Ahh, I have returned from a journey of exploration into the unknown and unexplored regions of the dakka map.
I bring news of the lands beyond what we knew.

I didn't know what I would find, but the first discovery, while not unique, was very pleasing to me. I found many horses. Just standing from one place and spinning around I could count at least 20 of them. I have never seen so many in one area. I assume most of the other herds had already been caught by the players.


After sleeping the night away, I continued and lo and behold I had found what I had been searching for. The JUNGLE!!
This jungle stretched long against the coast but was still off the map. I didn't touch anything but I may come back and see if I can find an ocelot.

This journey had last for some time and I had already found what I was looking for, so I decided to give one last look around the waters to let the Dakka map load the new areas so I could narrow my searches into untamed lands and seas. Then I saw an island, could it be one of the fabled Flower Forests?
Why, I think it IS! There are flowers here that I have never seen on the other lands. But the island is not particularly large. I fear that one day someone might come along and ruin the natural and rare beauty of this land.
I can only hope the players and sheep don't exploit this wonderful place.


So concludes today's travels. I doubt I will find anything more worthy of note than what I have found today, but I will continue my searches if only to find the perfect place for me to build.

I am in need of some assistance in constructing 2 spawner farms.

In the tunnels I have dug / explored there are 3 mob spawners that I have found.

A skeleton spawner all by its lonesome, and a spider spawner with a zombie spawner below it.

I have a decent idea of how to build a farm for the skeleton spawner, but the dual zombie/spider spawner leaves me at wits end on how best to capitalize on this resource.

if anyone wishes to help me build the Z/S farm, my house is at about X3900 Z3900 and I will be posting a trail of signs leading to the Z/S spawner. The skeleton spawner is very close to my house, there is a + in the ocean with a ladder down the middle. I have not yet fully lit this spawner's area.

I've got a design for spider spawners that you could probably work a more traditional zombie grinder into. Not sure when I'll next be on, but if you can give me their precise relative locations (spider spawner block is +5x -7y +12z from zombie spawner, with the zombie block as coordinate 0) I could look at screenshotting/graphing out a design.

Hoy! Tim! What were your coordinates on the Dakka vanilla server?

If he didn't move the same as mine. Not sure if he's still there, though!

Would it be considered ban worthy to mess with someone by filling their house with cake?+

Or covering their walls in item frames?

Just harmless pranks like that?

Spider farms are weird, though iv done a double spider spawner grinder that is currently somewhere i cant remember. there is at least 1 good trick in that you need to make a two tall hole above the corners then put a water up top and prevent it from falling with a sign. that way encase they climb up walls they will drown in the corners.

There should be a good design for one on youtube some where. (though no clue if updated mob ai is going to screw it up)

Non-destructive pranks are fine, as long as you agree to clean up the mess if the prankee does not approve, or if you've made it overly excessively tedious to clean up. *cough* Sky_slasher *cough* Ideally you should only prank people you know. e.g. don't go up to someone's place who you've never spoken to and fill it with <insert comedy item here>.

If you want jungle saplings you are more than welcome to come to my place and take 4 (should be enough for you to farm more from them) If you want to I'm directly West from spawn in the Nether. Just head down the tunnel until you see a sign on the right saying 'Storm Lord's place' (or something to that effect) if you reach Cantium you've gone too far

The saplings will be in a chest marked wood in my storage room

I'm a hoarder, also on the old server I made a lot of holes and dug out large areas of ground, that coupled with a fortune three pick means lots of diamonds.

Although I now can't help but feel i should hide them better. Or get a guard dog...

Just been, damn the scale of this place is impressive though it strikes me as over ambitious perhaps. Like the massive Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea.

Massive, and impressive to look at from the outside, but mostly unfinished on the inside. But I mean that in the nicest way of course. How long have you been building it, and when do you think you'll finish it?

if zombie spawner is x0 y0 z0, than spider is x-1 y+7 z+5

I am completely dumbfounded by something that just happened to me.

Deep in the cavern system I have been exploring, I came across a lone zombie with a full set of iron armor, all but the legs enchanted. after killing this zombie, I find that this set perfectly matches a set I had lost over a week ago. far to long for a single zombie to remain in game.

Was said zombie holding an egg? If so that would be why he was still there.

Happens to me all the time at my base, since a few of my chickens escaped and got lost in my caves...

Wiring up a neighbour's house to make it "haunted" is also good fun, just give it a switch and watch the redstone clock flick about their doors occasionally.

One of my friends melted the CPU of his server with a chicken spawner....LOL.

Well, not that anyone will use it. But I made a path and portal to the edge of the Jungle.

The path is behind the North Tunnel. Just go to the End of the Tunnel and walk out the hole in the wall and turn right to walk on the Stone Brick path (Not the cobblestone path) and follow the torches till you get to the portal. Then hope it's day time because I didn't make a shelter around it.

I haven't made a full tunnel since I didn't particularly want to continue the North Tunnel design and I didn't want to make it suddenly change pattern.

Also, I request that you don't decide to immediately build any permanent structures right now. I doubt anyone would want to move shop right now but in case you do I'd like a week or two before anyone sets up for me to find a good place (or to give up on the area). I might even move the portal.

Good stuff Lotet. Shall I continue the North Tunnel design, and ghast-proof your path, next time I'm on? Pretty sure I have enough materials to do so.

Sure, that'd be nice. But since I might move the portal if I set up nearby and don't want it messing up any new portals, you probably shouldn't put much effort into that path, just the main North Tunnel.

Also, I have about 6 stacks of Nether Brick there and almost a full chest of stone. It might be enough since the Tunnel doesn't need to be extended much. But I have almost no cobblestone(I smelt it all), so if you want to keep using it you should bring some.
