After I decided to set off to find a place to call my own I had wandered for days. There was only a small patch of plains then Jungle, seemingly forever. I kept going, traveling the coast and almost gave up. Till the Jungle cleared into more plains, but I was past the -5500 mark, I was further away than I was comfortable with. I saw a steep slender mountain and figured I'd get a good view of my surroundings. When I got there I surveyed the area and found a Village. Ahh, this may be a good place to set up.

After chatting to the locals, none of whom seemed to be selling anything of real value, the best being a fellow who wanted 9 Arrows for 1 Emerald, I looked around. These chaps apparently decided to make their village right next to a fissure. Only 3 blocks away and it was a steep drop. This may get in the way of my future plans for the area as it runs straight through the plains.

Oh well, for now I claim the Village from off map. It is here: http://www.darkinnit.com/newdakkamap/#/663/64/-5698/-7/0/0

I think I'll go back to base and get some Stone for a simple wall and Iron to make a Golem, maybe 2, while making the exits too small for the Golems to get out.

I'm very glad someone had put the Jungle to good use. That last character at the end of Lady Fluffington I'st name seems rather ominous though. But that might just be from the last place I read of such naming conventions...

I may stop by to try to scavenge some Iron from your farm, as making a pair of Golems would use up half my Iron.

Just been, damn the scale of this place is impressive though it strikes me as over ambitious perhaps. Like the massive Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryugyong_Hotel

Massive, and impressive to look at from the outside, but mostly unfinished on the inside. But I mean that in the nicest way of course. How long have you been building it, and when do you think you'll finish it?

Also, was that a Dragon Egg in the tower?

It probably was slightly ambitious to start with, although the original idea has changed since the start. Originally I was just going to build the walls and then live in the corner towers, but then decided that just didn't feel right so started on the keep. The rear tower then grew out of that, but due to my location on the old map had to be smaller than the rear of the keep but now I think looks good as is.

In terms of when I started I think it was around 2 years ago, possibly more. Within that time there has been a degree (with dissertation), new girlfriend, job hunting etc which has slowed down construction somewhat, along with some time helping Cantium acquire villagers for the iron farm, not to mention the time taken to get all the Nether brick needed. Completion of the outer shell I estimate to finish by the end of October (hopefully) with interior decoration then taking me up the the end of the year. At which point phase two can begin

And yes, I do have a Dragon Egg in my tower, but I'm not sure I'm happy with its display case

just a heads up so you can make your life easier

"When breeding two wolves with different owners, the pup's owner will be the owner of the wolf you right clicked to breed with first." (http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Dog#Breeding)

so you dont have to get two if you only find one you can then breed with someone elses dogs...

hopefully i sent you in the right direction! if not ill do some 'sploring and note down what i find... let you know

alternatively i've written this and you have found your dogs and no longer need my help either way. thought it would be useful information.

You said West, I went West, to the X5000 mark. When I said "Thats a long way", I meant it was about 1.5 km. Not 8 km.

Its already generated. Cantium has been here before, apparently its where he got his wolves. And its just off the edge of the map, about 1.2 km from his home

As far as I see, we just moved to a new server with the same map. So unless you can't log in then everything is fine.

Aside form last night when there was massive server lag.

I could definitely feel the distance. But somehow, when you travel a wild path multiple times, it doesn't seem as long anymore. But last night I tried to cut through the Jungle instead of sailing the coast. AUGH! Never again! Took about 15 minutes to get through. So I doubt anyone could put a serious dent in the Biome.

And because of that distance...

My village is over 1500 blocks away from the Jungle Portal, so that means the Portal is already in it's final position. Though I don't know if it's worth the effort to pretty it up.

Now, in case no one noticed. There are horses about 150 Blocks West of the Jungle Portal exit, plenty of them. But remember that the Portal is facing North/South, so don't trust your sense of direction, trust F3. Just don't collect them so you can have a full stable, leave some for others. I've only seen about 3 wild horses in my entire play time here(before now), I hope you don't make me regret telling you this.

After hearing about Bloodhorror I read some of the older pages. Seems problematic people cropped up occasionally. I wouldn't be surprised if someone decided they need 4 horses.

Besides, if I thought that lowly of you then I wouldn't have mentioned the herd.

Guys calm down horses are fairly common! They spawn on any plains biome, including savannah plains which is where I got mine from I live on that biome they spawn occasionally now I have one or two wandering around across the river from me from time to time so they do respawn after the herd goes... As with all my animals I only ever take two to form a breeding pair. I think people just need to calmly step back from this issue take a breather. There is certainly no need to start flinging accusations around over mobs of all things

Also let me alleviate your worrys this terrain had been generated previously it's inside the current furthest nether portal in west tunnel I know of at least 3 people who have bases beyond the edge of that map edge

I have horses very close to the portal in Savage Island if anyone wants to breed from them (head north in the Great North Tunnel then follow signs).

Let's enjoy exploring the world too. That's part of what Minecraft is all about. Anyone wanting to go to completely new places can do so fairly easily just by extending a Nether tunnel say 500 blocks off the map, which gets you 4000 blocks off the map once you transfer to the surface world.

As much as I can't speak for him I'm certain that lotet was perfectly calm, as was I. One thing guaranteed to make me uncalm, however, is being asked to calm down when I'm not at all riled. Nobody was flinging accusations, either. You're treating this as if lotet and me were in a raging argument.

Hmm.. now that I hear PC Minecraft has an infinite spawning world.. I am suddenly more interested in making the jump from console to PC... however wonder if anyone could help me a sec.

I did the free trial on PC about a month ago and one of the silly differences that quickly did my head in was the fact with the PC you have to construct your tools in the box every single time.. seems daft but after playing the console with a one click your done set up all this time, the PC way seems clunky and time consuming to me. I had a look for mods, but there are so bloody many (which is a good thing long term) that I thought I'd just check if anyone here already use's one they could pass on to me, so I can go straight to a mod that does what I want it to.
