I've started Rise of the Tomb Raider.

I'm pretty early on in it, but I'm pretty sure that Lara was just a massive jerk to a Legally-Distinct-Entity-From-Jesus.

The new System Shock demo. It's everything I remember about the original. You are nicely dumped in at the deep end having woken from a 6 month healing coma on a space station to find that most of the crew are dead, the rest have been converted into things you will have to kill - even the bots want you dead.

You start out with nothing, but are very quickly forced into an area where you will be able to pick up some important items - including the key to get you out of the very restrictive area and a piece of pipe as your first weapon.

The game rewards looking at everything, and exploring everywhere. It is quite easy to miss the area where you can pick up your first gun, and trying to take everything out with a pipe means frequent visits to the autodoc.

Excellent game, heartily recommended, wish I could afford to get the pledge level I wanted on Kickstarter, but have needed the money elsewhere, unfortunately. I will have to see if they will allow me to take out the smallest pledge and increase it after the campaign ends.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." Huh. Sounds pretty promising. Might give it a shot later on. Did they update SHODAN's voice? I know they kept the same voice actor (thank goodness), but hey, you never know.

Picked up Dark souls along with a few other games during the steam sale, started it up to find that it's basically impossible to play it using a keyboard so spent an hour trying to get my PS4 controllers to work on it to no avail, looks like it'll be a while before I play Dark Souls.

Apart from that I've been playing Far Cry 4 enjoying it a lot, stunning looking game and very immersive something I struggled with in the 3rd one.

Try using a knock-off Xbox 360 controller. Cheap, and easily compatible with Windows OS's

This. I believe the brand I bought is Rock Candy? $10-15 for a knock off wired 360 controller. Plug it in and game on.

I've been told that knock-offs don't work properly right off the bat, and you need fancy interpretation programs and drivers for them. 'zzat bullhockey?

pretty much. I got one from a game shop with glowy lights and gak, and one made of weak plastic and lacking controller vibration from ebay. Both worked.

Just make sure it uses a usb cable.

Beat Blood and Wine for TW3 the other day so I figured I'd go and start a NG+, seeing as I did everything I could possibly do. I found it too easy in that play through as well, so I upped the difficulty to death march, so we'll see how this goes.

Thinking about it, I might actually be hooked on TW3 now...

I had the same problem. Look for a program called DS4Windows.

Google search should get you right to the correct spot and all your concerns will be taken care of.

Ill look for the walk through link I found to help me set it up and add later.

Dunno about dark souls but my Afterglow from Walmart is kicking butt in general. Wireless though, not as cheap but I can't have cords around my baby and cat lol. PS style too, never got used to Xbox pattern.

Rolled a custom party for BG:EE, looks like they further streamlined and optimized the UI since they first released it. That, or I'm really forgetful. The zoom, loot window, and the way stuff looks in the menus is neat. I kinda miss the layout for the character sheets, think the new style is closer to IWD2.

Not sure I'll play alot, needs more attention than Neptunia which I'm still trying to finish.

I played in a 5 team Overwatch tournament. - We came second last, yay us! - In other words, we won one pairing out of our 4 games.

One thing I find kind of hard to do is working out whether I contributed 'properly' to the game. EG, we lose a game, was it because of my choices? It's hard for me to tell and often the stats / voting options don't give a real picture.

I think that's the biggest dilemma any OW player is going to have. Resurrect a single player or wait as Mercy, exposing yourself (any competent team is going to prioritise you), initiating as tank, looking at team and figuring if you need another tank or something else. Those aren't easy questions and sometimes I've felt that I did well (took reasonable risks, had good position) but we still lost horribly.

Playing co-op Space Marine at the moment.

I was actually having some pretty good luck on Overwatch the other night. I didn't win every game, but every game was closely-matched, they usually came down to the wire and were all hard-fought games. And no one acted like an ass, either, it was amazing!

It really sucks though when you're in full tryhard mode and you're giving it everything you got but your team just can't push the cart that extra meter (literally, one meter away from a win on Gibraltar).

With Mercy I tend to save my rez for when I can at least get 2 people. I don't usually "waste" it for 1 unless I'm confident I can farm charge fairly quickly (thanks Roadhog) or it's desperate, like we're in or about to be in Overtime and we need to stall.

Anyway, I'm addicted to Pokemon...again. I feel like a 5th grader, except this time I'm driving all over town excitedly flicking balls at things.

I'm still playing Overwatch a lot, and now that my nephew has it too we've been playing together. I downloaded a free copy of Deadspace for the 360 from xbox live, never played that one before. Been enjoying it, real creepy. I'll probably pick up part 2 and 3 when I finish the first one.

Dead Space 1 and.2 were great, and they were honestly the first "horror" games that truly had scary moments for me. I was a bit disappointed by 3, it was still a decent game, but for me it lacked that feeling of "Oh my God I am going to die here"

I've not played them (own them all though, because humblebundle).

It's kinda a weird thing I'm told. People like Deadspace 1 and 2 because of the scariness and are then disappointed by Deadspace 3.

Conversely, people really, really love Deadspace 3 as one of the best cooperative games out there. Then they end up going, "what the heck is going on here?" when they look at the first two games.

Heats of Iron IV. The controls are a little obtuse (I still can;t figure out how to re-base planes), but otherwise it;s quite fun. The war proper hasn't started yet, but I've managed to stay neutral so far.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So I picked Japan, and ended up joining the allies, and have basically been pottering around SE Asia with little to do, so I sent my main fleet and one of my armies as an expeditionary to help out the allies in Europe. I did the "warlords" thing after puppeting China, and was struggling to defeat communist china (due to my own inability to attack, I had like 5x the troops, and much better tech, but I don't really understand the contorls), and who should attack me but fething Russia. Russia had already withdrawn it's troops from the border around Manchuria, so had left only a few troops, expecting Germany to attack Russia, and me not to have to deal with them, So I'm getting buried in Russian troops, as I never made too many, focusing my resources on the navy. Mainland Japan is safe, as the bulk of my navy is still in the pacific ocean, and Russia doesn't really have a fleet to speak of, but I had improved Manchuria's industry quite a bit, and certainly don't want to lose the resources. The good thing is that most of the non-China parts of Asia are rushing to my aid, and who should send a massive army to my aid but fething American (which is rather the opposite of what happened, historically speaking). So now it's just the question if we can get all the areas back from Russia (and I'm fine just getting it back and declaring peace), and we'll see if Germany attacks Russia or if they team up, which could prove fatal to the allies. We'll see.

That's rather tame all things considered. Once you get to grips with the controls you can do some really outlandish stuff. For instance, I turned the Netherlands into a fascist state in 1937 and proceeded to land paratroopers in london effectively taking them out of the war before poland was even invaded. America never joined the allies and we turned mexico and Canada into fascists which eventually started eating the USA. Europe is 100% fascist and we're taking over russia and africa.
