Rift has a lot going for it - the way you build your character can be a lot of fun - and the zone invasions and stuff are awesome. I got to the point where all I was doing was raiding and quit before the big expansion, though.

Been rocking BF4 this weekend.

Its a bit different from the BETA, as expected, so took me a bit to get back into the swing of things, and so far Im digging it. Also, my team was curb stomped by a fella in one of the attack helicopters and so I figured it was time to learn to fly one to counter them. And I have to say, the learning curve was WOW hard, but Ive got it down, and the last match where I needed to fly, I took out a jet and 2 other chopers before smacking into a tree like a dunce and crashing. I didnt die though, I bailed at the last minute and survived for a few moments

Still going through The Last of Us with small side treks into GTA 5 and Assassins Creed 3.

Got up to Winter in TLoU. Man, that's the second time that's happened to Joel. You'd think he'd be more careful falling off edges. I have a bad feeling about these people Ellie has found.

The girlfriend talked me into making a character for EverQuest II a while back, but I'm actually getting around to playing. It's not bad...a good time waster if nothing else is going on.

I'm going to give Tera another chance. I tried the trial when it wasn't F2P and I really enjoyed the combat system but I got bored before doing any cool instances.

Trying once again with a loli warrior . Hilarious how her swords are bigger than she is.

Path of exile and MWO.

Right now I'm mostly angry at Capcom because they never release monster hunter on a platform that.. makes sense.

If it was cheaper I'd get a WiiU just to play it.

Words can't explain how much I love that game. I've played through it at least four times! And the story...just keeps getting better and better!

Agreed, feth that ending.

I'm trying to find a good Epic Fantasy game, or a solid FPS I can just lose myself in the story.

Oh I have nothing against the ending. It fit the game really well.

It's just that I don't find many reasons to keep playing an open world game once the credits roll, and generally by then I've burned out and don't want to replay it. But I just wanted more. I did that final Stranger mission after the credits rolled and put it away.

Yeah, I'll agree with that issue. Luckily, the Undead Nightmare DLC came out right after I finished the campaign LOL.

And as for the ending -

Spoiler:
I'll never understand why people didn't like the ending. I mean, it's the perfect cowboy game. Bad guy tries to redeem himself...but life is never that easy for a cowboy outlaw. Son gets old, and goes down the outlaw path to get "revenge" for his dead father. It's great in my opinion, and I'm glad they didn't try to give it a more..."positive" ending. But to each his own and whatnot.

Spoiler:
My problem with the game was not that John Marston died, but that they forced us to continue life as his son, and his son had daddy issues. Kill a bear and skin it, kid says, "Just like you taught me pa!", "I'm John Marston's boy!", and other hackneyed lines like that made me dislike the game. I would have been okay with the ending of the game if it ended with John's death. But please don't make me live through the remainder of the game's side missions and the 1 or 2 final storyline missions as Jack.

Ah, yeah, I can totally agree with that.
Spoiler:
Luckily, there's not much to the game after John dies, so you don't have to deal with it for long. I had most of the game completed when I got to the final mission with John. My brother, on the other hand, rushed through it, and had at least five side-quests open when he finished the game...so, he had to suffer through playing as Jack to finish them

Red Dead has a great story and visuals but the core shooting gameplay is not fun in the slightest. The shooting is just awful and the mission design is incredibly boring. Not to mention Marston moves like a canal barge on foot and is about as big a target as one if the cover system is anything to go by. Shooting from horseback requires 3 hands unless you use deadeye and missions commonly spawn endless waves of Horseback enemies at you, who have the accuaracy of Marine Sharpshooters.

The only fun to be had with the shooting is from the, often hilarious, 'natural-motion' middleware powered deaths.

You find me a person that actually enjoyed the terrible mission when you're on that barge to Mexico i'll find you a liar. It's ironic that one of the best moments in gaming history, the bit with the song when you first touch down on Mexico, is after one of the worst missions i've ever played, that barge one.

I'd still give the game an 8.5, anything horse related is good and a couple of the minigames are good (though they're mostly terrible). Unlocking the outfits is quite compelling and Marston has a great deal of fun ways to interact with people and the environment.

I don't think you're were playing it right. Red Dead has CoD style quick scopes. The shooting was actually a little too easy.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with this. I turned off the auto-aim on my most recent play through to make it more of a challenge.

Echoing that. Shooting was ridiculously easy in RDR. Most of my deaths came from me being stupid (like shooting my own horse in the back of the head at full run), not from being outshot by enemies.

Not to mention, Dead Eye is there to use. It's not a cheat or anything, it's a game mechanic they put in for you to use.

I also never found any problem with the barge mission. Like, at all. But go ahead and call me a liar, and I'll just go ahead and say you're just bad at games.

I didn't say it was difficult. I merely said it wasn't fun/was boring. EDIT: Marston not taking cover right was sometimes frustrating. You didnt say you enjoyed that mission so my point stands.

EDIT 2: The barge mission sucked for reasons entirely separate from difficulty. In fact about half way through i stopped shooting 90% of the enemies. (IIRC only the guys with bombs were a threat). The mission went on forever and simply consisted of shooting baddies, with the occasional bomb thrower. You stayed crouched behind the same wall for the entire duration without any need to move.

I've had GTA V on the go since it came out. I have to say, I am actually really enjoying it. I hated GTA IV, and didn't think much of San Andreas; Vice City was the last one I really enjoyed.

I've just finished FFVII for the umpteenth time, only this time I actually beat Emerald and Ruby. So, I'm looking for another game to start now I have a little more time. My unfinished/unopened games that I'm considering are:

-Tales of Xillia
-Skyrim
-Red Dead Redemption
-Hitman HD Collection
-Batman Arkham City (with a view to getting Arkham Origins if I finish that)

Skyrim and RDR are good choices, Skyrim having waaaaay more to do. I have about 250 hours into it, and the only quest I've fully completed is the main quest line. I've heard that Origins was kind of a disappointment compared to Arkham City, but I haven't played it myself.

It probably will be Skyrim if I'm honest. I played Skyrim solid for 6 weeks when I got it on release day, but then my friend accidentally saved over my game (just being lazy with the autosave tbh). So, it's been almost 2 years since I actually played it. I'm a huge fan of the series, so I am looking forward to giving it a go again.
