Neverwinter Nights. I had a copy of Diamond sitting on my shelf since forever, so I decided to dust it off and try it out. I 'm running a necromancer and all I can say is squishy wizard is squishy.

Not a fan of how limited the system is for generating attribute points, though. My wizard has an INT of 16, because I needed 12s in everything else. That sort of thing makes it impossible to play a paladin, when three of your stats need to be 16s (at least).

Decided to suicide, because I had geared up, morphine and everything. So went to cherno, shot down a few bambies. Got killed. Logged out and went on the lower count server, got killed by zeds FOUR times, the weather system is stupid, and the whole thing is just laggy as now. Going to log and stay off for a few weeks.

Bit of a masochist with this game eh?

No wargames these days, more DM/Painting.

I paint things occasionally. Some things you may even like!

Regarding D&D/computer games, The point-buy you usually get stuck with often does suck for stat-intensive classes. Especially in NWN when you're all by yourself (except for the companion/merc). You can have a squishy or clumsy wizard when you've got 3 party members to back him up.

I had a dwarf monk for my furthest playthrough with that game, he eventually got such good saves and spell resistance and dodge bonuses he could punch ridiculously trapped chests to death and ignore the damage. My wizard didn't make it so far.

Put it this way, you need to be put under survalience as that may be considered self harm.

BG isn't a huge deal, as long as you manage to run away from wolves and gibberlings till you can get to Khalid and Jahira. NWN1 you're kind of stuck with just one meat shield, liable to get dicey.

I did a pure, non-multiclassed wizard in NWN1 from start to finish, including both xpacks...

Ok that does sound annoying. Did you at least pick a specialization or did you do vanilla and miss out on a spell per level too?

You were just doing a challenge mode, like beating a game without leveling up or only using storebought gear, etc.

I couldn't even finish the first game, the plot was just so... dry. I got to luskan maybe? Or the town outside of it, no I think it was luskan... I forget now, but man I just couldn't do it. I knew Aribeth would make a terrible villain so I just didn't wanna even see it.

Oh neat. I probably own it, may have to play through it again sometime. I remember the traps were kind of fun to dismantle and re-set. Maybe a wizard-rogue this time, fighter rogue was cool though cause he would always disarm and trip people and then stab them for mad crits while they were on their bums.

Been grinding MWO in the hopes that I can get enough money together to try another chassis that isn't the free trial one, but that's slow going. DDC being left behind by my bodguards = frustrating day. Trying to justify spending a few bucks to get some MC and maybe a hero mech and unlock some paints so I don't wander around in matte green forever.

Also, been playing Age of Kings: HD edition too and the updates are pretty awesome, definitely a recommendation from me if anyone liked the game.

Also, finally finished my DA2 playthrough...sigh. The boss from the Hawke background xpac was harder than that lame ass templar at the end of the story.

Yeah, fights get pretty one-sided if the mobs take a disliking to you and ignore your damage sponge. My wizard's familiar pulls double duty as light dps and off-tank, just in case the enemies decide they don't want to mess with my NPC's higher AC and stunning fist (I took the dwarven evil monk dude).

Quick question for those in the know... when running as a fighter (because I'm going to make one eventually), who makes a good sidekick out of the starting batch of available NPCs in NWN1?

The cleric would help you stay alive. Rogue and maybe later on the monk can help with chests and traps (rogue with skills monk with damage resist and spell resist plus brute force). I wanna say my not-exactly-drizzt-wannabe fighter/rogue was solo so I didn't have to keep micromanaging my helper while I was sneaking.

Started playing System Shock 2. It's got just the right amount of horror I hoped for in a horror game. Gives a good scare, but lets me sleep at night.
Also got Blood Bowl: Chaos Edition on a steam sale. Despite the opponent seemingly getting luckier rolls most of the time, I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would.

Had a shot at Sunless Sea, I'm not the biggest Steampunk fan but this game is actually really fun. It's a bit like FTL but more focus on exploration rather than combat, each time your ship goes down you get the option to save a skill, a shipmate or the ship's charts, this makes it really replayable as each time you start fresh with extra help letting you do a bit better each time out while extending the storyline, the game itself is still Early Access on Steam although it is described as "late-beta" stage
First time out I ran out of fuel about 100 yards from port and had to watch in despair as my boat was ripped apart by a giant crab
Second ship ran out of supplies with the only ports in range having no food for sale, in the end a cannibal ate half the other crew which reduced me to a skeleton crew which left me unable to outrun or outmanoeuvre a pirate ship which promptly blew us out of the water
Third Ship is still running wild and free with a magician on board

Currently hammering away at Shash 4. How am I liking it? I'm enjoying it immensely. It's a whole new game, and trying to figure out match ups all over again is pretty refreshing, honestly. Everyone in the roster plays damn well, and feel solid. It's nice to see that online, I've been getting huge challenges out of fighting characters I've never really seen anyone play outside of just friendly matches, and doing exceedingly well with them. It's a breath of fresh air not seeing only Marth, Fox, Sheik, Falco every time I play :p (Granted, those guys still show up from time to time)

Ah world events in WoW, the last one I was present for was the opening of Ahn'Qiraj...which was awesome in concept, but executed so badly. Lag out the wazoo.

Hopefully they've fixed that.

Apparently the Blood Bowl game has a real-time mode. I heard it was awful, but maybe it could be fun to watch two AI teams duke it out.
As a Dwarf Fortress player, I'm feeling interested to pit Dwarves against Chaos Dwarves.
