The (in my opinion--unjustifiably silly complaining) about this is in regards to the fact that the Muyib with Spitfire who is currently a double blister, shared with the only Hassassin Muyib model not included in the Muyib box.
It's the standing and firing Muyib(rifle & shotgun) who is also present in the Hassassin Bahram boxed set.

So he won't be available in two places anymore. He'll now be a starter box only model...in an undeniably useful starter box for anyone who wanted Hassassin Muyibs anyways.

It wouldn't be silly complaining if they were released like this initially. If someone has one of the packs and doesn't know to buy the rest before the box comes out, the only way to get the rest of the Muyibs is expensive boxes and redundant models.

Though my complaints are more from a 'really? All we got were repackaged old models?' standpoint.

They basically seem to have arranged it that you'll buy the Hassassin starter and the Muyib box, at which point you'll have all 5 sculpts with no redundancies. It works, but works better for newcomers. I guess that Scarface counts as a QK release, but I'd have liked to see either the Iguana, the Sekban or the missing Druze blister, personally. Ah well, December awaits!

Right, this is a good move for new Haq players, not so good for anyone who's bought some but not all of the existing Muyib blisters.

Basically this. For new players, being able to buy the Bahram box and the Muyib box and having all of the Muyibs is a great deal. If they do it for the other Hassassins as well, or, well, anything that's going to be in a fireteam, it's great for new players.

It's not so great for older players who have only some of the blisters. It basically means you have to go out right now and grab them or end up with redundant models.

I'm just going to go ahead and offhandedly mention the Mobile Brigada with Multi Rifle and Chasseur with Rifle.

To get both of those, you end up with "redundant models" if you're planning on doing a specific Sectorial. The Chasseur is definitely the biggest offender though, as he's the only Merovingian model in the entire vanilla Ariadnan starter box. The fact that he still is not in a blister by himself is downright criminal.

I never said it was specific to Haqqislam. Just because it's happened before, doesn't mean I'm not allowed to be irritated at it happening now.

You missed the point.

The Hassassin with Rifle and Shotgun is--as of right now--still available in a blister format for anyone who wants him.
The blisters are not being discontinued until February.

Past that time, he will still be available in a format where he is actually useful to someone who wants him for the Sectorial he belongs to(the Hassassin Bahram).

What's more, the Rifle+Shotgun loadout for the Hassassin Muyib also can be considered as being within the box anyways, given that it includes 3(!) profiles which all include a D.E.P. as well.
The only exception is the Panzerfaust, Rifle+Light Shotgun, D-Charges loadout.

So excuse me. I just can't muster up that much sympathy for complaints when if I want to field 3 different loadouts of the Chasseur (Basic, FO, Minelayer) I have to find people willing to sell them or cut up models to make something which looks visibly different to a standard Metro or other existing model for proxy purposes.

For myself? The Russian models and the Caledonian are just "bleh" when one considers getting a Chasseur. Even selling them on won't justify the cost, since they are readily available in blisters themselves.

The Intel SpecOps could be a good proxy but the problem comes up with the fact that it doesn't look lightly armored enough to be something which screams "Chasseur".

The one from the starter? That's not really a shame, I guess most of Bahram players already got that one.

Also, check Shae-Konnit on the Infinity section of Dakka. You can arrange to get the 3 Muyyibs you want from him and he will keep the one you already have. You obviously pay less than for the full box.

Like the Yu-Jing support pack being the ONLY box where you can get the helperbots for Yu Jing. What if I only want the Japanese doctor and a helperbot? Ughughugh.

I think store owners are saying the opposite though, and they kinda sorta pay more of the bills than you or me, unless we're all ordering direct from CB...

Yes right, I was told that this is the reason CB is making this switch. The game is growing quite fast and so it has to be as easy as possible for retailers to order in stock and display it.

I guess also that the boxes are probably easier for new players coming into the game (they won't have to do what I did for instance when I didn't have a clue what was what - have 1 window open with the Infinity miniatures page, another with a web-store item list, and another with the army builder ) The negative of course is for players who already have some models and want to expand, although presumably it will be relatively easy to use either Shae's shop or buy what you need from an auction site.

I really like the Briscard with rocket launcher. The Muyibs remind me of early 90s GIJoes, which is a good thing. The Moderator with sniper rifle is nice as well.

This is a legit reason for doing so and I understand that they want to do that.
But in a perfect world they would provide both blister and box variant, oh well.
Of course, in a perfect world I would also get what I've wanted for years this Christmas. A pile of naked asian women.

CB could easily supply both demands.
1. Make as many boxes as possible, so that store owners are happy and the game can continue to spread its awesomeness.
2. Make every model seperately available, not as blisters, the redundancy would cost too much, but as a direct order from CB.

That way most players would go to their local store and just buy the new box.
Veterans and people who just need one more specimen of XY would order from CB directly, pay for the shipping and maybe even a slight increase over the box price, but still save money compared to buying the box and using the unwanted models for lead-pouring on new year's eve.

In a perfect world, CB would sell the models individually on their site.

And that would steer quite an uproar from retailers and distributors.

What CB does now is a clever compromise, giving players complete packages and keeping retailers happy.

@PS: You're right of course that it would steer an uproar, but you cannot be serious to call it a compromise from a customer's point of view. Where are they making concessions to the customers? It's Hobson's choice!
I want it, so I have to buy it no matter the conditions, which are actually in favour of retailers and distributors.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying CB is evil, or that economic measures are wrong in general. We all want to see CB thrive, so that they can provide us with wonderful miniatures for decades to come, but you have to call a spade a spade.
So in case CB really sways from blisters to more and more boxes, then it's a marketing move (which is ok for me) and not a compromise between retailer's and customer's needs.
