Thanks for the offer you two, I've got some spare diamonds, the lack of the pick isn't what I was sad about, it was the enchantment. No worries all, I need to go back into the nether and destroy my netherside portal because I go in through the one in my tower, and come out noobbombs portal, but if I leave the nether from my portal netherside, then I return home. Was hoping that I would be far enough away, but I am not.

Edit: Fixed the nether portal issues I caused.

Most people are working on their own projects, getting settled into our new server, and the next big project is to get the nether hub working well so we travel across the map easily.

I kept getting creepered whilst doing a spot of farming, constant holes blowing up huge chunks of my house.

Didn't realise they were all coming up and from a natural cavern which led to the suface less than 10 squares away.

*plants seed, turns round, spots three creepers.*

Not played MC in ages, I'd forgotten the power of the mobs.

I'm doing my usual ridiculously long underground tunnels and railways to connect up my various projects... plus I have some cyclopean necropoli to build, the Giant's Castle to make on the Beanstalk, and the usual dwarven holes to diggy dig.

Building a bridge to the mesa biome which I'm going to build a series of settlements on, which are themselves linked by bridges to each mesa. Might even try to get them inhabited by villagers!

And some nether tunnels. I've going to dig a long tunnel with a rail system from my nether portal (which is itself connected to the nether hub) waaaaaaaay out into the nether. I intend to eventually build a mob spawner over an ocean, and I live a long way from any oceans so will use the nether to connect it to my town.

Anyone whos portals lie close to the tunnel will be welcome to connect to it and use my tunnel to travel to the nether hub.

I'm debating about working on an underwater place that would link directly to my tower, thoughts?

What am I working on? Gathering enough materials for one of my more ambitious projects. It may be simple but I tend to lose interest fast and I plan to finish this one.

Bearing in mind that this is one "wing" if you want to call it that. There are alot more of these to add on. Not sure if I like it fully coming to a point or whether I should just have the bottoms flat. I'll mess around in creative and see.

I am still new to Minecraft and having a go at the different building materials. I've finished a couple of houses on these islands here and just now redone the fortifications around the (re-)populated npc village on the southern island.

I am sloooooowly leveling out the land around my tower. Eventually I'll build a small city around it and populate it with Snow Goons (as the constant "Hmm" and "Hanh" from a bunch of villagers is really annoying).

True, it is annoying. And snow golems are easy to make and even somewhat self-replicating.

Might need some more torches around that place.

You're quite correct ... the house is secure but the grounds are riddled with trespassers.

I'd do the same, but I want my grounds to be covered in snow :/

If you place snow cover on top of snow cover, it now gets taller. Mobs don't spawn on snow cover if it is between two and seven layers tall.

It's craftable now as well, which is immensely easier than just making snowmen wander around until the ground is all snowy.

Oh? Neat, I'll have to make use of that.
