New Leaf got me to push up my planned 3DS purchase. I was originally going to wait until Pokemon X&Y were released and buy the inevitable bundled special 3DS.

I'm in the same boat. Between New Leaf, Pokemon X&Y, and the new Legend of Zelda, I might be getting a 3DS in the near future.

Frostfall, Realistic Needs, the hunting overhaul all add a fair bit for my chosen method of gameplay. Psikotics Necromancy mod also makes playing a necromancer viable and pretty fun.

As far as quests - I did the Moonpaths to Elseweyr and that was pretty good, but it was one of the first adventure mods to be released so it can be a bit rough in places.

Call of Juarez - Gunslinger.
Did not like the first one, was not interested in other two but that one is a great. It may be a little short (I did not finish it yet) so some kind of sale would be preferable, but other than that the gameplay is good, the way the story is told is awesome.
Definitely one of the best games I played this year.

Something with rear thrusters so you can boost up and then along to save those endless hours crawling up a mountain to get to the point of interest / mineral deposit you've been looking hours for? Something more like the Hammerhead from the Firewalker pack maybe? I always though it was a kick in the pants that you couldn't use the Hammerhead from then on, you used it for the Firewalker missions only, everything else was back to the Mako.

Is scanning planets from orbit from some console on your ship more fun?

No it's not. Doesn't stop me wanting a jump capable vehicle that allows you to jump and go forward at the same time, or having a boost function like the hammerhead does. And I preferred the weapon mod system from ME where I can put a scope on whatever weapon I have to make it more accurate, or better cooling so I can fire more shots.

Don't get me wrong, like a lot of people here, I don't like ME's inventory system, it's just that I'd put up with that to get ME's weapon modifications. ME2 didn't have anywhere near that level of customisation for the weapons. Armour was great, you could get multiple linked upgrades and you had almost unlimited visual customisation too. But where was that love when it came to dishing out the pain?

As to what I'm playing now.........

Thanks to very ropey internet connection and no connection at all for the last 2 weeks.... Guitar Hero on PS2, relaxing by playing the first couple of sets at the highest difficulty I can manage.

It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." Aside from occasionally blowing up Fedrats in MWO, I've recently picked up Star Trek Online again. The roleplaying community is still as nice as it was when I went inactive and I've recognised a lot of old faces (or rather names). The game has come a pretty long way during the many months of my inactivity, having implemented a host of new features and stuff to do, including an entire new semi-faction (Romulans). For one of my characters, a pirate, I'm currently grinding the Risian Corvette, which is a small and nimble high-tier ship that players participating in the currently active Summer Event are able to acquire for free. Otherwise, I'm having fun creating silly duty officer assignments (such as scheduling a mandatory therapy session between two counselors, or telling my exocomp to participate in a martial arts exhibition) and do 5-man Special Task Force missions or 20-man Fleet Defense scenarios with the people from the STORP channel.

Also, mah Romulanz:

I am balancing time between the new Deadpool game on PS3, Rugby Challenge 2 (B&I Lions edition) on PS3, and Guild Wars 2.

Been having a ton of fun on GW2, so the other two get bumped back (plus the kids and wife tend to get more of the TV than I do)

I have been playing a lot of Total War Medieval 2 as of late, its something deeply satisfying with watching a sea of heavily armed cavalry slam into the rear of already engaged enemy foot men. and to see your cavalry scythe them down as they flee in terror.

800 handgunners versus 1600 peasants went better than expected for me- about a quarter got shot charging, then only a hundred or so got into melee, the rest fleeing.
with most of the handgunners keeping them running with volleys, it turns out a few peasants armed with pitchforks can't really do much against steel plate.

Just blasted through 1st episode of The Walking Dead. Holy crap is this good Not usually one for interactive stories but I actually feel like I want to play through the rest to see what happens.

Think its more down to the fact that there is Moral choices which are a shade of grey, none of this good/bad that was rife in the Fable games. I want moral choices to be tough and not know what the benefit of taking one over the other.

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

I bought Operation Flashpoint in the Steam sale. Despite remapping the controls they still seemed really clunky (oddly getting rid of the mouse scroll function entirely in lieu of sticking all those controls onto other buttons), though this is something I found inherent to ARMA too. The game seemed to assume a lot of me, considering that a manual wasn't provided, nor does it play like a typical shooter. The Ai was horrendous, where the enemy either stood still and shot in my general direction or stood still and did nothing at all, and the squadmates were no better. Perhaps I asked too much of the squad command system, but I really wished that I didn't need to tell me squadmates to stop standing in open ground being shot and to move to cover instead of having to pause and navigate the clunky menu to do so.

So pretty much the same issues I had with the ARMA series too. Though with ARMA you at least never see your death coming half the time unless your paying attention. With Operation Flashpoint you have to run about an inch in front of the enemy's face before they're actually capable of placing a few hits on you...

Trying out the Firefall beta right now. It's... interesting. Some latency issues, and, like many games in Beta, could use more tooltips/guides/tell-you-what-stuff-is-things.

While enjoying Ar Tonelico I fell victim of the mighty Steam sales and among others I bought XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Grave mistake, it has been a while since I spent 3 hours playing and constantly thinking "Just one more mission, just one more mission".

It didn't help I started in Classic difficulty and I didn't play the original games. I was about to rage quit the game in the first escort mission, when a Thin Man ALWAYS managed to snipe one of my team with overwatch each and every time I tried to move. After 8+ reloads, I said to myself this was war and I couldn't keep everyone alive, said individual took one for the team and bravely died as a meat shield and now the game is fantastic

Never managed to do that and I hope I never will, I'm not able to pull an all-nighter and live to tell the tale .

3 hours is already an impressive achievement on it's own. For the past few months I only managed to play around 1 hour or less and then it's back to the painting. XCOM made me go "Screw that!" and just keep on playing
