Ah! Binidj, sorry, I keep forgetting people aren't as familiar with the place as I am. I have a little stone hut to the... I think South East of the main keep in the courtyard that's stuffed with chests- one of those has a bunch of slimeballs in it. It's my holdover from the previous server, my dense storage area. I'm planning to move it when I get my main storage area finally built.

I think that there's already folks on the server who chat on skype, so I'd imagine that a dedicated teamspeak could perhaps make that sort of thing more accessible. ...Ah, me not having a mike (and having you're a typical Angry Glaswegian accent) may not find quite a find quite so easy however.

I'd be very much in favour of this, when Dark hosted a temporary TS server for the End Dragon kill (before it was reset) it was great to chat away.

I hosted the TS server during the dragon fight as people wouldn't likely have time to stop to type and it would be good for communications in that particular event. My main concern with running a TS server permanently was that it fragments the chat a little. Yes, those who don't want to talk can still listen in and only type replies, but it also changes the (normally) casual aspect of the game a little too. Some people might not want to sit with a headset on just to keep up with what's being talked about during normal gameplay.

That said, if people are having their own Skype chats because there isn't a TS server, then that's more fragmenting than there being a TS server. (Not everyone wants to share their Skype account).

So yeah, I'm a bit undecided...

I'm starting again.... building immense walls. This time I'm surrounding my whole areas with 1 huge wall.

To see how big this is going to be look at the massive Acacia roofed building near-ish spawn and enable tilde signs

With teampseak you can mute yourself and other players while still being in the channel.

I'm not sure who to ask, but I have 2 requests for the vanilla game.

1. Can someone with creative access do the command to add arms to my two armor stands?

2. Can we take a vote to up the difficulty to hard?

And in general I need 1008 obsidian pieces or just under 16 stacks if anyone has any the can part with, contribute, trade or sell.

Yep, it was coming along nicely except for one minor problem but it should look cool when I'm done

You can also just make separate channels. For instance the server could have a channel for a specific build project, one for general chatting, another for a mining/dungeon raid.

Sure, I can give you a few. At the very end of North Tunnel there's a chest with 5 stacks of Obsidian you can have. Is this the kind of mob grinder that can work when it's only 25% completed?

I vote an emphatic "no" not to the concept of a vote, just to the idea of increasing the difficulty to hard ... unless creepers are removed, then I'd be fine with it.

No thanks on the difficulty increase. In single player it's fine, in multi, lag is too much of a problem.

Ok I'll wait another day before I do the gold farm to see if he posts here. there's nothing in the faq about not building mob farms or gold farms. For the record I will make it look cool, and not leave it a big block of obsidian

@Lotet, Thanks for the obsidian, I'll wait til I hear back from darkinnit before I go collect it. It will work once I get just one portal in, each additional portal just makes it work faster.

Wow, if that's the case, then I'm really glad I didn't make all sixteen stacks.

Thanks, got carried away and I swiped 2 stacks of lanterns worth of material, which is probably more than twice as much as I'll ever use, so I might return a stack.

I'm not against mob farms. I was against the use of an exploit to reach the nether roof and take advantage of the spawning rules/effects up there.

What advantage would that offer? I know you can sorta cheatzy-doodle the Wither but is that it?

It is possible to break through the bedrock above the nether, then build some really high efficiency farms up there. Doccm built one that can farm ghast tears.

No we will never upgrade to hard mode. There are a lot of casual players in this game and server.
