The Witcher isn't about sex. Not in the slightiest. It's a leftover from the first game that had the stupid card idea and people who reduce the game down to this just don't know much about the game. Ok, finished up sunrider. 8 hours, although it's probably should be more like 10, as I accidentally skipped a few side missions (pretty good for a free game). That and I'm really good at tactical games, but damn is that game frustratingly hard. I might try and to a play-through on spacewhale mode (the hardest difficulty) just to see how long it takes me .

I'd really like to see the dev take the battles and management features of that game and make another, more expansive game. It felt like there was available progression in that game that I couldn't get to because there wasn't enough battles. Although it did leave at a bit of a cliffhanger, so a sequel might be possible.

I also discovered that I kind of like the visual novel form (makes sense, I like books, video games, and a good portion of animu), so I might try some more of those.

I've played it. It's fun, though some of the audio comments can get a bit tedious.

"Ima firin' mah lazers!"

From what I understand, the game isn't complete yet. The base game was released, and a subsequent patch was released that added more missions and storyline. One more content patch is on the slate, and will probably occur during the fall of this year. That patch should wrap up the storyline.

And, as you point out, the missions can be *very* difficult. I played it in VN mode just for fun, and even in that mode some of the missions could very easily have been lost (I didn't actually come close to losing any of them, but some minimal tactical thinking was still required to beat them).

The reason why the last content patch hasn't been released yet is due to another project that's available on Steam. Sunrider Academy moves the protagonist to a school of the same name. The protagonist is the school's Student Body Vice President, and is helping the President (guess who) get three clubs back on track. Said clubs are run by girls who are suspiciously similar to Sunrider Academy characters - namely, Miss "Firin' Mah Lazers!", the baking-obsessed engineer, and the character recovered from stasis (can't remember the names off the top of my head; it's been a while). AFAIK, the other girls aren't represented in the game. There's a demo out that covers the first part of the game, and I believe the completed game is now available for purchase on Steam.

There have been some vague hints that they're up to something. Unfortunately, I don't think any actual details have been provided.

And Firaxis and 2K have not abandoned the property. Firaxis did a week-long publicity event focusing on a different game each day, and XCom was included. And I still get updates on Facebook regarding the game. No real news, but lots of stuff that ensures that people are still thinking about the game.

I will be very surprised if we don't see a sequel announcement in the not too distant future.

Fully correct. If it comes down to it, the only upside Skyrim had were the graphics.

Graphics were mediocre. Combat system was utter trash. Balance was terrible. Story not existant. Zero memorable characters. Lots of immersion breaking i.e. by having a "civil war" with 10 combattants per battle. Poor AI. Bad interface. Etc. Skyrim was a giant game with lots of exploration but if you closely look at its individual components, you wonder why you love the game so much.

Well i only played the first game. Perhaps i went in hearing the complaints though. For me though i'm a massive pervert i don't really like to combine it with anything though i find dirty movies that have ridiculous set-ups (the crocodile hunter searching for the devine booty or a dude removing a mattress tag and getting arrested by a mattress policeman if he doesn't take it up the butt) to be absolutely hilarious.

So yeah for me at least it was immersion breaking to play and partway through going through about a paragraph of dialog with a woman she is somehow convinced to bang. I won't lie that it excited me but in such a way to break immersion.

You have to admit Triss is pretty freaking hot though. Sorry if my hormones are acting out but dayum i'd tap that. I'd tap that till i died of exhaustion probably.

-------

In a positive light as i said before 'The Witcher' has some nice fantasy setting and interesting plants and mythical creatures. Elves and dwarfs fought together in the first game. Perhaps you guys would judge me for choices in the first game but i chose 'the order' or in other words the religious dudes. It was more because the non-humans kept taking humans hostage and the fact that up till the bank scene when i was forced only two choices of both main quest-line characters i preferred the holy knight priest dude. This is more how i felt of the elf guy (which i thought was a jerk that was full of himself) and the knight (which was religious but nice and totally vouched for you before). Sadly later when i had to help out the town they reversed the roles with the female characters and one was totally rage induced (partly with reason) while the other was nicer in general. I wanted to help the non-humans escape but couldn't at that point. I only really saw myself as a peace-keeper in the game or somebody to help out civilians.

I also found the potions interesting but without them 'the witcher' was basically half a man (joke about that however you wish).

Personally i couldn't enjoy the decision-making in the first 'witcher' game. Everything seems so extreme in one direction or another. Seriously can i protect the witch in the first act without burning down a whole town and killing everybody just because the angry mob fights back. Surely not every single person in the town was super bad and i don't think it required an absolute purging even if the witch was super good. Seriously only crazy people murder on that type of scale (purposely anyway).

This may shock and appal you, but I don't think it's unbalanced at all.

Yes, I can see your reaction:
Spoiler:

Right, hear me out:

Many times the match maker is spot on. Sometimes the matchmaker gives more ships to a side that doesn't have as many high tier ships as the other. Good idea in theory, bad in practice. The "ZERG RUSH" usually wins but I've had very balanced matches too. You just need a team with functional human beings instead of "LOLOLOL I'M ON A BOAT, LOLOLOL!"

Why? 'Cause this ain't WoT, boys and girls, here every ship counts, every ship manages to damage the opponent, never mind the tier and if that wasn't enough, Torpedos are the supreme equalizer.

No ship is God, the premium all have their strengths and weaknesses. I've already seen a Yamato going down HARD without doing diddly squat because it advanced solo through an area where many of us were gathered. Yes, it took a hell of a beating, but battleships aren't eternal.

Of course, next big update we are getting American Battleships and Japanese Air Carriers, so who knows what happens to balance then!

P.S: Because of the overwhelming requests, Wargaming decided that if you buy one of 3 Premium ships they have for sale (already got 2 of them Wargaming is already making money out of me and it's a closed beta ) you get CBT access so if you are really desperate for HOT, SEXY, JUICY AND STEAMY SHIP ON SHIP ACTION (and who the feth isn't?!), this may be your chance!

Come, KONGOU IS WAITING FOR YOU!

Spoiler:

Are you going to leave that girl hanging?!

(and here's a review of the current premium ships that give you access to the CBT)

(Yes, I had FAR too much fun with this post )

There are a few aspects that I want to see changed. Like the energy system, I don't like systems where movement and attacking share the same bar because one is way way more importation then the other and you end up getting really static slug fests. They defiantly need more dialogue choices. I often disagreed with both of them, and there really needs to be a "exasperted snark" option, which is what my reaction was most of the time.

Not actually how WoT works but sure.

And yes and no. it all depends on where you hit a ship, with what etc. Torpedo's can and will sink you in a single spread. Battle cannons (15 inch and up) can kill you in a couple of hits to the citadel.

WoT has the armor and armor slope thing: If your shell doesn't penetrate it does nothing or the slope of a tank's armor can make a shell bounce.

In WoW you will always damage enemy ships, doesn't matter what tier you are. The major damage is when your shell penetrates the citadel, otherwise you may do reduced damage because it didn't fully penetrate or it over-penetrated (like a battleship shooting against a destroyer. It will either work very well or the shell will just over-penetrate without exploding and will do minimal damage).

Of course battleships are suppose to hurt like hell. We fire once every 30 seconds.

Not that many. I've never seen ridiculous scores like I see in WoT either with one guy carrying the entire team.

The max I have seen was 4. I ALMOST got 5 (once) but I got wasted by a destroyer... using it's cannons and I was in a tier VIII battleship. I was in such low health after a battle with a cruiser and an enemy Battleship he didn't even need to use torpedos.

Who knows how. The game has a few alignment bars. You have your kind of good guy vs practical guy bar. Then each of the girls has their own bar attached to them. Your final choice likely has a consequence all by itself.

The real question is how long will it take for the next episode and if they will be making any improvements to the mechanics. Oh and that reminds me. The command point mechanic was rather cool, but under used. I loved the idea of a limited currency that let you pick extra dialog choices, but I could only recall two times when I had the option and they options weren't much different then the ones you already had.
