Switches, that's all you need to make rails great, redstone powered rail switches, they could be 3x2 and have one rail go straight on while another goes off to the side. Also they need a way to make Powered carts and Coal not useless.
We already have them sort of. Sending power to a rail at some intersections changes the direction if I remember correctly. Could put it with detector rails and a delay.

Yeah, if I were to do any I'd probably do that. He's also shown a video which pretty much converts those giant doors I was making a fair few pages back into an elevator by just switching out half of the door for stairs, something I'll probably do at some point for the under water base. Also Sky would probably like this one.
Minecarts were planned to be lava boats, but the idea was scrapped.
Currently attempting to put together a homebrew non-canon Space Marine chapter. If I can be bothered to getting around to painting the models and putting the things together of course...
I'm sort of tempted to add an overworld ZPM farm in the industrial area of the city, however it'll have to be kind of small. I'm also leaving it up to Dark first before I start any work on it as it does work with portals.
Nothing as crazy as this.
But, the general idea of it. Being much much smaller it'll be slower, but fills up space as a building. They'll also not be ground level and blocked off to the villagers of course. The resources needed as well sort of make it annoying.
You can use the national bank of dakka as a base, if you like. It's useless as it stands.

You know we have the resources to make a shotgun that shot people and at people. There's a yo dawg joke in there somewhere, but I'm not going to degrade myself by fishing it out.
