Spoiler:
The Master below is the Adra Dragon...instantly killed my party the first time I encountered him. First attack, all down.

I was really disappointed by the ending of Endless Paths. I LOVED the way down there. I was addicted to getting lower and lower and to finally get to the bottom of it all. The first annoying thing was that you are forced to follow the main quest to learn a language in order to open a locked door.

Then being faced with a nigh-unbeatable foe at the end (I was level 7 iirc) was a huge letdown. Really felt like running straight into a "Nope, gotta wait 'til level 12, son!" wall.

...and GODDAMN I HATE petrification!

Yes that quest line seems a bit.. lacking. Anyhow, I decided to hold of killing the wyrm and focus on lvling my party. Following another questline I am now in some temple of sorts, with robot like foes, and not suprsigly more locked doors. I am done sneaking in the backdoor, gonna just kill the tribes folk guarding the front door.

I was playing Don't Starve. I was actually really enjoying it.

Then I died.

And found out it was a perma-death game and I had to start all over again.

Stuff that.

Playing the campaign of galactic civilizations 3. You play as the terran alliance liberating all the factions the drengin took over but as you can speculate from the trailer the terrans from the pockets dimension might be EVULZ!!! So yeah prophecy yadda yadda. I'm only about 3 missions in (with the exception of the tutorial) so we'll see how this goes. Sadly i must report there are quite a lot of crashes forcing the game to need to be restarted. Quite lame that isn't hammered out yet. Oh and the resource boosted weaponry and defenses rock your socks off. I had two really beefed up ships take on 8 with better weapons supposedly and kill all of them though it was a close fight. So yeah even with the same tech level resources play a huge role giving you better and lighter equipment though at a cost of limited resources. You also have to protect starbases that collect the resources.

The game is definitely much improved. It went from Galactic Civilizations 2.5 during the beta to nearly about what i'd expect qualifies a full sequel. The crashes can't be overlooked though.

Funny thing is that if you go that far in the Endless Paths early on, your party is very strong and just waltzes through everything in their way

So yeah Galactic Civilizations has plenty of crashes. Not only that but i've only done mission 3 where you release the earth from their shielded prison and suddenly the game won't continue. No achievements to be had for getting your homeworld back and seemingly nothing for beating the game. Somehow i don't think that was the whole campaign but if it was then i am unimpressed and also wanting my achievements.

If anybody else has heard the news Galactic Civilizations 3 also plans on having like 5 DLC per year for 7 years at 5 USD per DLC and multiple expansions.

I'm actually kinda angry right now after how long ago i purchased this.

http://steamcommunity.com/app/226860/discussions/1/35221031569673689/

Scroll down to expansions and DLC. Also apparently like all other DLC they released the game without some features in the previous game to release them later for an extra price. Sad that yet another company went that route.

Actually turns out this isn't new knowledge. I guess i should've looked at this before going in. Just expected more campaign. I better not have to pay for DLC just to finish this campaign.

Here, have a cookie! What sort of party do you run?

Cleric of Tempus (free axe feats at the start)
Paladin/Fighter
Bard (randomly picked)
Rouge (ranged crossbow build)
Druid (there's a segment in the game that needs wilderness lore and I dislike Ranger)
Wizard (enchantment focus)

I mostly use Rouge to scout and trigger the monsters into following me into entanglement/other similar spells. Cleric/Paladin/shape shifting Druid are decent for whatever crawls out of the AoE. Wizard and Bard are there for more AoE crowd control spells or buffs.

I also follow the following advice(s):

Playing PoE some more. Still waiting for it to get as good as BG 1&2, and IWD 1&2. At the moment it reminds me more of the Diablo series. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But it isn't good.

Path of Exile is supposed to be more like the Diablo series. Right down to the whole isometric aesthetic and the point-and-click.

I wonder about getting back into it, actually. I've been playing some DII, but it's showing its age.

My build on Hard (w/ companions):

Eder (Warrior Main Tank)
Siegvater (Paladin Shieldbearer Main Tank)
Aloth (Mage Damage Dealer)
Durance (Priest)
Marielle (Custom Cipher - Grieving Mother is terrible)
Kana Rua

PotD build (no companions as they are trash):

Paladin Main Tank
Monk CC Tank
Barbarian Damage Dealer
Cipher Damage Dealer
Priest Support
Chanter Support

Fighters are useless, they cannot deal with so many mobs at once and they do nothing but taking hits in general. Rogues still deal a lot of damage, but with all the additional enemies and increased attributes along with nerfed tanking, you're looking at instant-death damage dealers that cannot do anything on their own. Out. Wizards take long to get good and then offer too less to be worthwhile. Ciphers just outdeal them by an insane margin.

Key to victory is equpping your backline with the best black powder weapons you can find and then casting Ra over and over. Pew pew pew.

Monks are super awesome on PotD. You absolutely need all the disables and they offer so many!

I disagree with figthers beeing useless, my Mail characther is now an absolute powerhouse. Everthing became a lot easier after i passed lvl 6.
I took grieving mother because i liked her portrait, chipers are great for just pummeling enemies with all sorts of pain.
Also the dragon is now minced meat

On PotD? Fighters are great on the other difficulties, but on PotD, they lose their value as they just cannot tank enough.
