To be honest not sold on this, it looks like a conversion kit rather than a stand alone model.
The open front does not work for me either, looks incomplete like something is missing.

I like it, though I do agree it needs a little something to cover the front pilot/gunner.
LOVE the new weapons! Are they going to be released separately in the future? Maybe as packs of 5?

Dont get me wrong the detail is great but it just does not look like a complete model, it would work well as a conversion for a valk or something though I am sure.
The weapons do look pretty dam cool though, if they release them on their own it would be cool.

Doesn't look like a "flyer" to me, I get more of a Land Speeder vibe from it.

Does it come with the cockpit awning shown in earlier previews?

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal. |

The more I look at it the more I feel that this is actually what it is supposed to be. All the flyer talk made me think Stormtalon (or whatever the flyer is), but considering the weapon layout on this thing (Assault cannon/ HF) it might really be a not-Land Speeder. Which might be a cool way to tie your "air support" portions of your army together. Edit: 85mm long, Land Speeder is ~89mm long.

I think it would make a great Land Speeder replacement! I love that Flamer on the side!
Wow, it comes with 6 sets of awesome weapon sculpts! And the magnets!

In the kit you seem to get missile, heavy bolter, assault cannon, flamer, plasma and melta weapons x2. That's a lot of options! Not all of them go on a landspeeder type skimmer, certainly not in some of those potential combinations . I'd not be surprised if we see a canopied version in the not distant future, or perhaps a canopy part that can be bought in addition so that it might be usable to, say, a Storm Talon.

Puppet's War:
Missile Launcher
Heavy Bolter
Assault Cannon
Flamer
Plasma
Melta x2
Games Workshop Land Speeder:
Typhoon Missile Launcher
Heavy Bolter
Assault Cannon
Flamer
Melta
I would not be surprised if plasma would be an option for Dark Angels, and double Melta is a popular Land Speeder option.

The DA plasma-speeder had crossed my mind. I must say I was commenting slightly out of ignorance as I hadn't read the landspeeder options for a while until a couple of minutes ago, did not realise that double melta and double heavy flamer were possible. Shall be a bit more careful in future
Just makes this kit even better!

Oh, and the flyer is ok but I'd also prefer a canopied version.

I could totally see this Land Speeder and the Scout-bike alternates being something I could use for the Vanguard in Sedition Wars.
I think the Landspeeder could use a half-cockpit in front of the pilot, though. The gunner not as much, but the pilot is ludicrously exposed. Though it does harken back to the days of Rogue Trader and 2nd Edition Landspeeders quite nicely, of which the original RT version was even worse(!)

Not too sure about the openness of the cockpit. It needs something else covering it, doesn't need to be much, just some bars or blast shields, anything for a bit more protection!
The armoured version however. Yes I will be getting one of them for sure!

I didn't read the actual product page on Puppet's War, I just saw the last part of the sentence I quoted (Melta guns x2) and thought it was only two of those guns.
Of course all that does is make this model even better

Tons of guns are great!
No canopy... not so great. Will a "gun pack" be sold separately? I could use those guns
If you put a canopy on these, I would consider 3 of them.

Just looking at the weapons configurations pictured on this and the preceeding page, and their potential uses here...
I would say that the canopy-less model with 2 crew will be the not-speeder, while the canopied version will be the not-Talon.
Canopy has space for 4 side mounted weapons (2 on the nose, 2 on the wings), canopy-less only two (so far).
Matches up...
Oh and FWIW... definitely prefer the canopied version, but there was nothing wrong with the old lawn chairs...ahhh, those were the days...
