My underground bunker is connected to an abandoend mineshaft. I'll have to create an entrance to the mineshaft-- thinking a 2widex3high door made of iron blocks and operated by sticky pistons would work, protecting the mechanisml with two layers of stonebrick...

It seems that the Overviewer doesn't like Dark Oak planks/stairs/slabs yet.

Of course the locations people have asked for outside that range will also exist and be visible on the map, but in order to allow for some nearby new terrain gen in future, I've been working from a 2000 radius world. The 4000 radius map was just so you had more choice to pore over.
The map will soon update and anywhere not selected outside a 2000 block radius will no longer be visible.
Am I making sense? :/

Plenty of mountains out here, looks like they get more extreme just off the edge of the map.

We're gonna be using the 0,0 portal for the Hub- it's simpler to remember- so just (Netherside) go straight to the nearest x or z 0 axis, then follow that back to the spawn portal.
Actually, if you have a surplus of Charcoal (I think you mentioned that?) you could help out immensely by smelting a ton of Netherwrack into bricks.

Just keep in mind to not make anything permanent as I'll be making the nether hub when a new modem for my interwebz comes along. Also a question, can we strip a mesa biome of its hardened clay to fund this nether hub project? I have a lot of clay as it stands but I don't have enough to manage the project.
