I'm on a real LOTR high right now, so I've been playing Third Age Total War, a mod for Medieval II Total War. It's absolutely amazing!

Farcry 3 now as well; much more interesting than I expected.

Also, had no idea it was splitscreen until we looked in-game.

Nice.

Baldur's gate 2 is one of the best PC games ever. Some rich gameplay there, not often rivaled.

I was a bigger fan of Icewind Dale 2 (liked 3rd edition better than 2nd), and Neverwinter Nights, but even though I prefer both of those games over Baldur's Gate 2, BG2 is fantastic nonetheless

Got Portal 2 as a Christmas present and can't believe I waited this long, as it seems to be a very good sequel indeed.

Will start Resident Evil: Revelations on the 3DS soon; the demo was encouraging.

Crusader Kings 2. I was the King Edward III of England's son, Richard II. I decided to take Wales and half of England for myself. I betrayed him and created the Kingdom of Wales when my father was fighting in France.

though I probably won't play II (and its expansions) much, I like proper RTSs (build a base) to the "look, 1 building!" skirmish style of II

Age of Empires 2, only because I LAN with my brother over the break.

I play currently Dishonored. I need to say that this is the best game 2012 for me. The character and the athomsphere are just plain awesome. The gameplay is simple but effective.
I can only reccomend it.

I am playing Minecraft while training on Runescape.

I am still playing Skyrim, i have put mmo levels of time into that game (at least 400 hours). For me the DLC's are easily worth the money, in economic terms the utility they provide is easily worth the investment. You mention bargain bin games, what's that, about 12 hours of fun? I think it's pretty obvious what the waste of money is.

Picked up Dishonoured for £0.89 a few weeks ago, it was pretty good but it just feels quite cramped, even more so than Human Revolution which it resembles closely. Unlike Skyrim the designers seem to have planned for every strategy the gamers might attempt and for some reason, i find it stifling. The art/general visual quality (as opposed to fidelity) is amazing though. The setting is also very interesting even if the characters dont seem that deep. The gameplay mechanics are all polished to a mirror sheen, and navigating the levels as Corvo is a joy. Just wish it was more open was less about the missions and more about the world.

People have since told me the last DLC is so big that it's worth it.

You picked up Dishonoured for a buck? Are you sure you didn't accidently steal it?

Currently playing: The Secret World and EVE, with a tiny bit of Metro 2033 and Torchlight here and there.

just picked up Farcry 3, as well as continuing to play some SWTOR...

I'll be throwing in some MoH: Warfighter in there as well as probably some NHL 13 (since i dont have the real thing as an option)

Fallout 3 keeps sucking me back in, went deathclaw-dodging in old olney yesterday with only a 32. pistol and a sawn-off... that got messy fast...

Considering getting New Vegas soon, hopefully

Resident Evil: Revelations is turning out to be very enjoyable, with well balanced gameplay and intense boss encounters. It treads the line between the early and modern titles almost to perfection (I'm not a big fan of the mission based structuring); and the replacement of the money system with interchangeable weapon upgrades feels more natural to the Resi experience. Other slight gripe was the enemies seem a little same-ish so far, but otherwise I'm scoring this very highly; Capcom please take note!

Yep. I like to play as dukes or princes and decide to alter history a lot in the making.

Been playing Mechwarrior Online like its going out of style.
Had some really epic fights. If you like big stompy robots and stuff thats free give the open beta a try.

I've tried a few factions, but so far I've stuck with Dale. They're just so fun!

Indeed, although I find the early game somewhat hard. You really need the better troops you get later on to stand a chance, unless that is just me being a bad general.

I found it challenging as well. I find TATW to be quite a difficult game.

Indeed I find the Dwarfs, Harad and Rhun to be the ones who from the start have the chance to hit hardest. While the likes of Dale and to a certain degree Rohan and Eriandor can have a difficult time dealing with the hordes pouring out of Isengarnd the Misty Mountains

Dead Space 2.

Unfortunately after reading a preview of DS3, think I'll be giving that one a miss as they seem to have reduced the suspense factor quite a way.

I finished Far Cry 3 PC - but freaking flickering and some low res shadows made me "delete it"...and yes I'm a graphic freak....
