Giving borderlands 2 another go.

Also, thinking about starting a new Dark Souls play through, I'm thinking no shield SL20...

Back in Skyrim again. Must be about my 10th character now, with an average of 100+ hours on each. Most are sneaky archers, but I've gone with a Nord 2H guy this time, siding with the Stormcloaks before visiting High Hrothgar. Going to finish the Civil War and Companions quests before I go see what the Greybeards want.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." I like it! But there are some things I dislike.
1. The arc between easy and standard, on easy it's too easy on standard (especially vs CSM) all they do is pump out massive forces that I can only take out do to my obsessive upgrading. it would take me well over an hour to take out a CSM base on a large map. on a small map that's a easier bit, but otherwise...

2. Tau they seem just as overpowered in there as in 40k tabletop, I played Tau on a 6 player vs 1 Eldar opponent, I had a little trouble getting off the ground then once I had my army I was unstoppable! I put 2 or 3 maxed out fire warrior squads bunched together with a Hammerhead and I was unstoppable! I had them on the top of some stairs and didn't even have to pay them attention! They were throwing 2-3 Wraith-titan things at me along with a host of guardians and they couldn't touch me!

3. Stealth it is STUPID! OVERPOWERED AND STUPID!!!
Seriously? Making unit invisible AND ABLE TO ATTACK!? What were they thinking? Ugggh...

4. Necrons. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PLAY NECRONS. They play to my strength (defensive play) due to needing only power. But they build so slowly! Playing on standard, CSM kept pumping out Khorne 'Zerkers that would come up and smash my Necrons. Uggghh... I'll just go back to Orkses

Balance is a bit of a non-issue when you only play against AI. Also, seems like someone doesn't know how to zerg rush.

Zerg rush? Please explain?

From star craft. The zerg race's basic trooper spawned 2 weak zerglings instead of one marine etc. A common tactic was to quickly mass up a horde of zerglings and swarm the enemy ASAP. Get a batch of 12 or so and rush the enemy position, good chance that they would meet only workers or a couple of defenders.

Has been used ever since in RTS games and anywhere else you want to describe a mindless horde charging around. Like people playing battle grounds in wow just storming around in big groups etc.

So we can assume that the advice was to spam out a bunch of basic troopers and overwhelm your opponent before he can tech up o get significant defenses. You've gotta be quick and efficient though, or you'll meet resistance and early all in builds like this die to the attrition of a drawn out assault. If they survive w/o significant damage, you probably can't catch back up etc.

It is amusing just building a base full of artillery - I defeated some computers without leaving my base lol, but it got old so now I'm on the hunt for something else to occupy my time.

Having problems with the companion quest "Purity", I get to where Valkas wants to cure himself of the beastblood and follows me out of Jorvaaskar. But once outside, he just turns around and re-enters the hall. Even if I fast travel, he does not follow me and therefore I can't put the head on the fire, and I can't cure him. The quest transfers into the finished section of the quest log, but it is obvious that nothing has been done with it.

The first time that happened I had to wait a couple of days before he would talk to me again, then he gave out a couple more companion quests before starting "Purity" again, but the same thing happened. Thereafter, all he will give me is "Purity", and then he won't follow me! If I just ask him to follow me, he refuses as I already have a follower - presumably him from the quest.

Getting pretty fed up as this is now the second (third?) character I can remember this happening on.

Elder scrolls games are full of bugs. More news at 11.

As for me.

Borderlands 2 mostly this week.

Will be starting Armored Core Verdict Day when I get home today, not entirely sure if I'll be getting heavily into the MP of that though, very much depends on what they fixed.

Will most likely be playing more EU4 again next week, Burgendy needs to kill more.

Done all the campaigns for Magic 2013. They were fun. The new mode in this one is Planechase which I can't say I really enjoy actually. It's not as good as the previous edition's Arch Enemy mode.

It's no longer available. They've been releasing two games a month for free download, the first game is available from the 1st-15th, the second from the 16th-the end of the month. Magic 2013 was from the 1st-15th, and Rainbow Six Vegas is avail till the 30th. Jump on it, son!

They've been giving away some good free games and RSV is one of them. Unfortunately already got that one. Did not save money that time.

My point was that Necrons build so slow that rushing is virtually impossible.

I know how to rush with other factions (Orks especially)

Ahh, my bad. Tone of voice would have carried your meaning, silly internet (and silly me for thinking someone wouldn't know what a zerg rush was)

I'm seriously considering dusting of my Magicka collection... I still need to beat a couple of the newer survival modes and I think I have two story modes I haven't played all the way through.

*edit*

Actually, screw it. I'm going to load up wh40k: space marine. Its been ages, and with the new 6th ed codex in hand, I'm feeling all power-armory and stuff. Stalker bolter and lascannon come to papa!

Yeah, I think its all the same. Zerg just did it best cause you could make so many so fast. Aside from speed and early pressure, I don't think they really do it any different in theory.

And damn space marine, right to hell. Even though the bolter still feels too much like an assault rifle, even though its stinky ultramarines... stupid game makes me wanna paint space marines in a bad way
