Yes, it's the developer's fault. They don't use any compression, so instead of downloading compressed files that are then uncompressed during installation, you are pretty much 1:1 downloading the entire game on your computer, resulting in a huge installing size. Another problem is that the game is installed in all available languages.

New Payday 2 heist out today, so there's that.
Also picked up the first episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2, which is decent enough, though the Raid mode is good fun, if only to see Barry act like a little schoolgirl because of the emotes the game uses.

Worse, it actually punishes you for being good as the whole rival system is kinda meaningless for a decent player.

Played FTL yesterday, was going for achievements so when I got to the end, defeat was inevitable. I did unlock the B version for the crystal ship, however. Looks like that free expansion added some C versions of ships, gonna have to look into getting those.

I'm getting pretty good at actually finishing games! I just won a game of Age of Wonders 3, playing as a dwarf druid. A bit of an odd game, though, because one of the AI lost to independents. I ended up conquering two others, and allying with the last guy. It took 109 turns. I have no idea if that's a small or a large number.

It's an excellent game. Word of advice though - avoid going into your first play through as clan Nosferatu or Malkavian.
Nosferatu because you'll be forced to use the sewers and sneaking paths to avoid interacting with people, missing chunks of the interactions with human characters, and Malkavian because well. . . they're a bit. . . odd.

Jumped back into Starbound headfirst. Been playing on and off the last day or so. The Outpost and all of the quests seem a lot more streamlined and entertaining than they once were (basically generated from the crafting menu), and there have been some pretty significant quality-of-life updates... Smelting ore is now on demand rather than having to queue them up and wait (cooking meat still works that way), which is pretty nice.
The Matter Manipulator is also the primary tool for the whole game, pick axes and drills are short-use items that give you a boost in your speed but break fairly quickly, and the MM gets plenty of upgrades, eventually becoming the strongest tool (rivaled only by the diamond drill and only then if you want to go exclusively straight down in a 2 block wide shaft).
Bosses are pretty fun now, they all get spawned for missions which take place on planets who have some kind of 'locked' attribute. You can't mine, harvest, dig, build, or place anything at these places... all you can do is interact with stuff and fight. No more invulnerable dirt mounds of doom!
Pretty fun, I'll likely burn out pretty quick, I usually do on this kind of game.. but its being pretty entertaining for the moment.

Any of the others is fine really.
Its just that Noseratu cannot pass for people so have trouble wandering around and interacting and Malkavian are fething insane so it makes conversations hilarious but difficult to follow

Still out in the black, exploring the galaxy in Elite: Dangerous, but that gets a little boring when you are just scanning everything in a system and moving on to the next, rinse and repeat. Not found anything that unusual up to now, got 2 earth-like worlds, 2 worlds that are 100% metal, and a number of waterworlds and gas giants with either water-based or ammonia based life.
Thinking of springing for "Homeworld: Remastered" as I loved the original "Homeworld" when it came out first and the ability to play it again, with better graphics, is indeed appealing - and "Dawn of War" seems no longer able to hold my attention for my RTS fix.

Any of the clans with Celerity - I did a largely social Toreador for my first playthrough waaaay back, and it was fun; but there are significant chunks of the game where you will be basically forced into combat - since they were rushed to release the game - and Celerity makes even the most unskilled character pretty bad ass by level 4-5. Plus dodging bullets is just plain fun.

Same - first run through was as a Toreador, second was as a Malkavian. God damn was that fun.

I've started playing a bit of Napoleon: Total War.
I like it, it's like Empire, which is quite possibly my favourite of the series so far, but a bit more polished. Enjoying what I've played so far.
I also got Star Wars Republic Commando on Steam the other week, as I unfortunately never had the chance to play it when it first came out. DAMN that's a good game, even though it's a good few years old now.

I struggled to get into empire. Don't know if it was due to less interest in the period or just how huge the map was.

It was Empire that got me interested in the period!
I started an American War of Independence army because I was inspired by Empire, and I suspect Napoleon will inspire me do so similar.
As if I didn't already have enough projects...

Toreador aren't really more human so much as they gain or lose humanity faster.

Ahh i see. I remember it saying they were more in touch with their human side or something like that but considering it was about six years ago when I last played I could be misremembering.

Well, they're human looking. Their monstrosity is by no means absent, it is simply more manipulative and subtle. All the vampire clans are monstrous.

Human looking and human behaving. Their character is ,arguably, even more sinister than Nosferatu, as the latter are more about hunting individuals to satisfy their thirst while especially Ventrue would have no problems organizing human genocides.

Well, time has also shown that humans, regardless of nationality, have no qualms about committing mass human genocide. So, I'd argue that they aren't that much more monstrous than us.

Life Is Strange. Again. I have a weird habit, where every time a new episode is released, I play the episode. Then I do a new full playthrough of every episode so far. Ep1. Ep1 and 2. Ep1, 2 and 3. etc. I've never done that with any of the games by Telltale Games like Walking Dead or Game of Thrones. I also have the full soundtrack downloaded to a playlist on my Kindle and I fall asleep every night listening to it. (Sometimes I like to mix things up and listen to Ben Howard instead. But only sometimes). Am I obsessed? Edit: huh, a new Episode of Game of Thrones was released today??? ... Life Is Strange it is.

Yeah, noticed that. But while I own Game of Thrones, I've decided to hold off playing any further until the entire thing is released.
That's in contrast with Tales from the Borderlands, where I can't wait to play each individual episode as it's released.
