It's cool - my current character is a Nord hunter and associate member of the Companions(previously infected with the Werebear curse - which is why he preferred to live in the wilderness) who was nearly killed when vampires raided Whiterun, and so he began actively hunting them. He found a vampire plot to take over his adopted home town of Morthal, which he put a stop to. That showed him how they are a real threat to all of skyrim, leading to him joining the Dawnguard.
Currently running mods to enhance immersion - realistic needs, immersive patrols, frostfall, immersive hud, immersive armors, bandolier bags and pouches, climates of tamriel with supreme storms and volumetric fog, trade and barter, real shelter, wet and cold, etc.
I love all the extra armors - wearing an outfit that fits my character the whole way through the game? Yes please.
Sounds awesome. Is the Werebear a mod, or is there some way of becoming one in the base game? If the former is true, I once again lament the lack-of-modness inherent with the Xbox.
I'm fairly sure it's a mod.
I might be wrong (and often am) but on Solstheim (sp?) via the Dragonborn DLC there is a guy that's a Werebear...and I could've sworn you could become one via him. Then again, I'm almost always a Werewolf so I could be completely off base.

You can't become a werebear without mods, no. Luckily: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/35470/?

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

So I fired up RE6 to see how it looks on the new TV and ended up downloading a patch that unlocks Ada's campaign from the start (never did finish Chris' story)... so I started playing that.
Wow... her campaign is the anti-fun. I have died so many times and for so many stupid reasons that it isn't funny. I never had this level of difficulty playing any other character. I'm liable to /ragequit and go back to Samurai Warriors 3 Extreme before too long.

Just started my first-time Witcher 1 playthrough on the Enhanced-Directort's Cut Edition-thing. I like the combat system, it's a neat little way of meshing action-style combat rewards (chaining attacks together for more powerful combos) and RPG sort of strategies depending on the opponent (the stances). The story seems pretty interesting so far (I've only just finished the fight at the keep in the beginning), I can only hope it get's better.

Its a fantastic game. The biggest complaint is usually the battle system but if you get on with the battle system you should love the rest of the game. The effects of your choices often wont be clear until an hour or so of game time after you make them.

The things where you've got to push a button at just the right second to get away, or knife them in the eye, or so on? Yeah.... those are lame, like... anywhere.
Maybe if I were watching a movie and they popped up it would be cool and immersive, but screw it in a game.
Now the events in the walking dead game where you had to randomly mash buttons to survive, or repeatedly thwack a zombie with an axe, or whatever... those didn't bother me quite as much. I think there was still timing involved and a large portion of them were somewhat similar to what I was just complaining about... I dunno, maybe it's the difference in the rest of the gameplay, or maybe I'm just a bit of a hypocrite.

I could live with the qte bits in re4 because the game was otherwise fantastic but as a logo time fan of the resident evil series 6 was so dissapoining, to the point where I have still barely played it.

I find that the vast amount of quick time events in games are just poorly utilised, for example trying to turn what could be a perfectly reasonable cutscene into gameplay. I just don't find having to press a certain key/button when the screen prompts me to be any more engaging than it'd have been to watch the character throw those punches or w/e automatically and unprompted, and it can turn what should have been a well-flowing cutscene into a choppy mess. Depending on the game, it might punish you for missing a prompt or even just do it for you if the prompt is missed or left for a period of time. Those QTEs can get fethed.
I'm sure there are some that fit, but I've yet to really play a game where QTEs were anything more than an annoyance.

I find the tell tale games qte are good but that's because the entire game is like playing a movie and you can often make choices during the QTE sections

I picked up Eldritch in the Steam sale there for £2. Its a decent enough game, despite the visuals being rather ...retro (I can see they were trying to go for the nostalgia angle). So far I managed to cruise through world one and the Mountains of Madness, but world two's a real git. I'd say its a problem with level design that there's two types of unkillable enemy on those maps, not just one, and both appear more frequently than their killable counterparts. ...But I'm also going for the best ending, so by that point I'm running around with only one special item, so I'm handicapped somewhat. It is a roguelike though, but I think the game would flow better had they not made the second level suddenly much more difficult than the first (...eugh, being killed just as you're about to click the exit is always a drag. ...Especially when you wind up reviving yourself twice in the process). Not a bad game however, even if it could do with maybe more variety in items (something the Mountains of Madness DLC fixes a little, but it would have been nice to see more in the base game too). =P

I should really get back to playing Dark Souls. I heard I was about to face 2 bosses which were considered the toughest in the game (not sure how they figured that out). It's when you're in anor londo or something after being flown there and you get get to a weird mechanism that rises and lowers and leads to a bunch of areas including a smith. After these 2 big knight dudes you get to these big doors with 2 bosses and that's about where I left off at. Perhaps I should try dark souls again and get frustrated until I kill myself from sheer gaming anger though it's never been that serious by a lot.
Also it would seem we're both in the same state. That's kind of cool.

I need to get back into it as well, but I'm just having to much fun on Skyrim at the moment. My rules about sleeping every in-game night (unless there's a reason not to like an urgent quest) and no fast travel make it a lot longer to play through quests, but at the same time, things like the journey from Castle Volkihar to Fort Dawnguard (ie the length of Skyrim) feel much more epic than just opening the menu and fast travelling.
