Beat alien isolation. So that's done. A good game, but very frustrating at times. Not touching the extra content though.

That's in contrast with Tales from the Borderlands, where I can't wait to play each individual episode as it's released.
I'm like that with Life Is Strange.
I mean, god damnit, that episode 3 cliffhanger? Now I gotta wait another 6 weeks.

I'm kind of surprised nobody has mentioned Galactic Civilizations 3. I thought a couple people were excited about it?
The campaign is only 3 missions (excepting the tutorial) and disappointing but the game is decent. I still think i'd take endless space over it but the resource based buildings and weapons allow for some fun stuff.
I'll admit the game isn't too special but i am just surprised nobody would even mention it at all.

So I'm going for a mega trip in E: D this weekend, but in the meantime I have bought Homeworld Remastered and am having quite a nostalgia kick out of that. Not got as far as I had in the original yet, and have decided to start again with modified tactics which should improve my ability to progress the game.
As I was getting that through Steam, I noticed a demo for Kerbal Space Program and decided to give that a whirl as well.
Man, I suck! Once the Kerbal professor dude has dissapeared, I can't do anything. After realising that there were many more parts than he lets you select, I trashed the original capsule, fuel tank, engine set-up he lets you build and tried to make a much larger, more complex design - and I can't get anything to lock together, not even the same components I originally used! I can check from multiple angles that I haven't placed one component 20 feet behind the other, and I can get them to look like they're aligned, but they still don't seem to be connected.

I downloaded the Forsworn Legacy mod and the most appealing Druid type mods - the Wrath of Nature ones and a few spell add-ons to start things out, probably going to dink around a bit, do some of the College questlines and work on my magic, then do the mod quests.
After I become decently leveled, I'll probably start the Dawnguard stuff and become a Vampire - haven't gone that route yet, but I figure a slide from druid based conjuration to necromancy will be fun. Then I want to collect all the Daedric Artifacts and be an evil necromancer/vampire lord of the night, terrorize some villagers and what have you. Might start up the main quest at some point, but might not.

The original Witcher, because well now's as good a time as any. I played it when it first came out, but the devs half arsed it then because they didn't think it would sell well. ...In other words I played it for about an hour and hadn't made it into the first Chapter at all because the loading screens were that god awful. How surprised was I then that now, with hardware that's half a decade on, scene transitions take seconds rather than minutes.
...I still don't understand the combat system. Ok the different techniques are fine, its that half the time Geralt just stands about doing nothing as I frantically hit the mouse and beg for him to move his arse. That and I have no idea why you'd use any weapon other than the two swords at all.
Hopefully I'll have this game done soon enough, then it'll be onto the second to see if its a step up due to the devs actually giving a damn that time around.

Finished up lonesome road. That was good, very good.
Guess I'm moving on to FO3 now. Although there is still plenty to do in the Mohave, any plenty of places I haven't been, so I'll probably be back.
I ended at level 50, with 100 in almost every skill, the only ones that weren't were explosives (91), energy weapons (84), unarmed and melee (both in the 40s).

Well there's your problem; you do not frantically click the mouse. You have to time your clicks carefully between each sequence. If you look at your cursor it will sometimes be a flaming sword. That's when you click. If you try to click when there is no flaming sword, the sequence is broken and Geralt stands around like an idiot. Yeah, I didn't get the secondary weapons either. The hand axe is kind of useful late game for getting rid of shields, and I suspect the hammer might be good against golems, but other than that I didn't use them. Did you read the manual? Its really helpful.

Ye, the first Witcher's combat system is stupid. It basically is a bemani minigame...or QTE. You just have to click at the right time to deal more damage, that's it. Group fighting style is massively overpowered, so you'll never want to use anything but it for (almost) the entire game. The story's awesome though and for its time, it was a really refreshing game and, for a long time, the first adult RPG.

Its strong, but not quite overpowered; you'd still want to use Fast or Strong for single targets, as its just more efficient. But yeah, if you are surrounded by a bunch of enemies without shields, Group style can kill them at an absurd rate. I always max out Group sword styles for that reason, and get that knock down upgrade asap.

Finished Wolfenstein The Old Blood today and I was very, very pleased. It was a well paced game with good combat mechanics and some new tricks I quite enjoyed. Also the story was good, and the voice acting was good too. Particulary on B.J.
I will give the Wolfenstein The New order a second chance just because of this wonderfull add on to the series. Well done developers

Oh I can manage the clicks when a sequence of attacks have started. I'm meaning actually initiating combat is weird. You can stand in front of a guy and try and attack, but it seems up in the air whether Geralt will actually respond. So I know how the thing works, but overall it feels a little unresponsive and at times unintuitive. I suppose then I'll see a difference when I play the sequel.
...Ah, and I have the manual in the original box somewhere on one of my shelves. However that's for the base game, so I installed the Enhance Edition off of Steam instead. There's probably a manual with that, though I haven't bothered to check (though IIRC the original game was sold in Poland based on all the extra crap that came with it rather than the worth of the game itself due to their odd post-Communist attitude towards copyright).

Still playing Starbound, but i dunno for how much longer. The current tier of 'sidequests' you do to get access to the next ship upgrade is kind of tedious as all of them require you to find some usually insignificant/decorative item from a random dungeon/village type. And only one such thing can spawn on a given planet, so i've been flying around for days trying to track down the stupid stuff.
Otherwise reasonably entertaining.

I'm having trouble getting back into video games, honestly. Between my job and 40k, I just can't find the time to really sit down and play; nor can I justify it when I DO have time because then I just feel like I am wasting it when I could be putting a kit together or painting. Honestly, I'd like to get over this phase because I'd like to try Fallout: New Vegas and Shadowrun: Dragonfall Director's Cut.
Is this normal?
