Yeah parking on armatures and delivering the killing stroke on foot is hilarious. So is making badguys ragdoll with the throw power... Do the Adepts get really badass throw/explosion moves in ME2+? I know they wouldn't get biotic charge, but that thing with the successive concussive blasts in a line was pretty amusing too. Maybe I just need to play an adept to see...

Well in ME2, it looks like they get Throw and a power called Shockwave which is a pretty nice throwing-ish move (it goes through walls... I think). In ME3 they get cluster grenades so they get an explosive attack that works like frag grenades in ME3.

Oh, right. Also, after the first game, if you import your character from the first game to the second, you can still change your class in the beginning so if you want to play Engineer for ME1 and change your mind for Adept in the second, you can change it. This is only in the very beginning though and you won't get another chance to change it until you restart the second or you move on to the third.

So, what's Engineer like?

I only played the infiltrator, but I think engineer is a lot like Tali. It specifically mentions healing the squad which... might be neat.. maybe. But I'm not sure if I'm down with the drones it would be using in the second game (if it still works like Tali).

I'm afraid adept will be too squishy and not "in your face" enough for me. Grandfathered AR helps mold the Infiltrator into something that can be fairly aggressive.

I think I'm just going to have to go google it and find tables for all of the powers of all of the classes and do some thinking

After reading about/considering all of the combos possible with the various biotic powers... may have to reroll adept afterall... Lift into sniper shot to the face. Lift into throw off the ledge. Singularity into party double throw. Since adept gets pistol and basic armor it wins for me over sentinel, and even the medic specialization wasn't enthusing me for engineer after reading up on it. I"ll just bring Tali.

I have been playing some early access games on Steam.

Endless legends; a fantasy 4x game based around Endless Space, pretty much a full game in terms of mechanics but a lot of content is needed for the final game.

Prison Architect; a game built around designing prisons. Surprisingly difficult but again fairly close to a finished game.

Maia; Dungeon Keeper in space, its in quite a primitive state at the moment.

Meridian; 'old school' RTS game. Not quite what I was expecting

Kensi: Mount and blade but with settlement building and a Japanese(ish) aesthetic.

I watched a video of Payday 2 where the player murdered 200+ constabulary officers to steal 50,000 bucks worth of jewelery. I never thought a game would make GTA 5's heists seem realistic and sophisticated.

I decided to pass on it.

I've heard that Payday 2 is supposed to be an amazing co-op game, especially when you're playing with friends.

And if you're drinkin' well, you know that you're my friend and I say "I think I'll have myself a beer"

Oh man, Maia and Kenshi look awesome. Good call.

And back to space engineers survival mode eating my life - nothing like reading a book while I weld heavy armor tiles.

Should I go for the M4AE8 or the M4AE2? The E2 seems better.

Both have a long way to go, Maia is basically broken at the moment and its little more than a framework. Kenshi is missing a lot of features and its horribly balanced. This time next year though they should be a lot better.

You have chosen poorly, due to how patches are done the PC version is superior to either console version.

It's amazing when you play it with a solid crew. Or a bunch of donkey-caves who kill everything in sight.

My PC broke a while back and I only have a several year old MacBook so I went for the console version.

Replaying mass effect and while the controls and combat are a little ropes the story and world building feels far superior to previous games.

Finally settled on an adept with an assault rifle, though I might have considered shotgun harder had I remembered its active ability. I'm having a lot of fun picking the meanest/most hostile responses possible and all of the gun waving and brow beating the renegade options entail.

Tbh I am using the pistol more than anything else.

The pistol in Mass Effect was easily the best weapon. I only ever used the shotgun/assault rifle when the pistol overheated. The sniper was only ever good if you had a fair amount of distance between the target and even then you probably had to get close to finish the enemy.

Decided to start playing a game from 14 years ago. I picked up the Sonic hits collection and I'm loving replaying through Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

Yeah, renegade can be a lot of fun. I always preferred the shotgun over the pistol though.

Started playing Dwarf Fortress. I went on Adventurer mode to see what was what. (the whole game is in ASCII code)
Didn't know what to do so in the game so I randomly wrestled with a farmer. Now the entire village (which is full of people that seem to love hunting Dingoes for some reason) was trying to kill me. If you can get past the graphics being made out of letters and numbers, it's very detailed... even in combat... which can be pretty gruesome.

Started playing Persona 4 Golden on the Vita last week, haven't stopped since. I've only really been on the computer lately for tips on builds for the team members in the game, it is surprisingly addictive. The soundtrack is also pretty damn awesome.

Back to Skyrim for me. Playing through as a High Elf Paladin- Restoration, Heavy Armour, single sword and shield. Got Dawnguard installed, so gonna go heavy into the Sun magic and anti-undead stuff.

Been Playing Spec Ops following it's discount on steam. I've forgotten how much fun it can be to just waste an afternoon playing a linear, cinematic campaign. Makes me yearn for all the CoD campaigns i've missed out on (haven't played one since MW2, not out of snobbery btw). I really wish the multiplayer didn't hideously inflate the prices of even legacy CoD editions, i'd gladly pay ~$50 for a campaign Anthology.

Also a bit more Skyrim, really wish there were more mods that just added no nonsense extra content like Falskaar (only in quality mind, i'm not expecting the same scope). There's alot of ways to enjoy Skyrim's gameplay and visuals (especially with mods) but the vanilla missions have gotten seriously stale for me. Bethesda made it very easy to make new dungeons and, to some extent, quests with the Creation Kit.

Unfortunately the Creation Kit also made it easy to make followers and player homes so the Nexus is just knee deep in those. This does mean that because of sheer quantity there's alot of quality mods. However You'd think that after a couple years of Creation Kit there'd be enough user generated dungeons of high quality to keep me going indefintiely. There's certainly enough player homes and followers.

Spec ops the line is surprisingly deep story wise for what seems on the surface to be your standard shooter.

I am just about to move onto mass effect 2. Also picked up symphony of the night for 4 quid so going to relive that.

Maybe I'll try my hand at a couple quality dungeons, actually. I got into modding with Oblivion, and it's actually what put me on my current career path. I'm sure I'd be able to figure something out.

Anything in particular you'd like to see? Any enemies or dungeon themes you'd like to play against?

Your current career path sounds interesting

I honestly hadn't considered picking up mods to get *more content* beyond helpers and gear (which seemed boring). Additional themed dungeons and the like may warrant a look.

Played some of UFC undisputed 3 with freind yesterday. ITs very clunky and sometimes the fighters look like rockem sockem robots in how they move but I am looking forward to EA UFC in a few months as EA MMA was pretty good even though it needed polish in a lot of places.
