and beers included!)
