Agreed this is a nice (and out of the blue) update for the game. makes me very glad I live near lots of ocean seeing as the snapshot info says they'll generate in pre-existing worlds. Also interesting they are adding the ability to get cracked stone bricks by smelting normal ones, should add some variety to my future building projects

There are accounts that were identified by your tag and accounts identified by your email. It depends on when you got your account which you used.

idk, I migrated my account way back when but now the recovery options aren't working.

A few days ago I changed my password, updated my old Beta era Minecraft account to the newfangled Mojang account and now my password isn't being recognised. About to try it again.

Try using your email as your username. That's how mine works.

But I forgot the password...then forgot the email address too (I have 3). Its gonna be a long night...

After changing my password, then migrating my account from the old premium account to the new Mojang version, my passowrd is no longer recognised, I'm receiving no password reset email, and when I request to change the email address to a new one (using the "this email address is no longer in use" option) it denies the request.

So yeah, its cool that the temples will appear just about anywhere. So I was testing out the sponges and I figured out they actually don't work in the ocean sadly.
My test builds. Might make the towers bigger.




So after playing with new color palettes!






Now we just need purple bricks. SO I can build dalaran hahaha

First, that Temple structure looks awesome, cant wait to see the final product.

Second, after looking at the map, I lucked out on my choice of build locations. anybody want to help me prep the double dungeon for mob farming? ( I am currently building on the island at X~3900 Z~3900

this is great! loving the new block colours there,,, will help break up the mnoochromatic stone walls i currently build.

So yeah I plan on rebuilding my castle walls to look like this as currently the front entrances aren't too impressive compared to like the side entrances. I might keep the theme of the outer wall too look like this. Which will surround the dark forest.


Also news.

There will be more structures they are adding in 1.8.
Some ocean structures and maybe an ocean boss O.o

hey Dark I was trading with the villager at spawn, when I put my emeralds in and clicked on the name tag I got booted on an "internal sever error" when I re-logged all twelve had vanished. i have no luck with trading :|

Yeah that villager is getting more and more buggy. Used to only crash if you tried to navigate past the last item. I may remove it now that fishing can get most of the items.

thanks Dark i should be online again some time tomorrow usually am around noon ish every day currently (oh the joys of being unemployed and filling in time between job applications with games).

So I investigated the pair of spawners near my base. one is spiders, the other is zombies.

I will endeavor to make a straight path to them and turn them into a string/XP farm.

If you need help with the spiders, I've got a little practice. I seem to be cursed to always finding spider spawners everywhere. I got two in my base.

^ I know all about that :? three cave spider spawner's one spider... I was hoping to find a skelly spawner until I finally get the infinite enchant on a bow!

So what's going on with the East Tunnel? Are there any special plans for its design or can I continue the 3x2 pattern?

Well the general consensus seemed to be to make all the main tunnels 5x5... but that's a very long-term project, for when someone can be bothered. So 3x2 is probably OK in the meantime, as long as you're happy with it being widened at some point.

Well, I have enough smelted stone back at my base to make it 5x5 till Grey Mesa, so if someone gives me a design, I can make the Stone/Brick portion of the tunnel and someone else can fill in the rest with whichever blocks they want.

But only if someone gives me a clear design, I don't feel like making a 3x2 tunnel if it's just going to get in the way when people want to widen it.

Anvildude, Black Sails, GangstaMuffin, Shadow Captain Edithae and Grey Templar are the active people in that general direction, right? (though I don't think the last 3 care)

But if someone wants me to make an unadorned, solid 5x5 Stone Brick tunnel to Grey Mesa, I'll do that. Really whatever build you want as long as you tell me what you want.

Or if no one cares I'll just make a boring 5x5 tunnel and let people take care of the details when they want to.

My portal is actually an off-shot from the North tunnel. I'd be happy to lend a hand to any group building efforts though.

Ah, I just based my list on who happened to be east, since the map is giving player locations again.

I was actually waiting for Anvildude, who said he wanted to do something with it so I intended to wait a couple days. At which point I would make a plain tunnel which will feel ten times longer than it is because of how dreadfully dull it would be or I'll get distracted by something else.

But if you have a design, I'd use that too. Anvildude would probably want to make a massive path with pillars of netherbrick going all the way down to the lava which, while lovely, is not something I think I would work on.

Though I think he wanted to make a fortress of some sort around his portal, so I'd end the tunnel at the point where the bridge ends, about 50 blocks from the cobblestone shelter.

I'd supply some resources if asked and as far as I can tell or am aware no-one in west tunnel minds it only being 3x3 but if people want to widen it go ahead

There's the Vanilla server, and the Feed the Beast server.

According to Darkinnit's FAQ the two options are:

mc.dakkadakka.com for the vanilla minecraft server and
ftb.darkinnit.com:25585 for the Feed the Beast Monster 1.0.9 server (that soon gets updated to 1.1.2+)
