Anyone up for an early Saturday or Sunday game?

Heavy Support is holding a 40k tournament this Saturday, 1750 points. It's 12 players max and is very casual, really just an excuse to play 40k for a day. I'll be there, hope to see some of you folk there as well.

12 or 1 is NOT early

The latest I would start is 11, but I would much prefer earlier than that... I like to start early and end early so my Sunday evening is free and relaxing before going back to the office on Monday.

Depends on how you equip it, i run it with 2 scatter lasers (4 str 6 shots each for the laser lock/anti air role), the suncannon ( 3 str 6 small blasts) and a scattershield ( 5+ invul which cases the shooter to take blind tests). You can also run it with 2 wraithcannons which are str 10 ap 2 and cause instant death on a wound of 6 no matter the toughness of the model getting hit. So it can fill either roll pretty easily, though it is pretty expensive to field, luckily the rest of the codex got cheaper to make room for it .

That's what i hope people think, because if they are firing at it they are ignoring the rest of the army. Plus if you don't kill it theres a good chance I can regen it's wounds during my turn, and give it a 2+ save instead of 3+. Now if it's competitive or not I have no idea but as long as it stands 9 inches tall in the middle of my army it tends to draw a lot more attention than my smaller units.

I had no idea what to do with the stupid thing. It was too tough to melee attack and has too many wounds to waste a whole turn shooting it.... But ignoring it resulted in it killing 2/3 of my vehicles and an infantry unit. He even joined the end of a melee combat just for the fun of it. It is not easy to kill or ignore.

Poison, lots and lots of poison shots.

11 sounds good. 1850? I'm pretty excited since I just finished basic painting of my entire army (minus required touch up work).

Ahh watch out, he's going to tailor his list...

Did some mathhammer, would take around 100+ poison shots hitting, wounding, and me saving on average for the wraithknight to go down in 1 turn of shooting, seems pretty doable for a DE army.

Not sure how you're getting 100+ poison shots though...
a venom has 12 shots.
BS 4 so 8 hit on average.
4 wounds on average, 1.3333 go through since you have a 3+.
6 wounds on the WraithKnight/1.333 is 4.5 venoms
4.5 venoms is around 54 venom shots which is totally doable.

If you're casting shrouded on it then it's not even really worth shooting at.

depending on if I have first turn or not I"m either trying to "hide" it in a ruin for 4+ cover and 3+ armour. Or i'm casting protect on it for a 2+ armour save and seeing how far terminator armour takes it

I don't know, it's going to kill one thing a turn at most and there's probably easier targets out there for a DE player.
If you do cast shrouded then I don't even see a point of shooting at it lol.
Btw you can't fire 3 weapons so 2 scatter lasers and the suncannon might be a waste.

I think the best option is probably just a stock wraithknight though.

It fills 2 rolls with it's load out, 2 scatter lasers for air targets, or 1 scatter laser to twin-link the suncannon. I still basically refuse to use flyers so I need to come up with anti air somehow, and the scatter laser still seems like a good option for anti air to me.

I don't mind fessing up, at this point I'm still playing for fun until I figure the game out better, im pretty new and my Orks havnt been very kind to me yet. I'm guessing your brining dark eldar?

Not sure yet.... Probably will bring DE..... Maybe with some Eldar brothers..... Actually, maybe my Nids.... I'm not letting you in on anything that will help with 'tailoring' your list

Scatter laser is ok against air I guess, with twin-linked but S6 is kinda still hard to glance a plane down with 8 shots from 1 thing.
