Hmm, seeing as the Warstore is in NY... yeah, I wont be expecting much until Sandy is gone. Well, dang. Hope everyone down there is holding up.

Just placed an order at the Warstore for the new book and a couple models.

Who knows when they will make it out of the store to ship them

Maybe this is old news, but the new markers are now available in the download section of their website. One file for the markers and a second file for the MagLev train.

Now the question remains - who will be crazy enough to make a maglev train?

I asked Carlos about this last weekend and he said of course CB won't do it, but there is an open invitation for anyone else who wants to try.

I forgot to mention before there was a bunch of really cool Micro Arts stuff that I saw, which has been designed and built by the Micro Arts guys, but using the design sketches from CB provided to them and made with the new missions in mind.

As an example there were escape pods (I believe shown on the forum before? both occupied and unoccupied) which serve for some of the new missions, as well as resin 'lifts' - in the missions that take place indoors these serve as access points to AD drop-troopers (presumably they have landed on the roof!) Also some 'alien markers', and I thought perhaps best of all were some of the human (and alien) style control points/panels. The finished article will have little slots on the top where you can insert a small acrylic token (presumably also made by MAS) - so in missions using the control panels you can change their status and easily keep track of it. Thought this in particular was a great idea!

I love it that CB is trying to forge links with companies like Micro Arts, rather than trying to shut them out - we will get loads of cool stuff which, although easily scratch-built for some people, are nonetheless an option for people who want to buy.

I love this idea too - though at times I wish they'd be a bit more... discerning... in their choices!

The "escape pods" are actually single occupancy "Drop Pods".

I love them, and will be buying several.

I don't think I've seen the model for the escape/drop pod, is it new / not yet previewed, or did I just miss it's existence?

Drop pod was shown at Gencon and a few pics are floating around.

I think the train comes into play in one of the new missions - when it arrives and departs is critical.

So, when it arrives and departs, it should block LOS, provide cover, etc. as well.

I wish my book from The Warstore would get here quickly - though I think Neal probably has more to worry about right now...

So even in non-mission related tables it would be interesting for cover options.

It's less Neal right now, more that UPS is having a hell of a time.

My package is currently "missing", having departed Lawnside, New Jersey last night and...well, somewhere.

I ordered my stuff on Monday night, no email from Neil yet.

I figure that best case scenario it is simply a case of no power to receive the order yet. I hope that he doesn't have bigger problems.

Only one I remember in particular is that if anyone or anything is on the tracks and in its way, they are instantly killed!

There was a guy in the Infinity section a while ago who found a toy-type model that would look good with some work. Will see if I can find the thread!

On Saturday I got the e-mail about my Paradiso book with the usual "to notify you that the electronic shipment information below has been transmitted to UPS" boiler plate. According to the most recent tracking result, it didn't get to UPS until Tuesday. Where ever Farmingville NY is...

But Farmingville, NY is where my previous orders from the Warstore have gone through, so a certain amount of order must be in place at the moment. :-)

My original table plan included a working subway. I've updated the idea since then and it's a long way off for me so if anyone would like my design they can have it. Sadly i think i've deleted the file so i just have the picture left over, i'd be happy to try and dig it out if someone really wants it.

I'm also happy to pass on all the details and designs i came up with, via pm.

My package is now in Greensboro!

I talked with a friend who works at UPS up in Massachusetts and he said that they are working paid overtimes up and down the coast to get stuff sorted.

Got mine. Paradiso is here!!! Apparently the new mini's are a few days behind due to public holidays in Spain so I'll have to wait until next FRIDAY, I'm sure I'll cope

Yep got mine and the new minis should be at simple mini end of this week to beginning of next week for us Dorset folk
