Just done the ambush scene outside Candlelight keep where Gorion dies . Returned to loot his corpse (naturally) then ran straight into a black bear. Died in 5 seconds.

Yeah, I'm gonna be quick save whoring for the rest of the game.

Edit: Imoen: "This is so utterly boring!"

Go play with the black bear then you daft

...

If you go down to the woods today...

...

You'll meet a sociable hermit.

I tried to mug him but he vanished when he enters the fog of war.

...

Just met Gandarf. (Edit: actually, if I play a wizard I'll totally call him Gandarf).

...

Xzar is bat gak insane.

...

Montaron is having a bad day. Three near death experiences. First a wolf, then an Ogre. And now he's been struck by lightning.

Xzar is funny. So's the halfling. Also kind of evil, I usually picked them up and counted them as expendable. I mean the caster is pretty useless, but if you get him killed off and keep Montaron around (only way to have one and not the other, let xzar die) he's a pretty useful stabby sneak. But Edwin does evil mage better than Xzar (unless you really like a necromancy specialist mage over an evoker...) and Dynaheir comes with minsc if you're doing the goodguy party. Oh and Neera (I think her name is, new EE npc) the wild mage is pretty useful too... if you don't mind saving alot because sometimes cows *will* fall on people instantly killing them. And your money kind of disappears sometimes. Still better than Xzar

Xan's an option too, though he's pretty melancholy.

Imoen starts off kind of like a sort of bored kid(ish, not *that* young, but young at heart) and in the next couple of games she gets a fair bit more damaged/gloomy.

And, though it's been a while... it seemed to me that his reasons for doing the things he did were pretty.. i dunno.. petulant? I guess a lot of villains are that way though.

Also, back to Fallout New Vegas, just sold the large majority of my lightweight high value vendor items (NCR/legion/pre-war currencies, other similar items) and most of my 'backup guns' to pick up a MF Hyperbreeder Alpha for around 9000 credits. I'm currently skint, but this thing is a beast. Feels kind of like a wacky laser uzi and it just shreds things. And people. It really doesn't care, just point it at something and that something turns into a freaking pile of ash. And my laser skill is only 20. May be rectifying that. I was content with a regular recharger rifle but... this thing... is awesome.

Also awesome is the 40mm grenade launcher I found on a random viper raider guy. It needs some repair kits, but the gun runners alliance DLC means I can get a pretty steady supply of grenades for the thing and they're preeety nasty. Got a cache of plasma grenades for 'emergencies' which could also be read as 'whenever I get bored'.

Next time I play I'll have to start harvesting things to pawn to rebuild my caps, but the new guns are probably worth it.

I've somehow slipped back into playing modded skyrim again. New charater, a wizard, and I got tons or random mods (something like 124 at this point).

What's your luck stat? Heh, if you have access to the strip and the mod that increases the earnings cap at each casino to be a bit more reasonable you can have a field day. That and just some general fun if you're into those games. Dammit, I am not reinstalling that game again just to play bloody blackjack!

If you have lonesome road, that's a good way to make loads of money, although you need to be a decently high level. Just go kill a bunch of marked men, and sell their armour, that'll net you a pretty penny (or bottlecap). And you can head back whenever you want in lonesome road, IIRC.

Well, my Starbound experience was iffy tonight. I began a colonization project on an ocean world, which is starting to shape up nicely, but my little armada of NPC's in my ship began to despawn, leaving only 3 behind. Two of which I wouldn't as much as others that despawned. At least they didn't take my Floran NPC. I hope they work on that among other things, but it is only in beta so I have to expect this sort of stuff, I guess.

I think the issue is what he makes the players do to stop him.

He makes a believable case as to why evil characters would want to stop him. Morden games take note.

Melee? What's melee? I rolled about that game with a knife, but just wound up shooting most enemies. I would say that yes unarmed is good, and it eventually becomes really, really bent once you find a ballistic fist. I had zero points in unarmed and that thing still did more damage than any other weapon I could find. They make killing Caesar horrendous given how confined that tent is, though I think that was the dev's intentions (not so much me playing with a damage increasing mod which makes being slashed by a knife a few times or being shot once deadly. I wound up just turning on god mode for that encounter eventually).

Hm. I find melee useful for crowded rooms like that, especially if some of your enemies are shooting at you. Line them up a bit and you get less incoming shots while you mulch them down with punches. So far no unarmed weapon has matched up with my spiked knuckles, not even the regular power fist /lame. I just don't like that I need 60-90 melee weapons skill points to get some of the perks that also effect unarmed (power slam for free knockdowns is the first one, but there I think the one that lets you pierce DT may also be, and the one with 30% more attack speed at lvl 24+ needs 90 melee weapons.. as does the ninja one but that at least makes a bit of sense..).

I have been mostly playing Pillars of Eternity but finally, the Open Beta of WoWarships has arrived and my account was reset, save a few bonus because of my closed beta time. I haven't been playing because of the rumors and I'm glad they were true.

Does this guy ever shut up?

Spoiler:

Hopefully the Storyteller will be updated for Fallout 4.

Man, the Nexus Mod Manager is really handy. Wish I'd got it up and running sooner.

Downloaded a few small mods:

ShoddyCast's Storyteller companion mod
2 bug fixes (anti crash and the misaligned rifle iron sights bug)
Integrated Wild Wasteland (activates the Wild Wasteland so I don't have to waste a trait on it)
Perks every level (50 perks at max level )
Weapon Mods Expanded (3 Mods for every weapon)
Karma Perks (temporary perks which depend on your karma, discounts, extra damage etc)
Daily Vendor Restock (reset vendor's inventory and cash every day rather than every 4 days)
Increased Legion Presence (More Legion outposts and patrols in the south east)
Bottle that Water (refill empty water bottles by accessing a water source, and a canteen allows automatic hydration - no micro management).

Still alternating between IWD:EE and fallout new vegas.

Finally set to head to vegas, though I'm still meandering a bit. Sold all my guns and bullets except for the Alpha, I've been pumping energy weapons ever since I found that thing. Gonna have to keep an eye out for repair kit materials just to keep it topped off. I also splurged on a Katana as I'm going to have to eventually pump melee weapons to unlock some of the more useful unarmed perks like super slam and so on. Lv 8 and 10 perks have been godsends, pack rat nearly halved my carry weight, guess I've mostly got light stuff, and with strong back... 260 weight and half-weight small items means I'll be able to loot indiscriminately for some time

As for icewind dale... still chugging through the lower level of dragon's eye. I could be slugging it through all of the undead but I've mostly been resting to recharge my highest level spells and blasting a group or two apart before resting again. Kind of gaming the mechanics but even at level 7-8 a couple of lucky hits from the enemy makes a lot more work for me in patching up after the fight than simply pulverizing them and resting. Plus resting tends to attract more xp err.. I mean more monsters (who are filled with delicious xp ). The avenger druid is probably my favorite hero at the moment, the spell selection for IWD druids is top notch and the avenger upgrades it further. Plus he can web enemies and wade into the webs with impunity as a fugging sword spider! The berserker and paladin are still rocks, if a little boring. Cleric/thief remains as useful as ever, finally starting to get decent sneak %chance and disarming pesky traps though the slower spell progression (and priest spells vs superior IWD druid spell list) is a bit tedious. Bard is coming into her own, still doesn't really do anything but sing her amazing Skald song with it's ridiculous benfits.. but occasionally she stops long enough to sneak a shot with her bow, or drop a mage spell. Finally up to fireball or haste, both of which are somewhat of game changers, though less so in such limited quantity. Monk hasn't really blossomed yet. If I ever come across a mage enemy with illusion based defenses (blur, mirror image, shadow whatevers, etc) she'll probably peel them all off in a single round of detection (70% detect illusions so far), but her fighting and defenses still need a few levels to really start to shine.

Both games are pretty fun, IWD for when I'm feeling calmer and wanna explore/plan multiple actions.. and New Vegas for when I wanna run around shooting/punching things to death.

Very close to beating impossible ironman in xcom enemy within. It took forever but this playthrough should be the magic game. I managed to hold all of europe and asia as well as mexico (go figure). I'm basically one nation away from a full loss but currently i now have a good amount of genetically modified troops, everybody has plasma weapons and everybody is in titan armor as well as every nation now being covered by a satellite. I also have plasma weapon aircraft over the remaining countries and a firestorm each for europe and asia (2 firestorms total). Mexico will just have to wait for theirs.

Anyway so far i've fought every type of ship except the battleship, the ethereal ship and the temple ship. I even fought a landed supply barge (one of the harder ones to fight esp. since battleships in comparison have a good layout to fight in). When i fought the landed supply barge i had to take on 2 sectopods, 3 mechtoids, multiple sectoid commanders and plenty of sectoids as well as a cyberdisc.

I think it's about the beginning of september or october in the game. I've also just received the chrysallid council mission in canada with the fishing village. I've finished off exalt at their HQ, beat the alien base and successfully defended xcom HQ so there's really nothing to do left but the temple ship assault.

Oh and as for xcom 2's developers saying impossible ironman is canon? Denied. All it means is nearly half the world was destroyed but that's a small price to pay for victory and the survival of the human race of course ;P.
