Actually, I just got the best idea. Remember that bulky piston train system? These blocks may make it possible to have an extremely compact version which requires next to no resources.

Dungeon Delver here, is there anywhere on the server that is ok for me to claim for building/ resource gathering?

Have a look at the map - http://www.darkinnit.com/dakkamap - and just try not to build too close to anyone as you may interrupt their plans for expansion (or you may find your own plans for expansion cut short). Generally if you're at a location you like and can't see anything built by someone else, with your Video settings set to "far" render distance, it's a good start. I do like the intermingled community projects like Suburbia etc, but it seems most people prefer their own space.

The hopper is cool, I'd started using the Buildcraft one just the day before and thought it was neat, so glad to see it's making it into vanilla. What I really want to see in vanilla are the crafting tables that allow you to keep things on them if you've forgotten to get that last item from the chest. I don't want the extra stuff like Redpower plans or automated crafting, I just don't want to have to remove everything or have it fall on the ground because I'm one iron ingot short etc.

As for the trapped chests, they output more redstone power the more people are looking in them at once, so they could also be useful for multiplayer adventure maps, or for say an alarm that goes off if someone is spying on your chest while you're looking in it yourself. I'm sure people will come up with lots of crazy ideas.

Thanks Darkinnit. I don't plan on building anything grand as my skills need some refining on smaller structures first.

Well if I get around to working on the city more it's own railway system will be improved. This also means if you hook up your railway it can be used to ship out villagers.

I want to build out in that massive tundra. I am having bit of difficulty getting there.

Which Tundra, Skycrawler? Because if it's by the Mesa, I have to warn you that I have plans for MASSIVE future expansion projects.

Also, Dark, had to go AFK for family things, and when I got back I was dead and I think all my items despawned. This was pretty much an entire inventory full of smoothstone- any way you could help out?

It's fine if you want to build there, but it'd probably be best if you checked with me first- I have plans for rings of walls, essentially- you'd want to build in between if you're living there. Or if you're far enough out- just keep out of the line of the railway that'll be coming through.

I'll wait till construction starts so i can see where things will be. Then make a decision.

He's living with me at the moment anyway, so he should be fine till Railway is finished.

Afterwards, he can move out and move elsewhere if he so wishes

I'd quite like some heads of players... maybe if you fight and kill someone in the arena, you receive their head? That'd be a nice incentive to go there nowadays...

My goal: Acquire ~10 skulls. 1/2 of my own head (for those "Obey! Schellan sees all!" signs) and 1/2 of Shrike's skull. So I can mount one on my fireplace and make "Wanted, Dead or Alive" signs.

Well I already have two wither skulls... takes a while to get them, but the coal makes it worth it.

If you have to dash away from the computer and aren't somewhere safe, don't forget the "Disconnect" button isn't that far away, or ALT+F4 if you're in an extreme hurry. That said, I might be willing to give a partial amount back, as long as you start disconnecting instead of going afk in dangerous places.

Hmm, that sounds a good idea. One wither skull can be traded for any other mob head, but two wither skulls can be traded for one player head of your choice. Sound fair?

Also as for the duck, when I put it there you couldn't do the other trapdoor orientation. That was added later and I didn't think of it.

Yah. I know. Thought I'd be back sooner. It's not a huge deal, just a thing. I also lost a bunch of my pumpkin pie, which makes me sad.

A player's head of our choice without having to ask the owner of said head's permission first? I imagine one day walking into a basement somewhere to see the heads of everyone on the server stacked neatly like in some pixelated horror movie.

...On a lighter side it would spice up the museum a tad. =P
