Overall, I'm kind of conflicted about it. Batman is very much one of those things that I'm really rather passionate about.

So, it is well made, no technical issues, none of that stuff. And if you're not an uber Bat geek, you'll probably have a great time with it.

Me, personally though... Yeah, conflicted about it. They took several major character changes and differences from, I guess I should put it as, my preferred mythos of Batman and, well, I don't really think the changes for the better.

Some characters were done well, some... less so. (In my opinion).

Overall, I think even the story from the Arkham games win. There's so much material from those games that are just effectively my own personal canon now, they just win.

I just just think of it as it's own universe or "elseworld". Even the Arkham games are their own "Arkhamverse". If you go in knowing that it's its own thing then it's enjoyable.

Long War 2 on Xcom 2 on 2nd hardest difficulty on ironman mode. I don't get a lot of time to play it for like a whole month but it's a tough mod. I seem to get owned some time around tier 2 armor and weapons.

Went for my first supply raid which only had like a day to fight. I basically only had 3 conscious soldiers left at the end and everybody else was bleeding out save for 3 guys that already bled out (you have up to 10 soldiers to take on it and it's probably one of the roughest missions i could attempt). It was rough but it seems like it paid off. Holy crap though there was a lot of enemies.

Yeah, I get that, I'm fine with the idea of DC universes being its own thing, Nolanverse, etc.

That doesn't mean I'm a particular fan of this interpretation of the universe. Like, for example, I like Flashpoint Paradox Thomas Wayne Batman in the context of the Flashpoint Paradox story, but I don't particularly want to see a great deal of the continuing adventures of Thomas Wayne Batman.

Recently finished darkest dungeon (right before the radiant patch). It was immensly satisfying to rip apart the final boss with my abomination. Damn the game was depressing and double damn I freaking beat it with no guide help. Anyone looking to try it out or get back into it should do so now. There's a big dlc pack, added content and a new faster game mode just released.

Went ahead to some house of many doors, which is awesome but needs a little bit of time for patching and bug fixing. So I put it down for...

Thea the awakening. I love it. Currently playing on true god of Thea difficulty and having to weigh my options and plan every step of the way. It's amazing to think what such a small team could accomplish. Right now all the dlc for it is free and I highly recommend it for anyone that's into the early stages of a civ game.

Someone got me in to XCom2: Long War 2. It's a pretty fun overhaul.

How is the single player? This is one game I've been looking at with interest for this year, and I'd so hate for it to be overly short, have little replay value and the like... Especially since I'd get it on console, and cannot play multiplayer.

Why couldn't you play Multiplayer? It's cross-platform- or do you not have internet access?

I do know that the AI are actually pretty characterful- at least from the open beta. And the fighting system is the sort of thing that's very properly based in skill, so you could probably get some good value from just learning to be very, very good with each character.

Long War for XCom 2 eh? That must be hard. Is 10 soldiers the absolute max you can have on any mission?

The one thing I didn't like was that:

Spoiler:
Thomas Wayne is evil. I kept thinking it would be revealed that it was a frame job or a misunderstanding but I guess he really was a jerk and got what's coming to him. I've never seen this version of the Batman origin before but I'm not versed in every Batmanverse. Not sure I like that, it's almost like it makes Bruce's lifelong Quest for Vengeance pointless.

I think 10 is the max but i'd only recommend doing so if you don't have a lot of time to infiltrate an area. Also i'd probably suggest you only infiltrate an area if you need it and the time is good. Supply raids and terror missions are exceptions but that's when you need to bring everybody.

Started replaying FF7. The PC port (also on PS4) makes playing through it a blast, as you can turn off random battles and turn on 3x speed. Blowing through Midgar is a blast.

Oooh skip random battles and 3x fast forward? Cool. I always liked warpspeeding through random fights to make the grind session on old rpgs less tedious. Generally something you have to be emulating for so it's kinda cool to see it in a port.

Finished a preliminary run through hyperdimension neptunia rebrith v2...or something approximately like that. Liked the first one better, and the third one is shaping up to be more entertaining too. Playing that on and off now. I could do with less double barrel fanservice and skimpy outfits but...I mean that's half of the game..and they self reference it so its amusing on its own I guess. I love watching the lengthy attack animations and when you get tired of them... you can just left controller button them to skip, muahaha. In fact, you can skip every trivial combat attack in the game, speeds things up if you're getting bored fighting. It's an amusing game that has lots of references and jokes about the game industry in general, Deadpool has Nothing on Neptune in terms of violating the fourth wall

Been looking for a replacement once v3 is done, the fairy fencer F games have potential but that new one wants 6gb of ram lol... my system is not built for anything so intense. You can probably playthrough+ the neptunia games into oblivion but I usually get bored with all of the grinding. I guess I can wait to catch one of the disgaea games on sale.

Installed fallout new vegas and I'm slowly trawling through that when I'm not in the mood for JRPGs. Got all those DLCs, may try to get to them.

Yeah, that's one of the two big changes I'm really unhappy about with Telltale Batman. The other involves the main villain.

I've been playing Total War: Warhammer over the past week or so, since it's $12 as part of the humble monthly bundle.

I really, really like it. It's got me really invested in the warhammer world again.

Then I remember GW blew it up and feel sad.

But really, it's a good game, the main issue I'd have with it is, if I'd paid the original retail price for it, I'd be very, very, very grumpy with it. It's been maybe 3 weekends now. I've completed 2(!) campaigns with the 'long' campaign victory. - The dwarfs and the Empire. That's half the non dlc races in the game and each one probably took maybe a fifth the time of the standard Total War campaigns.

I've started up a vampire counts campaign now, reconquered Sylvania in the first handful of turns, expanded out a bit to the west and already I'm in striking distance of Nuln and, from there, Altdorf. I mean, wow. Seriously, wow. Short game is short. I think it's not helped by the 'regional settlement' rules, effectively the grand campaign map is split into halves, there's the 'human V undead' bit and the 'dwarfs v orcs' bit. And even then, there's no real reason for the dwarfs to go to the human lands, or the human lands to go south to the dwarf area.

There also seems to be no reason to go to Bretonnia or fight the Wood Elves at all. So, effectively, the 'Grand Campaign' for the Empire, wholely involves fighting in... The Empire. I don't even think I needed to go to Kislev.

When I'm playing the Empire, I find that I *have* to get at least a little involved with Brettonia. There's always at least one local lord that decides to go attacking the nearby Empire provinces, and examples have to be made. This typically involves razing the offender's city so that I don't then have to defend it from the other nearby Brettonians.

The Wood Elves typically become a problem late game after the Chaos incursion is dealt with, and everyone else is in poor shape.

I'm curious how Brettonia will play given its isolation from everyone else.

Played some more of long war 2 mod of xcom 2. Managed to do another supply raid. Expanded territory although sadly that territory and the soldier defending it got wiped out trying to root out some enemy spies.

I finally got a stun lancer body i can autopsy. So right now i have vipers, stun lancer, muton, officer, trooper and the little drones bots. I think that's it for now.

I never played the one in enemy unknown. Btw i just lost another campaign. 3-4 supply raids and the last one took out all but 2-3 of my guys and then a few missions where i either lost guys or had them left behind. I was just going too slowly i think which is sad. Perhaps i need to have more intel or get more scientists or engineers. I honestly have no idea.

What sucks the most is i finally got them all the right gear after losing so much gear on one mission and i finally got a bunch of magnetic weapons and bam avatar progress finishes. Jesus christ this campaign is hard. Only had 5 territories. Trying to recruit more guys on each so i can make each have a greater impact. Anyway long war 2 is extremely hard even on 2nd hardest difficulty on ironman. I'm saying this as a guy that can do hardest difficulty on ironman fairly well.

I'd say the biggest issue i have is figuring out the new tech tree. It's much larger in many ways than the one in the normal game. I think all stun lancers give is a better melee weapon but it requires a stun lancer to make each one and their numbers are very infrequent. You'll have a ridiculous number of advent trooper corpses however. All advent troop types aside from shieldbearer, officer and stun lancer turn into a trooper corpse and there's a ton (heavy gunner, rocketeer, sentry, trooper, grenadier and i think guardian). I can't remember much of what sectoids do other than give psychic stuff as per usual. Officers are needed for incendiary grenades and skulljacks as well as maybe a couple other things. Trooper is needed for some extra hp or something. Mutons are used for armor (i think it was the one that gives hp and a point of armor; plated armor) and they have the plasma nades as per usual as well as the combat knife upgrade for your gunners. I think the shieldbearer drops the armor that heals hp and maybe something else (ammo rounds that do more damage vs biological?). Sadly i don't think i saw any tier 2 upgrades for sawed off shotgun which was one of my favorite weapons for early game (rangers with smg and sawed off shotguns). Not sure what unlocked tier 2 sniper targeter either but i think it's researching basic mag weapons and it seems to unlock tier 2 technical gauntlet (better damage). I think the tier 2 arc thrower is either unlocked by basic mag weapons or stun lancer but not sure. Redscreen rounds (rounds that reduce hacking needs and do more damage vs bots) and tier 2 gremlins come from researching the enemy drones. Not sure what advent mecs give. I don't think i researched vipers this time but i think they have some kind of poison gear. I can't remember if i ever found out what faceless give. Perhaps it's actually something worthwhile considering they gave mimic beacons in normal xcom 2. Perhaps they have the upgrade for sawed off shotgun (i doubt it but i don't know). Wouldn't i look silly if it was?

If i recall flaming grenades seem like they'd be better now considering all the special abilities of advent troopers and how they'd most likely shut down if you used them.

I actually think i need more scientists next run. Probably a lot more than the engineers i have and get. I just found myself needing better gear eventually. The ranger's sawed off doesn't do enough when you are between laser and magnetic weapons.

So i dunno. Do i need more scientists? Do i need more supplies per turn? Is there something about resistance management that i just don't quite get? I'm trying to recruit more guys into the resistance havens until i have about 7-9 of them and seeing if they can get supplies or intel once i have that many. I also think doing too many supply raids did me in. They give plenty but some of those supply raids weren't needed and a go for scientists or engineers or intel may have been much more helpful. At the end i was hurting for alloys but elerium was plentiful. Wish it wanted me to sell it to the black market and sad it didn't.

Anyway it's a rough game and i'm fascinated but sadly i'm only able to play about twice a week until i get back home. Visiting nowhere's-ville for over a month sucks. I have no games and nothing to do 5 out of 7 days a week. Seriously at best i may be able to make 2 more small models and then play starcraft 1.

Dale are great fun, granted you will be in for a few rough spots since they have no real solid heavy infanteri for some time. But they are great fun to play with.

Been playing the Ghost reckon open beta, and I am not overly impressed so far. Not sure if I will be spending money on this game as it looks and feels very dated, but hopefully that is something that they will manage to deal with before launch.
