There is not this idea.

See, thing I found frustrating in Long Live the Queen was the gameplay. The game as an idea is interesting, but in practice it always seems to come down to repetitive skill grinding, just in order to get through some of the deaths.

I played it until I got one of the more victorious endings, and haven't really looked at it since.

Seems like you have to play most of the way through multiple times to get half of them too.

Just started playing 'Mafia II'. It's been on my HDD for around 2 years and I've never gotten around to playing it until a few day's ago. It's quite good...

Finally deleted AND removed Dayz from steam. Had it with that game. The collison detection is awful, the physics are just mindgacking boggling, and basically camp central.

I can't get a mothertrucking break with any of my games.

So bascially, it has not changed since the first Alpha?

If anything it has degenerated

Just completed my second playtrhough of Excom enemy within and damn! Particel cannon, a Paladin mec and some rather liberal amount of alloy cannon to the face saved the world from the evil aliens once more

Suck's to because it's a great idea in a great setting. They just kind of screwed the pooch on everything from there on.

I had a real close game with CthululuSpy today in xcom: enemy within and i won but barely. It was 20k points per side and he took a mech and lots of weaker dudes. I had dudes with augmentations and some good armor and plasma weapons. I'm still not sure how i missed not just not killing but not hitting his character with a scatter laser at point blank range and he shot twice. Keep in mind this guy was also built around doing more critical damage so the fact he didn't even hit was rather crappy. I'm reminded just how good specialty plasma weapons are killing most of his dudes in one hit most of the time.

Anyway it was a good game despite some weird luck considering i killed 2 of his guys with one shot each when i first discovered them and the shotgun shots missing at point blank range.

The match ended with our heavies in a stand off against each other and my heavy being the more powerful one managed to kill his. That said i only had 9 hp left and considering it was a captain in titan armor he did quite a bit of damage (about 9 damage to me). Basically if he had done as much damage again my heavy would've died and he would've won the match. Very close and fun game. Thanks to CthululsSpy for the game.

The Developers have added huge challenges, with stuff like weather and body temperature, whilst not fixing zombie AI and glitches. There is no incentive to talk with other people or help them. The idea behind Dayz SA is sound, but the execution of the alpha really really sucks. Basically BI are forcing people into conflict. I don't like developers basically making people do stuff they don't want to, to progress in the game.

Dark Souls 2, getting fairly near the end, I think i only have four or five bosses left to do iirc correctly.

The game has almost lived up to the Souls reputation of being very difficult but what Dark Souls fans fail to confess is if you're having difficulty with a boss there's a good chance there's a summon nearby to help you. If you're a real coward you can go into a boss with 2 players helping you, it might even be 3 i don't know. As far as i could tell the bosses do get a slight increase in HP when you bring in another player but nothing that counters the massive advantage.

One issue with the player summoning is that it has led me to not even try bosses myself. Sometimes i would spot a summon sign at the entrance of a boss and not be able to resist. I think i killed the skeleton lords in about 45 seconds and the guy i summoned did practically nothing, however that victory is tarnished as i'll never know if i could take them myself.

I would say that the NPC summons don't really count as they merely distract bosses but they are still a great boon. Lucatiel did a fine job of tanking the Smelter demon but it was still up to me to do the damage and finish the fight when it had half health.

I decided i would never summon someone to help me clear a level though, only for bosses. I have to admit that The second half of Iron Keep and the Shrine of F***ing Amana have had me in paroxysms of controller-crushing Rage.

The Nadir was in the Iron Keep when i couldn't find the last bonfire (the one in the minotaur's head). I had cleared the entire area up to the Iron King's boss fog but i had one more small path to explore. Hoping for a bonfire and a shortcut to the boss i instead found a chest. 'Hey cool!' i thought, up until the moment the mimic revealed itself and ate me.

Leaving a sign to have yourself summoned is a key strategy as it gives you your full max health back if you help defeat a boss but it can be frustrating.

ESPECIALLY idiots who don't burn the earthen peak windmill. 'Oh great, cheers pal, this easy boss fight, which i soloed on my first attempt, is now incredibly difficult, oh look and that's you dead already from poison. Bye, have a beautiful time!

Oh and people who don't roll away from the Smelter Demon's AoE blast. Plus those that wail on him when he's charging up his chest and sword, 'Yeah great job! What's that 30 damage a pop? Oops that's all your stamina gone, you're sure gonna have trouble dodging.....Bye, Have a beautiful time!'

Excellent, outstanding game; basically the Thief 4 we never had. The last fight was a huge let-down, but the overall game was brillant.

Thief 4 we never had huh? Thats a glowing recommendation.

I didn't think thief 4 was a bad game. But it was a bad thief game.

Anyone here have Endless Legend on steam? I bought it for full price at $35 and none of my friends are willing to get it till the holidays. Its such a fun game, but after 5-6 playthroughs, you start feeling lonely...

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.

I only have 'endless space' but a friend has 'endless legend' and 'endless space'. I think he also got a dungeon crawler one from the same developers. Can't remember the name right now for the life of me but i'm not really too bothered to care.

My cousin got me playing Diablo 3 with him for a few days.

Barbarian on normal difficulty is easy mode, it seems. Or even easier than easy mode. Does it get harder?

Try barbarian on inferno difficulty at act 2. Enjoy trying to survive the first elite mob ;P.

After about the first few patches i pretty much stopped playing diablo 3. Not sure what changed after.

^No more inferno difficulty

I forget what they call it now, torment or something? Bit different, bit the same. That last time I played for a bit I tended to adjust it on the fly based on whether I had good gear for the level or not. Got kind of weird, I think I was going to hit pre-expansion level cap well before the last act.

I just can't play that class if they won't let me dual-wield throw everything to death!

D3 has certainly gotten better as time has gone on...which is sort of sad considering that Blizzard had a chance at launch to do it right.../shrug

I still go back to it every now and again and farm some Torment stuffs, but after leveling your sixth character...the novelty has long since worn off and it's just a grindfest of a game. Hopefully with the next expansion (like RoS) life will be breathed back into it.

Had a shot at Sunless Sea, I'm not the biggest Steampunk fan but this game is actually really fun. It's a bit like FTL but more focus on exploration rather than combat, each time your ship goes down you get the option to save a skill, a shipmate or the ship's charts, this makes it really replayable as each time you start fresh with extra help letting you do a bit better each time out while extending the storyline, the game itself is still Early Access on Steam although it is described as "late-beta" stage
First time out I ran out of fuel about 100 yards from port and had to watch in despair as my boat was ripped apart by a giant crab
Second ship ran out of supplies with the only ports in range having no food for sale, in the end a cannibal ate half the other crew which reduced me to a skeleton crew which left me unable to outrun or outmanoeuvre a pirate ship which promptly blew us out of the water
Third Ship is still running wild and free with a magician on board

third ship gotten smashed up and eaten by a giant Shark, not even the magician could save them
the Captain of the fourth ship managed to scrap enough echo together to buy himself a nice house and a will, then he ran into massive financial difficulty and had to hang up his sailing cap
His inheritor is currently facing more financial struggles but she should be able to pull through it although the map has changed due to me not keeping charts hanging around

Currently debating whether to study for my exams or paint some Deathwing

It's gonna be a while before we get to that. We're both pretty new to the game, and ultra slow gamers. I think I might try making a wizard instead. I'm sure the game will get repetitive after a bit, but right now that's what fits my needs.

Still playing Blood Bowl. I'm thinking of having a campaign with every possible team (About 22. Got Chaos Edition)
So far I have 3:
- My Chaos team, the Warp Wolves, that I seem to play best as so far. Not very good against Undead tams though.
- My Dwarf team, the Carpenter's Saws, which is AWFUL so far (haven't won or even tied a game yet and is already 2 players short.
- My Orc team, which is doing... okay-ish. One draw, but they're good at blocking, so I'm hopeful.
Might try a Wood Elf team in a bit. That or Vampires.

Still playing Mafia II, but my play time is being interrupted by Half-Life 2. My brother had a copy of the Orange Box lying around on 360. And seeing as his 360 bit the dust some time ago, he just gave it to me

I'm loving playing it again, I never finished it first time round. So here's hoping I get the job done this time!

My gaming for a while has been nothing but:

- Diablo 3, Hardcore Mode, playing on Expert / Master. My solo character is a Crusader but I'm playing with Cirno the Wizard when playing with friends. Also on Hardcore, Expert and up.

- Ar Tonelico 3: The combat is God-Emperor awful, I don't remember the last game I hated the combat so damn much I had to grit my teeth to resist turning off my console after each and every fight, BUT, it's the final game of the trilogy and I REALLY loved the other 2, so I REALLY, REALLY want to complete it. After that, Ar no Surge, that looks so much better.
